• During the short time I have owned this vehicle the automatic emergency braking system has engaged 3-4 times when there was no object in front of the vehicle. The vehicle can be made available upon request. • All incidents happened when driving on the freeway. Fortunately no one was following me which could have resulted in my being rear ended for a sudden stop. • I took the vehicle into
... the dealership service center today (8/8/25) where they told me it is normal and I should just be a good driver, keeping my distance from vehicle to the front of me. They stated that if they were to replace it the same thing would occur. The problem has not been reproduced by the service center. • When these issues have occurred on one occasion the braking alert sounded ( beeping noise) and then the car started braking. On the other occurrences I do not recall the alert. The car just started braking. Other than that there were no warnings it was going to happen.Read more

The vehicle experienced sudden loss of engine power accompanied by the illumination of the EPC (Electronic Power Control) warning light. The exact cause is fuel injection, but the issue appears related to the know EVAP problem on this car model. The problem may still be reproducible. The vehicle stalled multiple times while driving on a state highway (steady low load) and when approaching traffic.
... In each case, I had to come to a complete stop and restart the engine. This posed a serious risk of rear-end collisions or being struck by cross traffic, especially when power was lost during deceleration or merging. The EPC light appeared each time the issue occurred, immediately after the engine lost power. No other warning lights or messages were observed prior to/after the failure. The problem began occurring intermittently and without prior symptoms.Read more

I have a 2024 Nissan Rogue Platinum with a faulty infotainment system. The screen has not worked since the day I took delivery of the car, the dealership assured me only a simple update would be needed to fix the issue. However, several months and only 3k miles later, I've had the screen replaced on the car. Unfortunately, this has not fixed the issue, it still malfunctions. (Photo attached is a
... month after the replacement) From small pixel, to green lines, and even completely blacking out. The volume stops working, the backup camera done engage, and the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. I have been to the dealership over 5 times for this issues and have contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs multiple times, and yet I still have a faulty infotainment system. I am not sure why this is happening but I know I am not the only one. I was actually referred to fill out this for by someone else also having this issue. I purchased a new car for safety and reliability which have yet to see from this vehicle. Nissan keeps dismissing my concerns, they essentially told me the car is perfectly fine and functioning to standard. But, how can this be safe? I would be safer in a car from the 90's. I feel cheated, lied to, and taken advantage of. And I KNOW I am not the only one, and now just in the USA, but worldwide.Read more

First Incident [XXX], in Columbia SC driving in parking lot On Post, approx 10pm, blocking traffic. Car shut down and MMI disappeared. After approximately 20-30 minutes car started, still no screen. I was able to drive it. Next day, Rebooted per Google, took to dealership who said I should make sure I used premium gas. When I said I did I was told to be careful which gas station I bought it from.
... And since the screen was back up they couldn’t do anything. I called the Corporate office who had them run a full systems check. All with MMI was well until [XXX] at [XXX]pm. Driving in Columbia SC screen disappeared again but car did not stop this time. I called dealership who told me to press the volume button until it rebooted. It didn’t work. I was told to bring it in. The Audi App sent me a Headlight Assistant Malfunction Warning! message at 7:44pm also, same evening as the MMI incident. Copy of current screen and 10/24 service receipt. This is a dangerous situation as someone almost hit the back of my car during the first incident since the stop was so sudden ([XXX]) I was blocking the driveway and cars had to backup and detour in a small dark area. The car prior to the locked engine it ran well without any problems. While driving the car all of a sudden it began to stall. The car began to make a really loud clanking noise before the engine locked up. Due to the circumstances a mobile mechanic was called out to the location to assess the situation. The mobile mechanic completed the diagnostic with a car reader to which it displayed code P0
... 011 code. To ensure it wasn't the car's battery the battery was replaced with a new one thinking that would remedy the situation of the car not starting. However, once this was completed the car wouldn't start again. Per the mobile mechanic conclusion, he stated that the engine was locked up. The car was towed to KIA Sunrise - Sunrise, FL on February 15, 2025. I inform them of the problem that the engine was locked. They stated that they would perform a diagnostic for an authorization fee of $250.00 to which I agreed for KIA Sunrise to do the diagnostic on the car. Based on their conclusion they attested that the engine was locked up as I had informed them. I mentioned that there was a recall on the engine of KIA Soltos 2021 due to engine failure at that point they stated that KIA Corp office had yet to send them notification of the recall relating to the engine failure. They stated for me to wait till April 2025 when the recall for the engine failure would have been received by them from Corp to which I did however, by then I was informed that they now wanted an additional $500 for a diagnostic. KIA Sunrise, stated that due to the engine being locked up they wouldn't look into it until $500.00 was paid however, they refused to take into consideration the $250.00 that was already not long ago, which based on the communication that was had they stated that was the authorization amount for them to do a full diagnostic knowing that the engine was locked up. However, at a later time they wanted more money to do a diagnostic on an engine that was still locked up.Read more

I have a 2017 Ridgeline. I bought it brand new. Always keep up with the maintenance, keep it clean and well taken care of. I only have 45,000 miles on it. A few days ago the engine failed on me while on the freeway. Limped it off the freeway as it made a horrendous sound, like marbles in the engine. I had it towed, at a cost of $275. I took it to Honda. I told them I was aware of the NHTSA invest
... igation into the the 2017-2019 Ridgeline reports of failing connecting rod bearings. They said they were not aware of that and it was not showing on the recall list for my specific vehicle . Their diagnostic came back requiring a short block replacement as "oil was coming from the oil pan rod bearing." They took it the warranty department, as the original warranty of 5yrs/60,000mi has passed. Honda is going to cover 75% of a $9,738.35 bill because of the low mileage on the vehicle, which brings the cost to "only $1,850." They’re giving me a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on their work. They’re also recommending that I do a 100,000 miles service that would require a replacement of a timing belt, water pump, drive belt, etc. that would cost an additional $2,123.58. It seems a bit counterintuitive to do that service since I only have 45,000 miles on an eight year-old truck that has been kept up on its regular maintenance schedule. The initial cost to do the diagnostic was stated at $199. I received a call to approve $697 to break down the engine to do further evaluation. After receiving the results of their evaluation, I am now awaiting the estimate with a breakdown of costs. I have yet to receive that, but can provide it when available. The vehicle is still sitting at the Honda service center. I have also contacted Honda directly and have opened a case with them.Read more

I am reporting a persistent and safety-relevant defect in my 2012 Jeep Wrangler with the 3.6L Pentastar engine. The vehicle is experiencing misfires on multiple cylinders, especially cylinders 1 and 5, triggering codes P0300, P0301, and P0305. These misfires result in loss of power, hesitation, and rough idle, creating serious safety concerns during acceleration or highway driving. Despite replac
... ing spark plugs, ignition coils, the crankshaft position sensor, purge valve, and both oxygen sensors, the problem continues. The vehicle has just 83,000 miles and is currently at a certified third-party repair facility. Multiple mechanics believe the issue stems from known defects in the left (Bank 1) cylinder head or valve train components—an issue Chrysler previously acknowledged via TSBs and a 10yr/150k mile extended warranty on select VINs. I contacted Jeep Cares and requested goodwill support, but they refused to even discuss the issue because my Jeep is not at a dealership. This leaves owners like me with limited, expensive options despite being affected by a well-documented defect. Jeep forums and independent shops have seen widespread misfire problems on early 3.6L Pentastar engines, especially 2012-2013 models. I urge NHTSA to investigate this pattern of failure. The misfires impact driveability and safety, and the manufacturer has not offered sufficient resolution or consistent support to affected customers. I’m happy to provide additional information, documentation, or diagnostics.Read more

May 14, 2025 Dear NHTSA, I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, which has only 60,000 miles and has already required several major repairs that raise serious safety concerns. To date, I have had to replace three brake calipers and the emergency brake, at a cost of over $2,500. The calipers were seizing, and the emergency brake would not release proper
... ly, both of which posed clear risks while driving. I understand through forums and peer discussions that other owners have faced similar issues. In addition, my vehicle now has an oil leak that will cost over $700 to repair, and the windshield washer fluid hose burst, requiring another replacement. These repeated failures on a relatively low-mileage vehicle suggest underlying quality and reliability issues. I believe these concerns warrant review, particularly the safety-related brake defects. I respectfully ask NHTSA to investigate whether these failures are part of a broader pattern that may justify further scrutiny or a formal recall. Thank you for your attention.Read more

I urge the NHTSA to thoroughly investigate this matter to determine whether this ongoing issue with the starter poses a broader public safety concern and qualifies for regulatory or enforcement action.Read more
