In September 2024 I too my car to Bedford Nissan in Ohio. They did an oil change and since then my car has been having issues. When reversing and switching into drive my car jerks extremely hard. The supposedly fixed these issues. A few weeks later I am having the same exact problems. I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs multiple times. I have reached out to the dealership. I was terrified as I proceeded in the right lane of traffic since I had vehicles behind me as well as in front of me and I had to cross an intersection with traffic merging from an interstate highway. There was not a safe place to go; all businesses along this stretch had no entry except on their back side. I had to proceed across several major intersections before I could get to a safe place. Meanwhile, warning lights continued and included more than Brake System Failure. One was showing a Warning diagram about changing lanes of traffic which I had to do. Obviously, brakes worked because I was able to stop when needed but I was afraid the brakes would not work which could have been deadly for myself and others. Once I was stopped and in a safe place, I called Honda Roadside Assistance and my car was towed to the nearest Honda dealership. As of this writing (six days from incident), Honda dealership is still investigating; they have not given me a cause or solution. They are providing me with a loaner car. There is no recall on 2024 Honda Hybrid Touring although there are multiple posts online with people saying they had same thing happen with this model vehicle.Read more

The dealer put me in a loaner until they heard from the warranty department. My car is 4,000 miles out of warranty, but they were still going to see what they could do. It has been five business days now, as today is November 15th, 2024, and I have still yet to receive an answer. I have not received information if my vehicle has even been inspected by the dealership. There were no warning lights, messages, or any issues with the vehicle. I take care of the vehicle directly through the dealership, where I purchased the vehicle from and should show all of that on the CarFax. No sooner then I got home from the dealership and was reversing in my driveway the error messages came on and the truck did not sense the garage door and continued to back up thankfully I was able to brake hard and stop 6 inches from the door. Not only did the Park Sense warning come on but also The Rear Brake Assist did not stop the vehicle like it has in the past. I brought the vehicle back to the same dealership and they worked on it for about 6 hours gave it back to me and said they rerouted the wiring harness for the park sense module and it was working fine. As I get into my truck to leave the error messages came on the dashboard so I walked inside and showed the service manager and the tech that just finished working on my truck. They said to bring it back, they had no regards for my safety or the safety of others letting me leave the dealership with the truck acting up cause from time to time the brakes would suddenly come on causing the vehicle to stop abruptly. A few seconds later the vehicle picked up speed and the red warning light disappeared quickly. 11/11/24 I made a call to Nissan Consumer Affairs to create a case (case#[XXX]) and representative opened and closed the case without escalating to a specialist for review. On 11/13/24 I took the Vehicle into a Nissan Dealership to perform a diagnostic on the vehicle and no code was found. I was told to bring the vehicle back in for a full day to troubleshoot. With all of the safety features this vehicle has, I thought issues like this would be recorded. I asked the service advisor if anyone else has reported this issue and he stated not on the 23 Murano but have received reports of other Nissan vehicles just shutting down. This could have been a very bad situation and Nissan Consumer Affairs did not seem to care when this issue was brought to their attention. Also have reported issue with brake pedal squeaking and wheel slipping when making short turn on driver's side. Issues are never found by the dealership in most cases, until the warranty runs out which is very short (3yrs 36,000). They told me I need a new engine replaced in this vehicle to the cost of about $10,000. Auto Nation Ford Bellevue, WA's service department referenced service bulletin #22-2229 (Some 2015-2018 Edge and 2017-2019 Fusion/MKZ/Escape/MKC vehicles equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a low coolant level, white exhaust smoke and/or a runs rough condition with or without an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) may include P0300, P0301-P0304, P0316, P0217, P1285 and/or P1299 stored in powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to coolant intrusion into the cylinder. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the long block engine assembly.). The car Will stop going backwards down a steep driveway thinking that the road is something that I’m going to hit. It will break going forward, including on the highway when there’s nothing in front of it it will break in the fog if the fog is heavy enough.
