I own a 2018 Jeep Compass. My car has been stalling and going dead when stopping at stop signs/lights, when slowing to turn, and when entering on-ramps to a highway. Other issues that have occurred simultaneously (but not necessarily all at once) include, start/stop not working, the parking brake engaging when stopping, sound system unavailable message (despite that the radio works properly) and t
... he car does not restart immediately when hitting ignition. These issues have been ongoing for approximately one month. The problem initially started with the parking brake engaging when coming to a stop. In order to disengage the brake, the car had to be turned off and then back on again. Then the car started to stall when slowing and stopping. In the latest occurrence, my car stalled 3 separate times within a 10 mile drive. On the 3rd stall, we were turning left to enter the highway when the car stalled suddenly. The car behind us had to slam on their brakes and swerve to miss hitting us. We took our car to the dealership on December 17th. At that time they replaced the cars main battery, but audio system unavailable message remained on, to which the service advisor said we should probably replace the radio, despite that the radio is functioning properly. We took the car with us December 18th. In less than 48 hours the car was stalling at almost every stop again. We returned the car to our dealership on December 26th, where it remains as of January 1. The dealership said, via phone, they have been unable to pinpoint the problem, at this time. It is extremely dangerous for a car to stall when it should otherwise be in motion. This puts myself, my son, our passengers and those around us in danger. This is an issue that warrants immediate attention and we welcome an inspection if someone could just identify the problem and fix it before someone is hurt.Read more

Previously had reported an issue with my vehicle feeling as though it would stall out, especially upon first driving or low speeds. Had visited the dealership multiple times, however, the vehicle did not have any lights or error codes. Eventually, all lights came on to identify there was an issue with the low fuel pressure sensor and that was resolved 9/2021. Visited the dealership again 10/202
... 1 as the vehicle was continuing to feel like it was going to stall out. In fact, the vehicle would go into auto off (while idling) and once it turned back on and began driving would immediately stall out. The dealership was unable to replicate this, the vehicle was not turning on lights or giving a specific error code. The dealership verified everything was working properly. The vehicle continuing to stall without it alerting of any type of issue is concerning.Read more

Here is my draft: Vehicle Information: • Make: Tesla • Model: Model Y • Year: 2024 Description of the Problem: After a software update pushed by Tesla, the AP4 computer in my 2024 Tesla Model Y shorted out, causing a complete failure of all systems controlled by this computer. The following safety-critical and driver-assist features have become non-functional: 1.Cruise Control (ada
... ptive or otherwise) 2.Forward Collision Warning 3.Lane Departure Warning 4.Lane Keeping Assistance 5.Blind Spot Warning 6.Parking Collision Warning 7.Full Self-Driving and Auto Park features 8.Cameras required for Autopilot functionality Additionally, because the GPS system has failed, the vehicle’s Navigation system is inoperable. This impacts Tesla’s unique route planning feature that sets up Supercharger stops during long journeys. Without a functioning navigation system, I cannot properly plan my travel or locate charging stations, which severely affects the usability of the vehicle. Safety Concerns: The failure of these systems, especially safety features like forward collision warning, lane keeping assistance, and blind spot monitoring, puts both the driver and others on the road at risk. Losing access to safety-critical functions after an update is unacceptable and poses a serious danger to vehicle occupants and surrounding traffic. Incident Details: • The issue occurred immediately following a software update. • Tesla pushed the update remotely without providing any warning or indication of potential risks. • The failure appears to be related to a hardware short in the AP4 computer, directly caused or exacerbated by the update. Desired Outcome: • A thorough investigation into Tesla’s software update process and its effect on vehicle hardware and safety systems. • A resolution that prevents similar failures in other vehicles and ensures system updates do not compromise vehicle safety or critical functionality.Read more

However, after checking my specific VIN, I found no active recalls listed for my vehicle. Given the issues I have been experiencing over the past year—including stalling and power loss—I believe my vehicle may be affected by the same faulty fuel pump issue. I am filing this complaint to document that the identified fuel pump issue may affect more vehicles from these model years.Read more

... cared for my family I parked my car outside overnite and called the dealer. They had the car towed away the next day. Got my car back on 6 th of November 2024, with a laundry list of problems and issues, that they had supposedly fixed. Three or four various engine wiring harnesses were replaced, due to charring or melting, probably due to the heat. The engine and transmission were lifted off to fix all the wires and what not. I have all the invoices. And video and pictures of some wires and smoke. They don’t have an explanation for this. The recent recall about ecu maybe suggests the overheating of engine and causing the wires to burn out and some wires started burning almost causing fire if not caught in time. Called Mbusa and they didn’t show any concern. But one week after this incident they issued that ecu engine heating warning. Off course there is no repair for that. This has increased the safety risk of my vehicle tremendously. Tesla has not seemed to publicly acknowledge the issue yet either.Read more

the brakes failed to function while I drove. I almost hit the car in front of me. the brake booster was not functioning. the engine check light appeared suddenly, but with that other messages too, and also that was safe to continue to drive with caution. Just to mention two more messages that appeared on the display were: Stability control not available and Hill descent Control not available. I h
... ad to press extremely hard to break the car and of course I had to drive very slowly. I was cough of guard and almost hit a car in front of me at the traffic light. afterwards I just drove very slowly to my house. I checked the errors on my car and did research (I did not go to the dealership because they just extort money from you). I found out that the auxiliary battery failed. I replaced the battery and reset the system and the new battery information and that fixed the issue. I read on the Land Rover forums similar experience from many owners of this car. I believe there is a serious design flow because the low voltage of the auxiliary battery should not have caused the brake booster to malfunction while I drove. Just to mention that this auxiliary battery is an additional battery, (it looks like a motorcycle battery) and the main one is still healthy. And this is a hybrid (PHEV) car. Lots of source of energy to power important modules in the car which should not depend on the small auxiliary battery. Plus, the engine was running, meaning the alternator should be enough to power the modules that failed. I was very scared and happy that it was not my wife who drove the car. I have a report that was generated by the diagnostic tool that I use. A lot of errors popped up during that scary drive home. I attached the report I recorded from my diagnostic tool.Read more

... brake system to respond as a vacuum brake system. So when the brake system on the Bronco becomes active during a stop it will lock up the wheels on the bronco and all four wheels skid. The brakes will stay locked up for what seems to be a long time but, may only be 10 or 15seconds to get them to release. Causing a dangerous traffic situation, huge stress on tires, towing equipment and the towing vehicle, The manufactures service refuses to any more troubleshooting saying the issue does not fall within the SSM 51415. Being this is a new 24 model year. They looked at the firmware and said i have the latest. I had this issue twice the same day. I have used my RVI supplemental brake system on several vehicles for thousands of miles without issue. Only with this bronco and my first 21 bronco have I had these kind of issues.Read more
