I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS OVER SEVERAL MONTHS WHEN I STEP ON THE BRAKE , IT GOES TO THE FLOOR. I QUICKLY PUMP THE BRAKES AND BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS RETURNS. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN TIMES WHERE BRAKE PEDAL FEELS MUSHY. I TOOK TO LOCAL DEALER AFTER ALMOST REAR ENDING A VEHICLE WHEN IT STOPPED SUDDENLY.. I TOLD THEM I HAD RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE BUT IT HAD TOLD ME TO WAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTION.

THEY PERFORMED AN ABS RECALL INSPECTION AND TOLD ME CAR WAS FINE......".I SAID NO IT'S NOT AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW. THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME. OCT 2ND THE BRAKE FAILED AND IN AVOIDING ANOTHER CAR I WENT INTO THE DITCH CAUSING DAMAGE TO CAR AND MILD WHIPLASH. CAR WAS TOWED. I INFORMED DEALER AND ASKED WHAT I SHOULD DO.......HE SAID THEY COULD FLUSH SYSTEM BUT MOST LIKELY THE ABS UNIT NEEDED REPLACING AND THEY DID NOT HAVE IT. I TALKED TO MITCHUBISHI N.AWHO INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL........I NOW HAVE A CAR THAT INSURANCE WILL FIX BUT I WILL PAY 500.00 DEDUCTIBLE FOR A CAR THAT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE, SO NOW WHAT DO I DO? I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JULY THAT THE BRAKES COULD FAIL IF THE ABS IS ACTIVATED. MITSUBISHI REFERRED ME TO A DEALER (THE ONLY DEALER IN NEVADA). THE DEALER SAID THEY CAN'T MAKE ANY REPAIRS, BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE CAR. SO, I CALLED MITSUBISHI, AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO REPAIR SOLUTION AVAILABLE. SO I REQUESTED A LOANER, SINCE MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THEY TOLD ME THE

THEY SAID THEY AREN'T AUTHORIZED TO MAKE ANY DECISIONS, AND THAT ONLY THE DEALERSHIP CAN OPT TO TOW/REPAIR THE CAR OR SUPPLY A LOANER. THE DEALER INDICATED THEY WERE ONLY TESTING THE BRAKING SYSTEM BY DRIVING IT AND WHEN THE INCIDENT DID NOT PRODUCE THE SAME RESULT, THAT WAS THE END OF THEIR RESPONSIBILITY UNTIL I RECEIVED A CERTIFIED LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED IN MAY 2015 AND IT IS NOW THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER 2015. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD BE IN CONTACT WITH THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE ABOUT WHAT TO DO NEXT TO GET MY VEHICLE FIXED AND TO GIVE ME A RENTAL CAR IN THE MEAN TIME (I COULDN'T GET TO WORK ON 9/24 OR 9/25 BECAUSE I LIVE AN HOUR FROM WORK). IN THE EVENING OF 9/25, THE SERVICE MANAGER CALLED ME BACK AND TOLD ME THAT THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS NOT WILLING TO PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR BECAUSE THE RECALL DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE ABS PUMP "LEAKING". THE RECALL ONLY MENTIONS THE VALVES WITHIN THE PUMP "STICKING", AND BECAUSE OF THAT, CANNOT DETERMINE YET IF MY CAR IS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THAT ADDITIONAL TESTS NEED TO BE DONE, SO THEY WON'T PROVIDE ME WITH A RENTAL CAR YET. HE GAVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER TO MITSUBISHI SERVICE CENTER TO TRY GETTING A RENTAL CAR.
