Unknown Subject: Safety Concern Regarding Rock Creek Model Seatbelt Design I am writing to formally report a serious safety concern regarding the seatbelt design used in the Nissan Rock Creek model. Specifically, the seatbelt in this vehicle includes a plastic insert that is stitched directly into the belt. This configuration appears unusual when compared to standard seatbelt construction and, in
... my view, raises significant questions about its safety and performance in the event of a collision. My primary concern is whether this particular seatbelt design, including the stitched-in plastic insert, has undergone full crash-testing and safety validation. Seatbelts are critical life-saving devices, and any nonstandard configuration can introduce potential failure points. Before continuing to use this vehicle, I would like written confirmation that this design meets or exceeds all applicable federal safety standards, including FMVSS 209 and 210, and that it has been tested under conditions representative of a real-world crash scenario. I am deeply concerned that this feature may pose a hazard to vehicle occupants if it compromises the belt’s ability to lock, restrain, or distribute force correctly during an accident. For this reason, I respectfully request a prompt, detailed response. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your explanation and confirmation regarding the safety of this system.Read more

Consumer Safety Complaint – 2023 Nissan Rogue Engine Failure & Denied Reimbursement I am submitting this complaint regarding a known manufacturing defect in my 2023 Nissan Rogue SV that resulted in progressive engine failure, significant out-of-pocket repair costs, and a subsequent denial of my reimbursement claim by Nissan Consumer Affairs. Vehicle Information: • Year/Make/Model: 2023 Nissan
... Rogue SV • Engine: 1.5L 3-Cylinder KR15DDT VC-Turbo Summary of Events: On July 22, 2025, I brought my vehicle to Precision Automotive and Transmission after experiencing symptoms consistent with the defect described under NHTSA Recalls 25V437 and 26V080. Repairs included CVT diagnostics ($95.00), CVT transmission service ($386.39), water pump replacement ($610.65), and a cooling system service ($259.95) — all cascading failures tied to the engine and transmission defect. On November 13, 2025, my vehicle was towed from my residence due to complete engine failure. A full engine replacement was required at an additional cost of approximately $5,958.22, plus a diagnostic fee of $95.00. Total out-of-pocket expenses: approximately $7,405.21. All repairs were completed prior to Nissan's official recall notification to owners, scheduled for March 27, 2026. Reimbursement Claim Denied: I submitted a formal reimbursement claim to Nissan Consumer Affairs. My claim was denied on the basis of an incorrect diagnostic code. I believe this denial is improper. The underlying failure — engine bearing degradation caused by the KR15DDT's lubrication deficiency — is precisely what these recalls address. Denying reimbursement on a technicality of code classification, while the physical failure is covered under the recall, is deceptive and harmful to consumers. I am not filing this complaint solely to recover my own losses. I am filing because this denial practice may affect thousands of other Nissan owners who experienced the same defect.Read more

Level 3 quick charging was not working, and only Level 2 charging is working now. That creates a risk of not working if Level 2 charging does not work as well. I own a 2025 Nissan Rogue, and the rear windshield shattered suddenly without any impact, collision, or contact with an object. This was not caused by an accident or misuse on my part. My insurance company is only offering coverage if I meet the deductible, but the repair cost is below that amount, which leaves me responsible for the full out-of-pocket expense. On top of that, I am being told my p

Issue: Garage caught fire. All wood (trusses, joists, walls) were in tact. Estimated in tact amount=99%. The vehicle was completely consumed. The hood melted, plastic, seats, tires consumed. Car was not driven day of incident. Origin was attributed to garage. Cause was undetermined by fire department. Report does not today address the vehicle in any way shape or form. There is no documentation as
... to what was seen upon removing garage doors. Had the can already been consumed? Did vehicle initially encapsulate the fire prior to moving into garage structure? It is speculated that NHTSA part 573 recall report 22V-875 may be applicable when viewed from design engineering point of view and not strictly to only vehicles addressed by Nissan in that report. There were no prior warnings of any kind that foretold the ensuing events. I am trying to get the fire department to amend report to record stated belief of fire origin (vehicle) which is not today evidenced in the report and as per the stated opinion by one of the fire fighters. I am further insisting that the insurance company assign a forensic expert in evaluating the origin and cause of the fire. Nissan has not been notified to date. I am imploring NHTSA to take this apparent prior documented safety issue further beyond what has been concluded in order to prevent any future safety issues should it so be judged by NHTSA as the authority in these matters.Read more

I am reporting a critical safety hazard involving my 2021 Nissan Leaf S Plus (approx. 117,000 miles). Since January 2025, the vehicle has exhibited dangerous battery degradation and voltage sag during operation. On my 30-mile highway commute, while driving at normal highway speeds—especially on inclines—the vehicle would suddenly display a low-power warning, and the remaining battery percentag
... e would instantly crash. This caused a sudden, dangerous loss of propulsion in high-speed traffic, creating severe crash risks. I primarily charged at home and rarely used DC fast charging. On May 22, 2026, while actively driving, the dashboard flashed: "Service EV system unable to restart after power off." I pulled over, and upon turning the car off, it completely bricked. The auxiliary electronics power up, but the vehicle permanently refuses to enter "READY" (Drive) mode due to a high-voltage safety lock. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Nissan dealer. The certified technician's diagnostic report confirmed that the high-voltage traction battery has completely failed and is internally damaged. Crucially, this vehicle is currently under an active, unremedied safety recall (NHTSA Recall 25V655 / Nissan R25C8) due to excessive lithium deposits that cause severe battery degradation, sudden power loss, and fire risks. The physical failure of my battery is a direct manifestation of this exact manufacturing defect. Nissan’s software-only "interim remedy" did not fix the hardware defect; it simply bricked my car after exposing my family to highway propulsion loss. Nissan must be held legally responsible for replacing these defective, recalled battery packs regardless of mileage, as they present a severe, systemic risk of catastrophic failure and traffic accidents.Read more

The vehicle's ABS Actuator (47660-5RW0D) failed and was replaced. Given the mileage was only 32,827, the component failed prematurely and was nowhere near the end of its lifetime expectancy. Multiple warning lights have been sporadically coming on, every few months, since November of 2025 when the vehicle was serviced, but would go after the vehicle was turned off. This was dismissed as an electric glitch due to a firmware update after researching online to find this was a common occurrence and would just be fixed the next time the vehicle was serviced. Incident date: Apr 29, 2026
We have been documenting a oil leak on the timing chain cam shaft cover. When the motor heats up the engine seeps/leaks oil on the top of the side of engine. This has been documented for the past few months starting at 37,099 miles when we noticed it, date of first notice was on 4/29/2026. We have pic with time stamps and have taken it to dealership to inspect and have written many times of the is
... sue. We have also filed a consumer affairs and BBB autoline complaints. This is an issue safety issue bc oil can start a car fire, it can also cause a motor to malfunction. This is a safety concern. The dealer says their is no leak at all but they wipe off oil and it returns that an issue. We bought this pathfinder in Oct of 2025 and put on now around 42k miles and it is still an active issue.Read more
