The spare tire was placed on the vehicle, and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who acknowledged the lug nut failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The lug nuts on the other wheels were also swollen. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Reduced visibility has endangered my safety and the safety of others, particularly on unlit or busy roads where clear vision is essential. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the issue has been confirmed by the Acura dealership on two separate occasions. Each time, they recommended a $2,000 repair due to the need to replace the entire headlight assemblies, as the dimming is related to a reflective film issue that cannot be fixed by merely replacing the bulb. This problem is persistent and has been professionally diagnosed. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? Yes, the vehicle has been inspected by both the Acura dealership and a third-party service provider, Midas. The issue has been clearly documented by both parties, and the recommended solution has been consistent: full replacement of both headlight assemblies due to the reflective film defect. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps or error messages to indicate the dimming issue. However, I began noticing the brightness gradually worsening over the past few years, forcing me to rely on high beams at night. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I found out about the recall when I was researching how to operate my vehicle. I made an appointment to have the recall repair made on April 5, 2024. On April 8. 2024, the dealer called back the Service Manager stated, "They aren't processing the recalls unless the vehicle is on the side of the road."
... I called several other dealers and they stated they also would not repair the vehicle. On [XXX], the engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm fractured and separated from the tensioner backing plate. The oil pump drive belt lost teeth and the car lost engine oil pressure. There was a loss of motive power and a loss of mechanical vacuum pump the vehicle lost all power and shut down. I was sitting at a light in the middle of the street at 11:30 PM. The vehicle could have shut down on the highway. I had just exited the highway, it was late at night and dark. Someone could have run into the back of my vehicle. I had the vehicle towed to Planet Ford in Spring, TX. After negotiating with them they worked on the engine but the car would not start. Then they said it needed a new battery and once installed the vehicle still did not run properly. They stated I needed to pay for a diagnostic because transmission lights are coming on. I refused because the damage was 100% caused by Ford's irresponsibility and neglect. The Recall stated repairs were supposed to be made at no charge. Planet Ford is now saying they have to put in a request to the Ford Corporation to ask if Ford will assist me with the cost of repairs. On Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at around 5AM I was sitting in the Starbucks parking lot outside of the Detroit Metro (DTW) airport when this issue began. I had just started my car and could feel it was sluggish and was making a significant amount of noise, which was present in park and neutral, but not so much while in gear, unless I was stopped at a stop sign or stationary. ... nd each day after when I started the vehicle to go to work, I could hear that the noise was progressively getting worse. So, I determined that it was not a fluke and took my car into a Ford dealership to have the oil changed and a full inspection done. They explained to me that the water pump had failed and was leaking, very slowly, but externally through the "weep hole". They were going to charge me $1,300 to repair. So, I called a local shop that I know is reputable and they confirmed the water pump leak but determined that the noise I was hearing was not the water pump, but actually a cracked flexplate. The noise originated near the starter, and the shop ran a camera through the inspection hole confirming this. After I found that the flexplate was cracked, I did not continue to drive it, but scheduled a repair to begin on Thursday, October 24th at the reputable shop I mentioned above. To complete the repair, they needed to drop the cradle, remove the transmission and support the engine. This in total cost me $1,729.60. The flexplate has not been inspected by the mfg., police, insurance, etc., as there was no need. I did not have an extended warranty and though my car is only 4 years old, it was beyond the warranty in miles. No lights appeared on the dash, and there were no error codes present. The flexplate cracking could have resulted in catastrophic failure of the engine or transmission, and I could have very well lost control of my vehicle. If I was driving on the highway during a failure, my safety as well as others would have been put in serious danger.Read more

Their diagnostics show a complete failure of all 3 data buses and failure of the serial data gateway. Troubleshooting thus far has been unsuccessful. During the failure, all errors possible are lit on the warning lamps and the driver information center displays warnings for all vehicle modules. The attached photo was taken during one of the events after pulling off the freeway. While traveling at freeway speeds, the information on the screen was the same indicating no speed. The lower control arm broke off of the subframe during daily commute on the highway, which left the car completely immobilized and had to be towed. An inspection was done and not replacement of rear lights wiring. I came very close to several rear-end collisions as I hadn't realized no rear lights in May 2024. Now, I'm getting "System Off to save battery. Please turn ignition off or start engine" again on the console. I've contacted Ford at Dearborn and was referred back to local dealership and they have given me the run around. I was in a week and half ago to show them all the paperwork, was told they'd look it over and give me a call. I've heard nothing. I'm upset that the recall work wasn't done in 2020 but had to pay for the same work to be done in 2024. Since the work done in May 2024 really didn't handle the battery being drained, I'd like a new pickup as this one seems to be a lemon, or the dealership isn't doing what they said they did. I can only assume the previous owner the car was reposed from was also unaware of this as well. I believe Mercedes-Benz should still cover the cost of this repair. The brakes sometimes lock up after use, or don’t disengage ( on one side) and the truck swerves ( steering wheel turns to the right ) into the next lane. I have to over correct and you can hear the brakes squeal. I will have to get off the freeway or the road. I am on trying to track off a couple of times for 5 to 10 minutes Until it stops doing it. For the 2nd row passenger seat the clip has broken. You can not safely have a passenger in the seat. I have been trying for over a year to get the part. On 1/31/24, while merging onto a highway(approx 45 mph), I accelerated into the lane in front of a truck. As I pressed the gas pedal nothing happened. The engine did not rev and I did not accelerate. ... e of loss of motive power was on 3/11/24. Turning right on a residential street (approx 15 mph), the car demonstrated the exact same issue. In both cases no warning lights or messages came up, and the 'fix' was the same. Starting approximately 6/15/24 the vehicle began displaying the message "Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable" while driving. I would experience a loss of motive power temporarily, coast for 5-10 seconds, the vehicle would switch to 'gas mode' and the combustion engine would take over.This happened between 15-20 times over the following 2 months. I was told by the dealership they couldn't do anything about it unless I had video or picture proof of the issue. I obtained both and was told the dealership would no longer take my vehicle in for repairs, only scheduled maintenance. The light turned green and she began to accelerate when all of the error lights on the dash lit up, then the dash info system and infotainment system went out followed by the engine turning off and not restarting. ... no one was injured. I took the car to the dealer and after nearly a week of testing they found nothing wrong and found no error codes in the system. They ere not able to replicate the problem. However, once we got the vehicle back a similar instance happed again, except just the dash info system and infotainment system went out and the car was still drivable. Once restarted the electronics came back on as normal. It has not happened again at this point. Had the first incident happened at a higher rate of speed a severe injury or fatality could have occurred.Read more
