ISSUE TYPE: Safety Concern “Brakes Auto Engage When Driving At ANY Speed and Parking Brake Lever Is Raised” DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM: I inadvertently lifted up on the Parking Brake switch in center console while driving about 30mph, trying to turn off a different switch on the console. ... Parking Brake but is also an Emergency Brake (I discovered) that can be triggered by anyone who has their hand around the center console and accidentally raises this switch. This poses a serious safety risk to passengers and causing rear-end collisions! STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1Drive the vehicle at any speed (cruise, increasing/decreasing) 2Lift up the Parking Brake lever only momentarily and release 3The vehicle immediately slams-on full rear-brakes then releases 4Hold the switch UP for longer period - experience a full-on emergency stop. Poor excuse for Honda's Parking Brake system. Emergency Brake should be located elsewhere on the dash away from console. DEALER SERVICE: Told me this is normal, as lifting the Parking Brake "up" will engage the rear wheel calipers full-on REGARDLESS of speed! This is not normal Parking Brake action and very dangerous. The manual does not point out this is a FULL-ON braking. They say it "will assist in braking". This is just wrong & needs a software correction now. The Parking Brake should never be able to engage when the wheels are turning at ANY speed. We don't need a 2 wheel Emergency Brake for a super-obscure, super-rare brake failure (if ever). CORRECTIVE ACTION: Simple software modification needed... if the Parking Brake lever is lifted (accidentally) AND the wheels are turning it should INHIBIT the brakes from being slammed-on. An Emergency Brake should be in a separate place on the dash. Honda should fix this very dangerous condition to make it a Parking Brake ONLY. I took the car in for a second time to be serviced by Hyundai dealer They said that they reset the software. About a week later I got the transmission error message again, along with the difficulty of engage in the transmission. The workaround I had for this was to turn the car off and turn it back on again and that would get rid of the transmission error message until the next day. I plan to take my car in to a Hyundai dealer this week and report to them that I’ve been having this transmission error message almost daily for the last week. This problem makes the car feel unreliable, and it is a potential safety risk to not be able to accelerate and change gear when operating the vehicle. After shutting the vehicle off and restarting it, most warnings disappeared, but a few related to the brakes remained, which was very concerning. Despite being able to drive afterward, I was worried about brake safety. Later, when I started the car again, no ADAS faults were present. The second incident happened as I was leaving my apartment complex, forcing me to stop in the middle of the road due to the same issue. After the first highway incident, I took the car to Honda, as it was still under warranty. They inspected it but dismissed the problem, stating all they saw on the code reader were “junk codes” and that nothing was wrong. I plan to return to Honda after the second incident, but I fear they will give the same explanation. Online research reveals that many others have experienced almost identical issues. This is an extremely dangerous flaw in the system that requires immediate investigation and a recall before someone gets seriously hurt.Read more

The hyundai genesis and the genesis G80 have an oil pressure sensor defect. Practically, everyone i know with a genesis, in particular the 3.8 L engine, has this issue. The oil pressure sensor illuminates even though the engine oil level is fine and this issue can occur at any time regardless of mileage. Attention Assist System Suspended notification comes on randomly on vehicle while driving, rendering driver defenseless with regard to safety warnings that would otherwise be in effect, such as blind spot assist, attention assist, which are vital components for safe driving. ... also happened when car was stopped to retrieve mail at residence mail box and, at other times for no apparent reason, while driving. Each time when engine was restarted the dashboard read 'System suspended' and continued to do so until car was returned to dealer. This vehicle was purchased on 12/21/2023 and with less than 350 miles began repeated problems with warnings, the first of which was "Check engine"on 02/02/2024, as car was running rough. Car was repaired(dealer determined cause was electrical/software error, fault code) yet before driving out of the dealership the same 'check engine' warning reappeared and vehicle had to be returned to service that same day for the same problem. Since that date in 2023, this vehicle has had numerous seemingly computer related issues that render it unreliable as to the safety devices this vehicle features that should always be maintained. On 03/21/2024 with less than 950 miles the fans remained running after shutting vehicle off and a message appeared stating" cooling system malfunction/reduced drive performance" with a red triangle on dashboard. Dealer determined the cause was 'SOFTWARE" At this point I am concerned that this vehicle is over engineered with computerized options that randomly fail. On another occasion the lights on one side may have been on overnight. The lights (courtesy lights) were on on the right side overnight in garage. My safety is continuously at risk whenever a warning appears.I replaced my GLK specifically to have Blind Spot Assist, PRE-safe, Attention Assist, Active distance assist and other features.Read more

My car for a long time has had the errors/emissions engine light on and when Honda has performed the diagnostic testing they say it could be the oxygen sensor or catalytic converter or fuel injectors or many other things...I've replaced the oxygen sensor recently and the light still on and doesn't go off. I think my car issue needs to be investigated and a recall performed. I see other recalls f
... or my year and make of vehicle but when I enter my VIN its not saying no recall at this time. I feel like Honda doesn't know what is wrong with my car and of course at this point my car's is not under warranty and the fuel injectors they had replaced when I had around 10,000 or 20,000 miles on my car that also is now not covered on any warranty.
