THE DEALERSHIP ASSURED ME THAT I DID NOT NEED TIRES. I HAD MY OIL CHANGED AND MY TIRES ROTATED INCLUDING A FRONT END ALIGNMENT AND AN INSPECTION. AROUND AND BROUGHT IT RIGHT BACK.THE DEALER PUT MY CAR ON A MACHINE AND TOLD ME THE ISSUE IS "CODE C161E" -INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH AWD CONTROL PUMP AND THIS PART ALONE WOULD COST $2000.00.MY CAR IS A 2009 WITH ONLY 31000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY THREE YEAR WARRANTY IS UP HOWEVER I STILL HAVE 5000 MILES. HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN WITH SUCH MINIMAL MILES? I DRIVE MY CAR TO WORK AND HOME MOSTLY AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT. AT THIS BEND OR ELBOW, THE MANUFACTURER PLACED A THICK METAL SHIELD, PRESUMABLY TO PROTECT A WEAK POINT. MY CAR IS WELL KEPT AND GARAGED AT NIGHT. IN NOVEMBER 2012, I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CAR AND WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC OF 20 YEARS THAT MY "TOTAL FRONT END" ON THE CAR NEEDED REPLACED. THIS REQUIRED THE REPLACEMENT OF GASKETS, AN OAL FLEX, RACK & PINION, AND A WHEEL ALIGNMENT. IT WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE JOB WITH THE EXPLANATION GIVEN THAT IT WAS "WORN OUT." NOW, THE STEERING IS A PROBLEM WITH
... STRANGE SOUNDS AND THE PERIODIC MOVEMENT OF THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN DRIVING. AN INSPECTION OF THAT DISCLOSED THAT NOW, THE "INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ON THE STEERING WHEEL" NEEDS REPLACED. AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET, I AM FINDING OUT THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL CARS RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THAT IS THE CASE FOR THIS CAR. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTICES FOR THIS. I LOVE MY CAR BUT AM WONDERING WHY SUCH AN EXPENSIVE CAR (AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE) IS HAVING ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS NOW. MY CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH A PUSH BUTTON START AND TWO TIMES IN A ROW WHEN I PRESSED THE BUTTON TO START THE ENGINE IT JUST MADE THIS LOUD "SCREECH"/MECHANICAL SOUND. IT HAS DONE THIS TWO SEPARATE DAYS (2/20/204 & 2/22/2014). BOTH TIMES IT DID IT TWICE AND STARTED ON THE 3RD ATTEMPT. *TR
