I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000.I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the OTA (Over-the-Air) update process for my vehicle. The current OTA process is a disaster! The first update attempt was incomplete with only 1/3 of the up
... date installing. This caused issues and all subsequent OTA attempts failed, causing me not to be able to drive it for days and weeks at a time for fear of my safety and that of others. Ultimately, this resulted in me paying for a tech to fly to TN to finish the update in person, and complete the water pump recall. Since I was left in a state of uncertainty regarding the functionality of my vehicle I became forced to pay roughly $1,000 out of pocket for a mandatory free recall. I have yet to be reimburse for any of this cost, and frankly this should not have happened if the OTA process worked AND there were more techs available in the US to help people. I supposedly now have all of the updates for the car and the water pump replaced and this was all supposed to be free. This is on top of the NEW 12V battery I had to buy (another near $300) in order to allow updates to be installed because of the unsafe update process. Lastly, I am deeply concerned about the limited number of service personnel available in the U.S., with only around 20 individuals servicing the entire country and merely 5 traveling nationwide to assist customers with undriveable vehicles. This scarcity is unacceptable and leads to extended wait times for necessary repairs and updates. I urge you to address these pressing issues with the OTA update process promptly. On [XXX], I was driving my 2015 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel in [XXX] when all of the sudden it will not accelerate and a check engine lamp illuminated. It was a near-miss to getting into an accident because the truck drastically slowed-down and wouldn't continue to accelerate. ... tario. Scan diagnostics was initially performed and P0336 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Performance was detected. CDJR Dealership in Ontario further found out delamination and broken pieces on crankshaft tone wheel but only have addressed the recall pertaining to fuel pump (Recall No. 22V406000). The truck would exhibit prolong cranking followed by a "Service Electronic Throttle Control" warning sign that pops-up in the dashboard every time an attempt to start the engine will be made. This have been duplicated when at the dealership and multiple times after [XXX]. I have later found out that there was a prior recall associated with Loss of Crankshaft Position (Recall No.W58) that was launched back in August 20, 2020, however, the corrective measure didn't include parts replacement but only reprogramming. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have: Service Recall W58/NHTSA 20V-475 that have been APPLIED (launched in March 20th, 2020; Repaired in March 13th, 2021 - reprogramming), and also Service Recall 66A / NHTSA 23V-411 that the dealership is NOT WANTING TO APPLY or COVER (launched in June 7th, 2023 - parts replacement). As such, there is a disconnect between the two Safety Recalls from Stellantis / FCA US LLC. This is far from the experience that I expected when signing up for a free mandated safety recall. Moreover, I've noticed a concerning trend regarding the frequency of issues reported by fellow owners after OTA updates. It appears that a significant percentage of vehicles—approximately 2% to 5%—experience similar problems, rendering them undrivable during the 48-hour update window. This situation not only disrupts our daily lives but also raises serious concerns about the reliability of the software updates. I am particularly troubled by the statistics indicating that only around 10% of the fleet has been updated successfully after several weeks of attempts. With such a limited number of service personnel available nationwide, it is alarming that many owners like myself are left without adequate support during these challenging times. I went to fill my vehicle with gasoline on 02/06/2025. The 2018 Honda Ridgeline has a capless fuel system to enter fuel into the vehicle and there are two flaps that the gasoline nozzle is required to open. It repeatedly attempted to insert the nozzle and the first flap would not move. I pushed harder, and the first flap broke. I still could not insert the nozzle to get gasoline into my vehicle. I

On 02/07/2025, the temperature rose above freezing and I was able to mop out the water from the area, however my capless system was broken at this time. I brought it to the local Honda dealership and they were able to repair the damaged component, however charged me for this repair as they contended there were no recalls on this issue and the vehicle is out of warranty. I went on the internet and found in several consumer forums that people have cited this to be an issue with the Ridgeline and other Honda vehicles. I am unclear how Honda could manufacture a vehicle component that allows water to collect at the entrance to the gas tank which could cause a myriad of engine issues as well as the ice issue which would prevent being able to put gasoline in the vehicle.Read more

I have contacted multiple Ford dealerships, and they are definitely aware of the issue because each time they tell me that this issue used to be covered under warranty. The problem is, every dealership has said that this warranty expired some time ago (before I own the truck and before this started happening). Now they are saying the only way to prevent it is to spend $1600 for them to fix it. I don’t have $1600 to drop on a safety issue that is beyond my control. Especially since Ford knows about it. Fisker Inc has gone out of business. A mandatory recall has been issued and the bankruptcy court has assigned a trustee to ensure vehicles are updated to version 2.2 to address safety recall issues. The update to 2.2 has been extremely unpredictable and the trustee has not been able to complete this recall. I had to pay $450.00 to complete the software update. I will have to pay an additional $450
... to have the water-pump replaced, plus drive 6 hours to closest service center to have the work done. After the software update almost immediately the estimated range has been drastically reduced. The cars were marketed as getting up to 360 miles on 100% charge. Since the recall update, they now get somewhere around 220 miles on a 100% charge. The technician that completed my update analyzed it with approved Fisker software, and he found that the rear motor is now throwing “flux error codes” and not functioning properly. This is causing an electrical issue draining the batteries much quicker than they should be. there is no fix at the moment however the trustee is still responsible for rolling out this buggy software .Read more

I was driving on a 55 mph highway when the engine completely shut off without warning. Losing all power while traveling at highway speeds was extremely dangerous, and I was barely able to glide the vehicle to the side of the road before it lost momentum. It is terrifying to think of what could have happened had I not been able to get out of the travel lane in time, especially with other vehicles moving at high speeds around me. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the dealership diagnosed the issue and confirmed the engine failure. They have determined that a full engine replacement is necessary. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized GMC dealership service center. I have not yet had it inspected by any other parties. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights or messages appeared before the engine shut off. We started noticing issues on our RV and reported it to Grand Design. Those issues included bolts holding front philon breaking and loosening, wallpaper at base near floor shifting, excessive new noises on slide movement, lippert legs stopping due to being off balance on level ground, stress cracks in front cap, sawdust in pantry cabinet, loose lag bolts upon further inspection and dresser panel
... repeatedly popping off on travel days. Based on the issues, we took it to a a GD dealer (La Mesa in Sanford FL) for inspection. After measurements I was told by Grand Design that it was excessive frame flex. The philon was removed by the dealer and in that small section no obvious cracks were noted. They replaced lag bolts from the inside. We asked if they would remeasure and they said that Grand Design didn't require that, but they would. We were told that the measurements did not change after the lag bolts were replaced. They did not fill out the official form since Grand Design didn't require it. They repaired the stress cracks in the paint, but the dealer told me that the wallpaper shifting and sawdust was normal. We took the vehicle and then the caulking all cracked where the philon attached (the same places that bolts broke and were loose prior to. I am concerned that there was not further inspection, so I called Grand Design. They said the measurements are in spec and always have been, so he's not sure why anything was done. From my research and from looking at the forms, 1/2 inch is out of spec and nothing has changed on my rv.Read more
