Our vehicle stalled once while idle at an ATM. Upon restart we brought it to our local mechanic for investigation, they diagnosed the issue as a Turbo Sensor problem costing about $700. When we dropped off the vehicle at both locations there was no check engine light on and there were no signs of engine failure. I was told this may not be the final solution to the problem. This time there was no discussion of the hatch issue with this vehicle. Hmmm, there is an online forum for other Nissan owners with the same problem. I never received any warning lamps prior to the issue. The rear lift hatch was working until it wasn't. Thank goodness I was not on a road trip (I have two adult children who live out of state). It is unnerving and unsafe to drive while all of the warning lights and sounds are ON all while your rear door is unable to latch. In my opinion, this is a SAFETY issue. There have been two class action suits on the 2017 Murano. One for foggy headlamps and one for the CVT transmission. I did not join the suits. At the time I was contacted, my headlamps were not foggy, now they are. Knock on wood, I have no issues with my transmission. I can drive safely with foggy headlamps. I can NOT drive safely when my rear door will not latch. There are 3 buttons for this feature (the dash, the rear door, and the glove box). The button in the glove box allows you to turn off the auto lift feature. Even when you turn it off, the door will not latch. In my opinion, there is a faulty design. This should be a RECALL, not a repair. I am long past the days of soccer and basketball tournaments where a rear door gets a workout. It's just me. Having a door close and latch seems fundamental to the safety of a vehicle.Read more

There were no overhead structures or nearby vehicles that could have caused an impact. Conditions were slightly rainy. Approximately one week before this event, the vehicle displayed a warning that the sunroof was “not
... initialized.” I followed the reset procedure, and the message cleared. It’s unclear if that alert was related, but the sunroof’s failure seems more than coincidental. The explosion caused loud noise, exposure to weather, and panic inside the cabin. Fortunately, the cloth sunshade was closed and minimized glass intrusion. We pulled off the highway, documented the damage, and temporarily sealed the roof using materials from a local hardware store. BMW has not yet confirmed whether this repair will be covered under warranty. We were forced to fly home due to lack of a functioning vehicle. I am reporting this because it was a serious safety issue that could have resulted in greater harm under slightly different circumstances. The mechanic contacted the manufacturer on the contact's behalf; however, the manufacturer confirmed that the recall repair could not be performed because the power steering pump was an aftermarket part. Vehicles, including large semi-trucks, were swerving and honking to avoid colliding with our stalled Yukon. Fearing for my family’s safety, I was forced to exit the vehicle in the middle of traffic and physically push the Yukon to the side of the freeway, while trying to keep my wife and children calm inside the vehicle. The panic and distress this caused my family—especially my wife, whose anxiety skyrocketed—is beyond unacceptable. Highway law enforcement arrived and remained there until we were able to get a safety tow off the freeway and out to a service shop with GMC. I've gotten my car fixed multiple times and nothing has worked. My car is leaking coolant severely it overheats constantly I get the red and the yellow message. My heater is self stopped working and my car on the freeway has stopped from going 75 to 80 miles dropping all the way to 20 miles.
