I am submitting this as a formal complaint regarding an ongoing and unresolved safety issue with my 2018 Nissan Maxima (VIN: [XXX] ). Despite multiple attempts to have this issue diagnosed and repaired, the problem continues without resolution. The issue occurs after driving for approximately 30 minutes. The vehicle suddenly goes into limp mode, the gas pedal becomes unresponsive, and the RPMs be
... gin to drop regardless of speed. After about five minutes, the vehicle slowly regains power. This creates an extremely dangerous situation, particularly while driving in traffic or on highways, as it puts my safety and the safety of others at risk. I have taken my vehicle to multiple transmission shops, Nissan dealerships, independent mechanics, and mobile diagnostic services. I am consistently being told that nothing is wrong and that no repairs can be performed because the vehicle will not produce a diagnostic code. However, the issue continues to occur and remains unresolved. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Subject: Formal Complaint and Denial of Recall Reimbursement – Nissan North America To Whom It May Concern, I am filing a formal complaint against Nissan North America for refusing to reimburse $6,703 in out-of-pocket expenses related to a failed VC-Turbo engine and a faulty electronic throttle body. These components failed on October 20, 2025, and are directly associated with active, ongo
... ing safety recalls. Despite submitting a formal claim through Nissan Consumer Affairs and providing all necessary documentation, my request for reimbursement has been repeatedly denied. Nissan is failing to honor its regulatory obligation to cover costs for repairs involving known safety defects. I request that the NHTSA investigate this refusal to reimburse legitimate recall-related expenses. Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter. Nissan is breaking Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act in this matter. As they are purposely denying reimbursement on safety recall out of pocket repairs done. As nissan at the time of engine failure back on October 2025 refused to honor the recall repair & forced the customer to pay out of pocket for a failed manufacturing defect on Nissan vc turbo engine & Failed Nissan electric throttle body. All recalled manufacturing defects caused by Nissan. Were on October 2025 the engine on my 2024 nissan rogue cut off while driving with my family., with no warning & almost got us into a car accident. The cause was due to failed bearings in the vc turbo engine that nissan refused to fix that caused the vc turbo engine to fail and electric throttle body. All are recalls and serious safety defects. Nissan has been refusing to fix since 2025 in my matter and still till this day in 2026. $5, 700 out of pocket for Nissan vc turbo & $1,003 out of pocket for Nissan Electric throttle body. At approximately 18,500 miles, my 2023 Nissan Ariya experienced a brake system failure while driving. The vehicle exhibited abnormal braking behavior and reduced braking performance, creating a serious safety concern. I was able to safely stop the vehicle, but the failure could have resulted in an accident. The vehicle was taken to a Nissan dealership for inspection. The diagnosis revealed severe
... and premature wear of the rear brake pads and significant damage to the rear rotors. The dealership also recommended replacement of the entire rear brake assemblies, not just standard wear components. The total repair estimate is approximately $3,800. Safety Concern: This failure occurred at very low mileage. In an electric vehicle with regenerative braking, brake components should last significantly longer under normal conditions. The extent of damage and need for full brake assembly replacement suggests a potential mechanical or electronic defect, such as a caliper malfunction or braking system issue. This was not normal wear and tear. The failure occurred during operation and posed a direct safety risk due to compromised braking ability. Manufacturer Response: The dealership has indicated the issue may not be covered under warranty, classifying it as wear-related. However, the severity and early failure strongly indicate an underlying defect rather than routine wear. I have contacted Nissan Corporate claims for further resolution. When visually inspecting the car the rotors were irregularly worn and the brake lines had burst spilling break fluid all over the rear innner tire .Read more

We have a 2019 Nissan Leaf that I believe is covered under California's Lemon Law. We were unable to properly use the vehicle due to the fast charge DC capabilities being falsely reported by the dealership when we purchased it. We were told to stop using the DC chargers as a fire might break out, thus making the vehicle unsafe to charge at home and unsustainable for our work/life use. Several of t
... he R24B2 recall milestones were missed in rectifying this charging issue and there is seemingly no solution to this dangerous battery issue. Since, the vehicle will also inexplicably drop in battery performance from 70+% to 9% when the vehicle is cold and driving uphill with the defroster on. Looking this up on google has shown us that it is the signs of a weak battery, although the dealership says that it's running optimally. We've taken it to the dealership and they cannot replicate the problem and will not help us replace the battery. And since taking it in, the driver's side door now inexplicably won't lock or unlock with a push of a button or key fob. It has to be manually locked or unlocked. Extremely dangerous when walking to my car alone at night and having to now get in through the passenger side to unlock the driver's side door before entering my car. I do not feel safe with this car in the least. The Leaf is only 7 years old but acts like it's 17. A nightmarish purchase on our end that did not live up to the promise of what the dealer sold us. And apparently, it was fully known that the fast-charging DC capability did not work properly when sold to us. We would like to trigger a buy back from Nissan Consumer Affairs to the date when the recall was first announced. Thank you.Read more

On January 23rd 2026, my rear window shattered while parked in the parking lot at work. I have video footage from my job’s security cameras which confirms there were no external forces involved nor, thankfully, no one was as in the vehicle at the time it occurred. This occurred while the vehicle was parked; it spontaneously shattered. The back windshield could have unexpectedly exploded while m
... y children were in the vehicle, and the flying glass could have injured my children. The windshield has since been replaced, but there have been no issues to occur since the initial incident. At the time of the incident, I contacted the local police to file a police report. A certified Nissan dealers did inspect my windshield, and the Nissan Warranty group did not replace the windshield citing that I was over the 36,000 miles warranty (42967 miles). The service rep was helpful during the process and was even surprised that the warranty group denied the repair, since I was not far over the 36,000 miles. I had to pay out of pocket to replace my windshield and to also cover my rental for the time while I was waiting to hear back from the warranty group. I had to leave my vehicle at the dealership during this time. A total of 33 days, which was an expense I could not afford but I needed my transportation back. My insurance company did not cover any portion of the claim since it was a manufacturer failure. There were no warning, odd noises or damage to the windshield prior to it shattering. There is an active lawsuit against Nissan for not performing a recall on this defect, and it is a known defect.Read more

I am reporting a safety defect involving my 2022 Nissan Rogue related to NHTSA Recall 25V437 (engine bearing failure). Prior to complete engine failure, I experienced multiple instances of sudden loss of power while driving at highway speeds, creating a serious safety hazard. In one instance, this nearly resulted in a multi-vehicle accident in heavy traffic. The vehicle also exhibited additional
... symptoms consistent with the recall, including engine shaking, knocking noises, rough riding and hard shifting, burning smell, and warning lights. Nissan performed the recall service, which consisted of reprogramming the Engine Control Module (ECM). However, this software update did not repair or replace the defective engine components. The vehicle’s condition worsened after the recall service. The engine ultimately failed completely at approximately 122,000 miles, shortly after the recall repair was completed. This indicates that the recall remedy is ineffective and does not adequately address the safety risk, as a software update cannot prevent or correct pre-existing mechanical failure of engine bearings. I am concerned that other vehicles with this defect remain at risk of sudden power loss and potential crashes despite having the recall performed.Read more
