My 2018 GMC Canyon just underwent repairs due to a crack in the head gasket. A serious issue which resulted in having to take said GMC Canyon to a mechanic before further damage to the engine could be suffered. My truck only had a measly 76,000 miles. Definitely, something GMC should take a look into. I however was fortunate enough to notice abnormal loss in the coolant reservoir before suffering

The issues with my vehicle began when the radio intermittently cut off or froze. Despite several attempts by the dealer to resolve the problem, they were unsuccessful. Early on, various electrical components failed to load or perform correctly, with the dealer attributing this to software updates. Currently, when the radio cuts off or freezes, I experience additional problems: the headlights rand
... omly flash between dim and bright, the heads-up display fails to load or shows incomplete information, the collision detection activates with no objects around, and dynamic cruise control becomes unreliable or fails to engage. The wipers operate randomly, and the vehicle stalls when the auto start/stop feature is engaged. Random warning lights appear on the dash, and each day brings new, different issues. A new symptom involves the vehicle not recognizing the keys are inside, causing it to shut off and lock me inside. This recently happened while I was driving at low speed in a parking lot, which poses a serious safety risk. On the interstate, safety issues are more concerning: headlights flashing on and off, dynamic cruise control failing, BLIS and collision control activating unexpectedly, and the vehicle locking me inside with keys in the truck. My children are scared to ride in the vehicle due to these issues. The dealer claims they cannot replicate the problems, despite videos I’ve provided showing malfunctions. They acknowledge the issues but blame them on software updates. Multiple updates have been applied, but the problems continue and are becoming more frequent, affecting more systems. The vehicle is under warranty, but as of December 13, 2024, the dealer has refused to service it. After the dealer completed some work, an independent inspection confirmed the issues persist. Warning messages and malfunctioning lamps have been captured on video. Problem has been reported from first service approximately 6/2023 as radio malfunction / electrical issuesRead more

I am filing this complaint regarding the unresolved safety recall for the Integrated Brake System (IBS) on my 2023 BMW X1. The recall, issued in February 2024, addresses critical safety issues, including the potential loss of power brake assist, Antilock Brake System (ABS) failure, and compromised Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). These defects increase the risk of accidents, particularly in emerge
... ncy braking situations or poor driving conditions. Since the recall’s announcement, BMW Corporate has repeatedly confirmed that no official remedy is available, most recently in December 2024. However, my original dealership, BMW of Norwood, recently contacted me and claimed they could perform the repair immediately. This is contradictory and suspicious, as I had escalated the issue to BMW Corporate earlier in the week and mentioned my intent to seek legal counsel. Additionally, I have attempted to appraise or trade my vehicle multiple times since August 2024, but the recall has made this impossible, leaving me with financial and safety concerns. The dealership’s sudden claim that parts are available, without issuing a formal notice or providing documentation, raises concerns about improper recall handling or miscommunication between BMW Corporate and its dealerships. This delay, coupled with inconsistent information, leaves me and other affected customers at ongoing risk. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate BMW’s handling of this recall, ensure a consistent remedy is made available to all affected vehicles, and confirm that proper communication and compliance protocols are followed. Desired Outcome: 1.Investigate BMW’s recall handling and determine if a remedy exists. 2.Ensure consistent and accurate communication about recall remedies. 3.Require BMW to provide official documentation to affected customers when the recall is resolved.Read more

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the ongoing recall issue with my 2017 Hyundai Elantra. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with both Hyundai and the dealership’s handling of the recall and the associated repair costs. We received a recall notice for our vehicle last year, at which point we promptly took the car to the Hyundai dealership. Despite multiple attempts to
... address the issue, we have experienced significant delays, poor communication, and no clear resolution from the dealership or Hyundai. After several months of waiting, we were informed that the recall, which pertains to paint damage caused by a manufacturer’s defect, would cost $3,200 to repair. Furthermore, we were advised that we would be responsible for an out-of-pocket expense of $1,000. We find this situation both perplexing and unacceptable. As consumers, we should not be burdened with costs related to a defect that is clearly the responsibility of the manufacturer. We purchased the vehicle in good faith and expect the manufacturer to uphold its responsibility for repairs related to defects covered by recall notices, especially when the problem is identified after the warranty has expired. The fact that Hyundai is only offering to cover 60% of the repair cost is unreasonable and further exacerbates our frustration. I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigate this matter and hold Hyundai accountable for its failure to resolve the recall issue in a timely manner, as well as its refusal to fully cover the cost of repairs related to a defect for which we should not be responsible. Please consider this letter a formal complaint, and I kindly ask for your assistance in resolving this matter promptly. I both dealership and Hyundai corporate admitted they sent the letter after the warranty expired. We’ve been dealing with this issue for over a year. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.Read more

The Nissan Leaf was in Eco Mode and ePedal at the time of the incident. I believe that the transition from regenerative braking to mechanical braking delayed the stopping of my vehicle. We were lucky that this happened in a very low consequence situation, but if this happened with a pedestrian or at a higher speed where emergency braking is required, this delay in braking could be dire. In addition, this vehicle is equipped with automatic emergency braking. I have heard this feature go off before in this specific car when a car is braking faster than I am. In this case, the alarm and assisted braking did not go off, despite a car stopping within extremely close proximity.Read more

Again, I was blocking traffic, unable to move and the car took up to 10 minutes to re-start. Thankfully, in both instances, I was slow/stopped, but given that the car shifts itself into neutral, this clearly poses a safety risk if it were to happen at even moderate speeds and would likely cause injury to myself or others. Please note a similar issue happened a year ago (where the car would shift into neutral on its own) and I took it to the dealership for inspection. They were unable to find any issues and sent me home. Now, a year later, it is happening again, and the dealership has investigated it and is claiming it is a starter issue. When checked a year ago, the dealership never mentioned any concerns with the starter. Notably, the dealership checked the starter 4 weeks ago and it was fine. I did not receive any warning lamp, message, etc. until the car shifted to neutral/turned off. At that point, I received an "engine cannot be started" error. He lost pressure is the gas pedal. When he pushed it, the vehicle would not accelerate. We has it towed to the same dealership On 10/2/24, they were finally able to tell us what Hyundai felt was wrong: Timing components will need to be replaced- the timing tensioner or chain has failed $4363.20. We pushed back because our personal mechanic said the following: We were told by our mechanic and some of the research that we did that the breaking of the timing chain is connected to the loss of oil pressure that has been happening because of the default in the engine which is part of the recall for that vehicle. What can they tell us about that? Those timing chains are supposed to last a long time and not go out at 130,000 miles or whatever the odometer reading is now. Can this be considered in the recall information for replacing the engine? It does not seem that they're really working with us or helping us on this. Our contact person went back to his shop foreman who went back to Hyundai to ask about this. He then said his shop foreman said it doesn't seem to be directly related to that warranty extension TXX8 - but we will submit all information to Hyundai prior approval and see what they say.
