The following is a letter we sent to Kia 3 months ago regarding the same issue happening multiple times with our car. They held the car under investigation, did not fix anything, and gave it back to us in terrible condition (cleanliness). I attached a copy of the letter to this submission. After the appointment, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, I noticed the check engine light was still on when we got into the car. Despite this, I drove home and then to the dealership, where I explained the situation and showed the video to the service writer. Later that day, our service writer informed me via text that there were “No faults in system that would indicate issue that would cause vehicle stalling” and suggested a transmission update recall might be related. I requested the code for the check engine light but was told “no code stored for check engine light.” Given these circumstances, I have several pressing concerns: My car turned off in the middle of a busy street and wouldn’t restart immediately, creating a hazardous situation. This incident poses a significant safety risk. What if this had occurred on a freeway or my daughters were driving my car? The dealership's assertion that no issues were found is hard to believe given the clear malfunctions and present check engine light. I then put the car into park which stopped the car with a jerk. After a few minutes I turned the car off as the brakes had not come back. I sat in the driveway blocking it. As I sat there I checked the screen for any error messages or warnings and saw none. After about 10 or 15 minutes I tried the pedal again and got pressure. I was able to start the car and pulled it into the parking spot. I then called Totota roadside service and had the car towed to my house. Today as instructed by Toyota service they sent a tow truck to my house to tow it to the dealership service department. The MDPS malfunction happened on local street before, but that was my 1st MDPS malfunction experience while I was on freeway and it was very scary and dangerous. I reported the incident to San Leandro Hyundai dealership on 5/31/2024 because Hyundai is aware of this malfunction and extended the MDPS warranty to 15 years. The mechanic from San Leandro Hyundai acknowledged the issue and found a fault in the MDPS. However, the dealership refused to repair or replace the MDPS because the dealership claimed the part (56310-C2700), steering column & shaft assembly, is not covered by the extended warranty. San Leandro Hyundai dealership knew there was a problem, but disregarded driver safety on highway. Please see MDPS warning light from my pictures and I have video recording of the incident if needed. The infotainment center is prematurely delaminating/failing. On various Subaru forums, it appears this is a common issue on the year/model I own. While this may not seem safety related on the surface, the failing screen is incredibly distracting while driving depending on where the delamination occurs. The multi-function control valve’s refueling float stays stuck in an open position and is the cause of this issue. “Rich fuel” gets into the engine and the engine will shut down. One month into ownership of my 2024 Palisade Limited AWD, I was approaching a stop light going ~20 mph and started to apply the brakes as I passed over some slightly bumpy ground. The car lurched forward repeatedly as the brakes were applied, bouncing forward in spurts rather than stopping and taking twice as long to stop than it should have; I was one foot from rear-ending the car in front of me
... despite beginning to break with plenty of time to stop - this is so far from how an ABS system is supposed to work and I've never experienced it in another car. Hyundai corporate has told me that, upon testing other Palisades, they have discovered that this happens in ALL 2024 Palisades. This is troubling for several reasons: 1) The car exhibited an inability to effectively brake in a very common situation (braking when traveling at low speeds on slightly bumpy ground). Several people have noted this experience in Reddit posts; 2) I have been driving for 25 years; I’ve driven other cars with antilock brake systems and have never been in a wreck. This is unlike any experience I’ve ever had in a car and it’s very abnormal / incredibly dangerous; 3) When asked to recreate the issue at the dealership, the head mechanic rode with me and said, “The car shouldn’t do that,” when it occurred with him the car. It was clear that he found it to be very concerning behavior. Hyundai kept the car in the shop for 2 days shy of a month. At the beginning of the month, they apparently did not know that the 2024 Palisade behaved this way. Over the course of the month, they learned that this is how a Palisade behaves when driven over uneven ground at moderate to low speeds because they tried it with other cars they had on hand. This vehicle is prone to rear-end cars in front of it when stopping and also to bouncing out in the middle of an intersection when approaching a stoplight /stop sign. It will kill people of unaddressed. There are no messages / warning lights on in the car.Read more

It suddenly lost power and slowly hopped through the intersection. At 60k the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel quit working. When we asked the Nissan Dealership about it, we were told that was typical and it would slowly lose all the functionality of the steering wheel controls. All the functionality was gone by 70k miles. We have learned that Nissan's transmissions are very problematic and these situations are typical as you get closer to 120k miles. We planned to have this car for several more years. If we sell it and buy a different car we are out several thousand dollars or if we keep it we will likely have to pay for a new transmission also several thousand dollars.Read more

It’s been happening for a few months- I initially thought my child wasn’t clicking it in all the way but even after double checking it myself and when it happened in the driver seat this week- I believe it is not user error. Abs light comes on and disables the cruise controls. Says abs brake failure and I have researched this and found it is a common problem. 6 speed Transmission is turning on check engine light and says gear 5 and gear 6 has improper ratio. Shifts hard into gear5 and won't downshift for passing gear.

This vehicle has intermiitent stalling when accelerating and has died in the middle of an intersection several times leaving me vulnerable to oncoming traffic. This has been happening on a daily occurence for months.
