My vehicle has been a one owner vehicle, my mother and now me as she passed on 2 April 2024. My vehicle has been stored in a garage except when it is being driven. My vehicle has been taken care of extremely well and maintenance done as required. The oil has been changed every 3,000 miles since it has been owned. Approximately in June 2024 I began to notice my dashboard was sticky, cracking and ac
... tually MELTING! It gets worse as long as it is out of the garage,in the heat/sun and humidity for any length of time. The longer times goes that the car is in these conditions it gets shiny that the reflection makes a glare which makes seeing difficult! I went to the dealership where the vehicle was purchased brand new, Milton Ruben, Augusta GA 30907. Prior to going to the dealership, I got online to do a search to see why this could be happening and discovered many complaints like mine all over the US had been submitted in previous years.I began reading the complaints and discovered the problem was due to Toyota using defective material to make their dashboards in Toyota/Lexus vehicles made in 2007-2011.I discovered there had been a recall or campaign for these vehicles, it had been extended once or twice until 2019.MY PROBLEM IS THAT I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION OR DID MY MOTHER!We would have immediately taken our vehicles into the dealership.I CANNOT HELP THAT THE RECALL OR CAMPAIGN FOR THIS ISSUE HAD EXPIRED PRIOR TO MY CAR SHOWING A PROBLEM!While reading the complaints I noticed there was a class action lawsuit filed, but I don't know the outcome.I was told by the dealership that they were aware of the problem but there wasn't anything they could do except replace the dashboard at my expense.TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!They told me that I would need to call the corporate office to see what they could do.I did, submit a claim, file #240802000525 2 Aug 2024.Toyota didn't reply but was told by the case manager that my case was closed without action. This 2024 Jeep has a serious issue that needs immediate attention. Jeep should be held accountable and repairs to new vehicles with less than 1000 miles should be a priority. We are working with Jeep to see if a different dealer for repair is an option. Tennessee Lemon Law timeline of 30 days out of service is rapidly ticking away and Jeep does not care at all. If both brake and throttle pedals are depressed simultaneously for a fraction of a second the software does two things: 1) raises a warning to that effect on the computer display and, 2) greatly reduces motor output, limiting acceleration. Item two is the safety concern. Removing the foot from the left pedal does not immediately remove the power restriction. There is a few second delay for tha
... t to take place. As a result I find myself expecting to be able to merge rapidly or complete a turn, or cross in front of oncoming traffic but am left in a precarious position in traffic unable to move as expected to avoid a potential collision. This is a behavior that I have not experienced with a conventional engine powered vehicle. In addition when this two-foot power-down mode is waiting to clear, and I am sitting stationary on a steep up incline, the vehicle can slip backwards downhill. The only solution to this issue may be to push the park button on the right control stalk to stop this rolling.Read more

April 2024: Tesla Model X repeatedly failed to download firmware updates, although offered via the car’s UI. The car uses the connected WiFi to download several gigabytes of data every month, but ultimately does not apply any updates. This is a serious safety issue, since it prevents all future software update recalls from being available to this vehicle. May 15, 2024: Tesla failed to fix this
... issue through remote diagnosis, and requested a service center visit. Tesla engineers diagnosed the vehicle at the Burlingame CA Service Center, and spoke to me on the phone that the root cause was a recent firmware upgrade that has permanently bricked the ECU unit, which now needs to be replaced. Since this ECU unit is not user-accessible or user-serviceable, there is no way for this to have been caused by the customer. Tesla quoted $2048 to fix it, out of pocket, even though this damage was not caused by the customer, or related to regular wear-and-tear, but (as acknowledged by Tesla) caused due to a faulty firmware update issued by Tesla themselves. May 17, 2024: After pointing this out to them, Tesla managers called me, offering to discount the repair by 25%. Many similar complaints about the exact same part (ECU unit) and the same mode of failure (bricked after buggy firmware update) can be found shared online by others. This is a systemic issue, and not a one-off failure for my car alone. [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] All I am requesting is that Tesla fix this issue at their own cost and make my purchase whole, but Tesla has not honored that request so far. Thank you!
