There were no displays, and I started the car and let it run. I did not smell any burning plastic. On Sunday [XXX]. I drop my car to family dollars and return back home. I did not smell any burning plastic. At 3:04PM Stacy Wright and myself were driving on the way to a meeting in Naperville, Il. At 3:14 PM my car started smelling like burning plastic. At 3: 16 PM heavy black smoke was coming through the vent. I immediately turned left on [XXX] in front of White Castle and stopped the car. At this time the front engine of the car was on fire and the car was full of thick black smoke. I told my passengers on the passenger side to get out of the car and run. It’s on fire. I ran towards White Castle leaving my driver's door opened. I turned around to take a picture of my car on fire burning severely at 3:18 PM. Fire was coming from the front hood of the car. At 3:20PM. I have owned this F-150 since new and most of its life it has been stored indoors. Recently I noted that any time the vehicle is driven in the rain or left outside while it rains, the rear corners of the cab leaks water. The source of that water is a failed seal surrounding the rear window, which I diagnosed in my shop after removing the headliner and other trim in order to observe the leaking wit

The issue that I noted during the repair was that the airbags that are mounted above the rear passenger windows in the headliner on both sides of the vehicles wicked up moisture that had been caught by the headliner. They were both wet to the touch, which was concerning. Further, the airbag inflator which is mounted in the rear corner post of the vehicle and the seatbelt recoil mechanism both also showed signs that they also recieve moisture from this leak. The vehicle is out of warranty, so there is no manufacturer remedy for the issue unless I were to pay for a complete rear window reseal. I did not have a dealer take a look at this issue at this time. Multiple other owners of F150's of this age have had similar issues with water leaking into the cabin and leaching into the airbags, as described in numberous online forums.Read more

I was driving about 45 mph when the car just turned off the first time. I was able to put it in neutral and start it back up to get to the side of the road and it died on me again. I went to drive it and it died before I could accelerate to a decent speed, got it cranked and rolling again and it slowly got up to 40 mph, but the second I started to slow down again it would die. So I had it towed to my mechanic who at first thought it was because the timing chain had a lot of slack in it, assuming it jumped time so he changed that, but it was still dying. He ended up finding the cause to be the exhaust cam sprocket? I’ve never heard of this before but I do know that ever since I bought the car 3 years ago it never felt like it would get up and go whenever I hit the gas. When he jacked the car up to see what was going on, upon inspection he noticed the sway bar had come loose on the passenger and driver side of the car and that the sub frame on the driver side of the car was completely rusted through. The mechanic was able to reattach the sway bar, but advised not to drive it until the sub frame could be fixed. I contacted a certified welder and had my car towed to the welder to have the frame welded back together. The certified welder was only able to partially weld the frame and stated that the car would need the frame replaced because it was too rusted out to properly fix and that it was not safe to drive. Now I’m without a vehicle even though the car is in great running condition because the frame is unable to be fixed and the cost to buy a new frame and have the work done is more than the car kbb values the car for. I don’t know why this issue hasn’t been recalled and fixed. I could have crashed and died and my children left without a mother. It’s sad to see so many complaints and nothing done about it.Read more

It finally took a mechanic to tell me it is an issue with Kia's and a recall due to the replacement of the motor because the cars are losing oil. I do not have an oil leak but losing it every week and replacing it and it is expensive for an oil change and a gallon of oil constantly. I have reached out to KIA Manufacturer and case was denied, BBB and KIA denied it all the way, through where I went has far as to the attributor. Georgia Attorney General and they sent a letter to the Bulldog KIA in Athens and they said I have to go through the process of either hearing a thumping noise or motor light flashing constantly and or car shuts off before my motor can be replace. None of this has happened. I had to pay out of pocket for a tune up which was over $300 in Sept 2023 and again early this year 2023 and no reimbursement but it’s on my KIA receipts due to oil consumption (leaking of oil) it’s causing me to keep replacing the spark plugs. Renting vehicles when they would have to keep my vehicle to replace the spark plugs, and missing time from work. They will not compensate me for it, replace the motor, and or provide me another vehicle. I feel also because I am a woman that I am racially profiled, I have been very professional, calm, and provided more than enough time, effort, and providing all the information to KIA and I am not getting nowhere or through to anyone that will hear me or understand what I am going through. Found out they were going to send a tow truck and that was it. I had several pups on board and had to get them safe. So I figured out how to drive it with no power steering all the way back to Houston. W
... hile driving we got into some rain. Which for whatever reason the rain kicked the power steering on for just 5 or less seconds. This kept happening on and off while in wet road conditions. I was freaked out as the change made the steering go from impossible to beyond sensitive. We could have so easily flipped had I not been paying attention and driving at a slow speed. This also made all the safety features not accessible. No blind spot, cruise control, lane change or any of the important functions this van is equipped with. I would like to note that MB had to replace the engine due to a defect. Took 4 plus months. I have had issues ever since. Engine light came on all 4 of my trips. I know one that was the reason is VOX sensor. Fixed it and then happened next trip. Plus other sensors replaced. This van has been horrible! Bought it and was told they run up to 500k and these new engines they expect to see a million miles. I can’t even get it to 100k I called MB USA and started a complaint. They acted concerned and would contact me within 48 hours. Never to hear back from anyone. This was the same response when the engine malfunctioned. There was no visible damage to seal or water damage in cargo area. I was told this is problem know to Mercedes as they have issued a bulletin on how to repair it. This has been happening for years without a resolution to this problem. I was told in my case it had been leaking over an extended amount of time and there was know way to discover it until the damage is done. I find that hard to believe that Mercedes would not recall this and find a remedy before it results in a serious accident or death. A car stopping on busy road or highway with a fast speed of traffic following is a tragedy waiting to happen. I had no warning of the potential danger I was in until it happened. The damage it causes is around $1,600 for a rubber piece that gets loose and allows water to damage the fuel pump. And because that piece is not covered under extended warranty the burden is put on the owner which it unfair to say the least.Read more

The passenger side door keeps unlatching itself. So, when I am driving on a street, I will sometimes occasionally get "Passenger Side door Ajar" warning message that pops up on my dash, and sure enough, the door is open. I have to lean over and quickly slam it shut. I've noticed this happens particularly when driving on a bumpier road. I know there has been similar recalls for this same problem

i was driving abut 25 miles per hour on [XXX] . i split second my car start shake and rapidly stop . All electronic messages were displayed . My all safety fixtures stop working included air bags. It appears the mileage of when the original 2020 Ignition Coil repair was complete, is “coincidentally” the exact mileage the Ignition Coil went out again (20k miles). Assuming the Ignition Coil used to remedy said recall back in 2020 is faulty; as Ignition Coils should last within 80k-110k miles. On Sunday, 4/14 as I was driving, my Jeep suddenly lost power and stalled. I was able to get to a median. I waited a few minutes, started the vehicle and was able to reach my destination.
