I am reporting a recurring defect with my 2019 Kia Sorento’s front axle assembly, which has failed multiple times despite repeated replacements. I am requesting an investigation into whether this issue is widespread and whether Kia should be required to address it through a recall or permanent fix.Read more

Purchased the car in June of 2024 with around 33,000 miles. I thought the doors were locked and someone was able to just open my back door when my car was unattended in a store parking lot; the car was supposed to be locked. Lights and horn started going off. Being a female with a child this is a very scary issue. The idea that anyone can get in when you think the doors are locked or vice versa,
... in the event of an emergency no one can get in because the doors dont unlock. It started with the passenger side rear door lock not working with fob or button. The lock needs to be done manually. The dealership looked at it and said they could not replicate the problem and everything was working. Now both rear door locks dont work with the buttons or the key fob. The rear doors have to be locked and unlocked manually all the time. Car is currently at the dealership and they confirmed the issue and are telling me that the BCM (i believe is what they said) needs to be replaced and reprogrammed. The car only has approx. 42,500 miles. The other issue with the car is the automatic emergency braking system light comes on and flashes on the dash. It is very random and sometimes it doesnt do it at all. There can be nothing in front of me on the road when it starts flashing. It also does it in all weather conditions, and even when its dry. There have been multiple issues with this car since the day I purchased it.Read more

I recently purchased a 2025 Subaru Forester. My wife is a petite woman, about 93-97 pounds and 5 feet 4 inches tall. When she sits in the front passenger seat the airbag light stays in the "airbag off" position. She is not heavy enough to activate the "airbag on" light. The dealer inspected the passenger seat and said that the airbag on/off function is working properly and works as expected for pe
... rsons about 100 pounds or more. They confirmed that the "airbag on" light does not come on for my wife. Your website indicates that you have used dummies for airbag deployment for children and small stature women. Is it safer for a small stature woman to have the airbag not deploy in a frontal collision than to deploy? We checked a 2025 Honda CR-V and the "airbag on" light is activated when she sits in the front passenger seat. We were given information that a weight of about 65 pounds is required to activate the airbag. Subaru has not told us what weight is required. It seems strange that the airbag activation requirements would vary from on vehicle to another. We are wondering whether it would be safer for us to keep the Subaru vehicle (where the airbag would not deploy) or replace it with the Honda CR-V, for which the airbag would deploy. Does your research indicate which option may be safer?. Subaru Customer Service said the airbag system is operating as it was intended and would not buy the car back. The dealer has offered to buy the car at a reduced price if we want to sell it and replace it with the Honda CR-V. Can you please provide some guidance for us based upon your crash research studies. We received a recall letter for 198 and 251. We called and made the appointment for September 9, 2024. We took the car at Five Star Hyundai of Macon. 3010 Riverside DR. Macon, GA 31210. Phone: (478) 309-8308. We called in October to check on our vehicle status, so they are still working on it. We called back again because they didn't communicate well with customers and told us the car was ready.
... We went to the dealership to pick the car and when we got in the car to leave, without doing anything, the brake light came on and didn't move. We were never able to go because of this. The mechanic came and took the car and said let me check. He took the car for a short ride and said we need it to keep it. Then, they called tell us that the car needed a brake module and that would cost us 6700 dollars. I said that is unacceptable because the car worked fine when we took it to you for a free recall. They reduced the price to 3000 dollars and our car is still with them. We want our car fixed and running but this is not the way it should have to be. Our car is still in Macon at 5- star Hyundai. Few more days and we will 5 months without car. They never provide another vehicle. This has put us on a hardship because my husband goes to work early, then comeback and pick me up and take me to work then, he has to picked me up too. We have called the corporate office and have received a case number. The only communication that exists is between the corporate offices of Hyundai and us. The dealer will not return calls or texts. We haven't got any updates recently. They only thing we got told on Christmas time it was we must bring a check or a card to be able to pay. We have been paying insurance on that vehicle for what? If we haven't be able to drive. We are frustrated. We live about 95 miles away from the dealership and we can't check on our vehicle that easy. You don't know how much we regret this and how we really going to know if they are doing a good job or not.Read more

This complaint is to document severe frame damage due to corrosion my 2000 Toyota Tundra. The rusted frames of the 2000-2003 Tundra’s are a well-documented problem that the Toyota Corporation has tried, unsuccessfully, to remedy in the past but continues to be a safety hazard to passengers and other innocent people when the frame finally fails. Some owners have been fortunate enough to have the
... ir frame replaced while others, like myself, have been told there is nothing available to remedy the problem. As seen in the attached pictures, I have significant corrosion along the frame walls where two pieces of steel were sandwiched together to reinforce the frame from where the gas tank is located to the rise where the bed attaches. These areas are crucial as the cross members of the frame attach to one another to form a solid body. Failure of this area would cause the truck cab to separate from the bed in the event of a crash, or even a deep pothole. It would also likely drop the gas tank out of the frame and impact the pavement with disastrous consequences for anyone around. I have reached out to my local Toyota dealer who stated “your vehicle is part of a class-action lawsuit and we cannot do anything without the Toyota Corporation’s approval.” They gave me the phone number of Toyota Customer Relations who kept repeating to me that “the truck is out of warranty and are no recalls available for my VIN number”. I have researched my VIN [XXX] ) and it does indeed appear to be included in a frame replacement program. When pressed about the inclusion of my truck in the program, they once again reference the warranty expiration and VIN exclusion. There were an estimated 110,000 trucks impacted by the faulty metallurgy process of the frames and Toyota was awarded a settlement from the Dana Corporation that manufactured the frames but not all owners have been recipients of the award. While we are driving, the front and back door of our rv open while in transit. This happens even when the RV doors are both locked and deadbolted. ... ion worker. I have reported it to Grand Design, and at that time, it was not repaired. I was at the headquarters at the time. I had already purchased the aftermarket door bar to keep it from flying open, but they both still come unlatched. A dealer has not verified this , and GD does not take it out driving so they would not have verified it either, although they were informed of the issue while I was there for frame reinforcement due to other issues (front landing gear failed due to side to side frame flex) It has not been inspected further to my knowledge. The wall between the main living quarters and the bunkhouse and rear bathroom has movement in transit as well, which is directly by the rear door. There is sawdust still after five years after a move day in the rear bathroom. This leads me to believe there is a lack of structure holding this middle section of the rv together, allowing the shifting while in transit. The doors have opened in transit from the date of purchase, new from a Wyoming Grand Design dealer and has never been properly addressed when brought up. I will say at the time, I was having other major issues fixed, so it was not on the top of my list since I had already bought the door bar to keep it from flying all the way open while driving so I did not push it with GD HQ.Read more
