The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the dealer for a routine oil change, the contact was informed that the driver’s and passenger’s side rear brake pads and rotors were severely worn and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that due to the low mileage, the brake pads and rotor should not need to be replaced. The contact stated that
... there were no issues with the brakes prior to the visit. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that there was a class action lawsuit pending against Nissan for the 2022 and 2023 Nissan Pathfinders due to premature brake pad wear. The class action suit stated that numerous owners of similar vehicles had complained that the brake pads were prematurely worn between 20,000 - 30,000 miles, as opposed to the average 50,000-60,000 mile range. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the failure was caused by normal wear and tear. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.Read more

April 20, 2026 NHTSA Safety Complaint I am reporting an unresolved safety issue involving my 2019 Nissan LEAF subject to NHTSA Recall 24V-700. I made multiple documented attempts to resolve this directly with Nissan Consumer Affairs, including a formal escalation sent via certified mail. Nissan has failed to respond. Additionally, prior written correspondence from Nissan referenced an incorrect vehicle model (“Rogue”) despite having my correct VIN on file, raising serious concerns regarding the accuracy of the review conducted on my case. I am continuing to incur financial hardship for a vehicle I cannot safely or practically use. NHTSA records confirm this recall remains incomplete with no available remedy, and that continued use of Level 3 charging presents a risk of battery fire. My 2022 Nissan Rogue has experienced repeated engine failures beginning at approximately 88,000 miles, including four separate incidents despite repairs performed at authorized dealerships. The vehicle exhibited engine knocking and drivability issues prior to failure. Nissan later issued a recall related to engine issues, and recall service was performed on January 29, 2026. The engine failed ca
... tastrophically less than 30 days later and was diagnosed with coolant intrusion into the cylinders requiring full engine replacement. The recall inspection appears to have been limited to a computer scan and did not identify the underlying issue. This raises concerns that the defect may not be properly detectable through the current recall procedure. I am reporting this as a potential safety concern due to repeated engine failure and loss of confidence in vehicle reliability.Read more

The front collision radar and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) on my 2025 Pathfinder Platinum fail intermittently and repeatedly, creating a severe safety hazard. The vehicle is currently available for inspection upon request. Component/System Failed: The front radar sensor randomly malfunctions and shuts down entirely. This completely disables the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), ProP
... ILOT Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Safety Risk: The sudden and unprompted disabling of the Automatic Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control while traveling at highway speeds poses a severe risk of collision. The driver is forced to take sudden manual control without the expected safety net, creating a highly dangerous distraction and increasing the risk of rear-end crashes. Warning Lamps/Messages: Yes. Usually, after 30 to 60 minutes of highway driving, dashboard warning lights suddenly illuminate, displaying messages such as "Front Radar Unavailable" or "System Fault," accompanied by flashing collision symbols. This occurs in perfect weather conditions, on clear roads, and with perfectly clean sensors (no snow, dirt, or debris obstructing the radar). I have over 30 videos capturing these failures occurring under normal driving conditions. Inspection & Dealer Reproduction: The vehicle has been inspected by two different authorized Nissan dealerships, spending a total of 35 days out of service. At the first dealership (10 days in shop), the official paperwork blamed "dirt/debris," but a service advisor informally admitted via text message that it was an internal system error they could not fix. At the second dealership (25 days in shop), technicians test-drove the vehicle but claimed they "could not duplicate" the intermittent issue and found "no codes," despite me providing them with extensive video evidence of the system crashing. Manufacturer Involvement: I contacted Nissan North America Corporate regarding this severe safety defect and the dealershipsRead more

When operating the vehicle above the minimum temperature recommended by the manufacturer, the battery state of charge has dropped multiple tens of percentage points in moments while driving on the highway while driving the speed limit. The starting point for the state of charge in this situation was roughly 64% when beginning the trip. This has occurred at roughly 10 degrees Fahrenheit. The vehicl
... e gives a warning that the driver should pull over immediately, which is very dangerous when driving on an interstate highway in traffic. The state of charge dropped into the teens in moments. This cold weather issue was not disclosed when purchasing the vehicle. The minimum operating temperature for the vehicle is -1 to -13 degrees F depending on the operating conditions (charging, driving, etc.). This should not occur at 10 degrees F. A software fix to the battery to slow the state of charge will not remedy the issue with a faulty battery in this case. Why is this accepted when the Chevrolet Bolt vehicles were required to swap their batteries to remedy the issue? I have not had time to bring this into the dealer due to my schedule availability. I will try to reproduce this upcoming winter. Others online have reported this same problem though.Read more

The 2023 Nissan Frontier was purchased new and is under manufacturer's warranty. Beginning in the summer of 2025, the driver's seatback has unexpectedly moved rearward, including more than one instance where it fell completely back toward the rear seat. Each time, the vehicle has been turned off, the seat is unoccupied, and no one was in contact with the seat controls. The seat does not feel lo
... se when manually pushed and appears normal between incidents. The issue is intermittent and cannot be easily reproduced on demand. This is a serious safety issue. If the seatback recliner mechanism fails while driving, it could suddenly alter the driver's position, reduce control of the vehicle and increase the risk of injury in a crash. I have reported the issue multiple times to an authorized Nissan dealership. The vehicle has been inspected and kept overnight, but the issue was not reproduced and no repair was made. I also contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs who attributed the issue to the seat adjustment switch being accidentally activated. This explanation does not match the conditions under which the problem occurs (vehicle off, seat unoccupied). I am requesting this issue be investigated as a potential defect in the seatback recliner mechanism or power seat system. This condition appears to involve un-commanded seat movement and possible failure of the seatback locking mechanism. I have photos but am waiting for the internet to forward them from my phone to my computer to upload.Read more

Vehicle experienced sudden engine stall/shutdown after warning indicators illuminated. While driving at low speed, the ABS warning light, front collision warning light, and check engine light appeared. After placing the vehicle in Park, the engine shut off unexpectedly. Vehicle would then restart but stall again within several seconds. This created a serious safety concern because the vehicle cou
... ld lose power unexpectedly in traffic or while entering an intersection, reducing ability to accelerate, steer safely with traffic flow, or avoid a collision. OBD diagnostic codes retrieved were P0101, P0102, and P0113. Based on research into common 2018-2020 Nissan Kicks issues, these codes may be secondary/false airflow sensor warnings caused by a failing or sticking electronic throttle body rather than an actual mass air flow sensor failure. Sudden stalling and restart-then-stall behavior are consistent with throttle body malfunction. Problem appears intermittent. Vehicle/component is available for inspection upon request. No prior warning lamps were present before the incident.Read more

I am writing to formally escalate a serious safety complaint regarding my vehicle, which is currently under an active recall and was already scheduled for repair next month. On a recent occasion, the vehicle suddenly and completely shut off while I was driving inside a tunnel, creating an extremely dangerous situation that could have resulted in a severe accident. At the time, I was driving with
... my family inside the car, including my [XXX] son. The engine/electrical system shut down without any warning. Emergency assistance was required, and the police attended the scene due to the risk created. Vehicle VIN: [XXX] This is not an isolated issue. The vehicle has already shown previous failures, and the recall repair has not yet been completed. This ongoing defect represents a serious and unacceptable safety risk. I am requesting: 1. Immediate inspection of the vehicle 2. Urgent repair under recall conditions 3. Written confirmation of the cause of the failure 4. A formal response regarding safety liability in this incident Given the severity of this situation and the presence of a young child in the vehicle during the failure, I expect this matter to be treated with the highest urgency. I made an appointment with the dealership peoria nissan for 8:15am on the morning of 4/18/26. I confirmed the recall and brought the vehicle in early they received it told me it should be done by lunch. At 3:45 pm they messaged me it was all done and ready to go. I called and questioned them as to whether or not the airbag needed to be replaced, where they admitted they actually didnt do anything.
... They started to work on it, realized they wouldnt have time and put it back together. The keys would be at the front desk at sales they were going home. I went down and asked about a rental as the vehicle had a dangerous recall (I had just purchased the vehicle used) they said service is closed go ahead and drive it home and set another appointment and try again. Not only did they lie originally by stating it was all done and ready to go in hopes I wouldnt ask about the airbag. They then insisted I drive it home knowing it was a danger to my family and myself.Read more

The component that failed/malfunctioned is the instrument cluster and it is available for inspection upon request. The instrument cluster which displays the RPMs, miles, gas gauge, vehicle temperature, speedometer and other pertinent information while operating the vehicle has started to go out. If the entire panel goes completely out there is no way to see any of this information which could als
... o lead to odometer fraud as well as other notifications that are displayed on there going unnoticed. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership to see what would need to be done. They stated the entire instrument cluster would need to be replaced. I feel like this should not already be happening on a not even 2 year old car. There was no warning or any other symptoms of the problem prior to this happening in February of 2026. The cost to replace the entire panel would be over $1200 and after speaking with one of the service technicians at the dealership he stated that this was not the first vehicle he has had in with the same issue. Nissan needs to address this issue because if you can't even get a new vehicle to last 2 years or 45,000 miles before it has a malfunction like this then what are we doing.Read more

I am submitting this as a formal complaint regarding an ongoing and unresolved safety issue with my 2018 Nissan Maxima (VIN: [XXX] ). Despite multiple attempts to have this issue diagnosed and repaired, the problem continues without resolution. The issue occurs after driving for approximately 30 minutes. The vehicle suddenly goes into limp mode, the gas pedal becomes unresponsive, and the RPMs be
... gin to drop regardless of speed. After about five minutes, the vehicle slowly regains power. This creates an extremely dangerous situation, particularly while driving in traffic or on highways, as it puts my safety and the safety of others at risk. I have taken my vehicle to multiple transmission shops, Nissan dealerships, independent mechanics, and mobile diagnostic services. I am consistently being told that nothing is wrong and that no repairs can be performed because the vehicle will not produce a diagnostic code. However, the issue continues to occur and remains unresolved. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more
