While driving on my way home from work my , brakes became extremely hard to press down on and then my service engine light came on this all occurred on 7/31/2024. So the very next day I took my vehicle to a Kia dealership which was 8/1/ 2024 to find out what was causing this to happen. The technician stated that they would have to put it on a machine and run a diagnostic on it. I asked the t
... echnician while they were doing that to change the oil. I also realized that the oil light for my vehicle has NEVER came on since I purchased the car. So the technician did the diagnostic and stated that my vacuum pump had went out but he couldn’t tell me why or how this had happened. I then took the vehicle to my parents house and left it there in the garage for a few weeks to have second opinion done. I then took it to another Kia dealership and they stated there was no vacuum to the brake booster and said there was a broken camshaft and metal pieces were in the engine and the engine needed to be replaced. Again I asked what caused all of this and no one could give me an answer. I had only had the car a 1 1/2 years and don’t understand what caused all of this and I now have a car that I can no longer drive.Read more

I am writing to raise a safety concern regarding the recurring “Service Hybrid Electric System” warning on my Jeep Wrangler 4xe. This warning light frequently appears during normal driving conditions, often without any discernible reason or noticeable performance issues. After consulting with my dealership, it was indicated that this issue is common, with no immediate or lasting resolution pro
... vided, even after multiple diagnostics. The primary concern I wish to highlight is the potential safety hazard this frequent warning creates. Due to its persistent and intermittent nature, drivers may become desensitized to the alert. This desensitization can lead to drivers either losing focus due to distraction from the warning or ignoring the warning entirely, assuming it is yet another false alert. In emergency situations where the hybrid system does indeed have a critical issue, this lack of attention could result in delayed reactions or inadequate responses, increasing the risk of accidents. Additionally, this issue can cause unnecessary anxiety and confusion, particularly when no definitive fault is identified, leaving the driver unsure of the vehicle’s actual safety status. This ambiguity poses a risk, especially in situations requiring immediate attention to a legitimate hybrid system malfunction. Given the number of reports from fellow Jeep Wrangler 4xe owners who are experiencing similar issues and the potential safety risks involved, I believe this warrants a thorough investigation by Jeep and its parent company to determine whether a safety recall is necessary. I would appreciate confirmation that this report will be reviewed and the appropriate actions taken to mitigate any risks associated with this warning system.Read more

The power brake booster was failing and causing the vehicle to not stop as expected. When it was brought to an auto mechanic a few weeks after noticing the issue, they described it as appearing defective beyond normal wear-and-tear and reminiscent of a recall for earlier year models of Chrysler Pacificas. The issue caused the vehicle to not respond to the pushing of the brakes and required a pumpi
... ng of the brakes until the vehicle stopped. Occasionally, when the brakes were depressed and the car was at rest, the vehicle would start moving and the brake pedal would push strongly against being depressed. There were no warning lamps or messages associated with this issue; the issue was discovered simply by noticing that the brakes were not working as they should.Read more

While driving down the interstate at 70 miles per hour, going up an incline, the car lost ALL power & then jerked kicking back into gear. Part is currently backordered with no ETA and fortunately we have 1 month and approx. 2000 mi remaining of powertrain warranty so it will be covered. However, Ford cannot provide ETA on the part and I have concerns of manufacturing quality for the replacement part we are awaiting as well as concerns for other drivers with the same vehicle. I called Ford customer service and they advised to submit a report to NHTSA and the only way for me to formally submit a complaint directly to Ford is by snail mail to a PO Box. So, I'm submitting this report in hopes an investigation will be opened about this issue and pressure will be applied to Ford to boost inventory of this critical part and begin a recall process.Read more

Next day received call from dealership stating there were not going to cover engine under recall and I would need to pay almost $9,000
... for a new engine. The vehicle is a 2021 ford ecosport with under 10,000 miles. When I contacted ford corp, they told me varied stories. First rep. Acknowledge the recall and then said it was up to the dealership to honor it. Second time I called ford corp. the rep said that there was no fix and only a work around and that my paying for the engine replacement was a work around the dealerships had come up with. When I reached back out to the dealership, they told me they had spoken with ford and was instructed to complete more diagnostics, which would cost me out of pocket for the diagnostics approximately $1400.00. I contacted another dealership and was told it would be two month before they could even look at it, due to the number of vehicles currently at their dealership waiting for engine replacements. I contacted ford corp again and was told there was a buy back option. I have just been waiting, when I spoke with the rep in the buyback department (9/25/24) she said it would be another 5 days and she would call me again. I asked about rental vehicles, she said that was up to the dealerships or that I could use a rental company like enterprise. I let her know that to rent a vehicle until the first quarter of 2025, when ford is supposed to have a fix for the vehicle would cost me close to, if not over $18,000 in rental fees. She said if she heard of ford starting a program to reimburse rental fees she would let me know. I asked if she would document the expected rental notes in the case.Read more

The transmission failed on my 2020 Ford Explorer with only 66,000. Ford knows there is an issue with the snap ring inside of the tranmission but won't do anything about it. I took it to a local transmission shop to get a second opinion and they also confirmed the same thing. I called Ford Customer Care and they weren't able to help. She stated there is a TSB out for this issue but no recall at the moment so they wouldn't cover anything under warranty. Then I pressed Set to disengage. Then pressed 'set'again at 60 MPH and it went to 100 MPH. The only way to get it to actually re set was to pull over and re-start the car. 2. When you actually get it to 'set' to 60 MPH and then press the toggle to speed up, it will often toggle up to 90 MPH instead of to 65MPH. This has happened 3-5 times. This is super dangerous since it speeds up so quickly.Read more
