The dealership service department was closed on Saturday (the date of the incident) and Sunday. The dealership was less than helpful and did not return my phone calls on an already stressful day. My trip ended on Sunday and I was forced to rent a car at Enterprise. Unfortunately, the Enterprise I contacted did not have a truck and GMC told me that the dealership could not provide a loaner truck. I’ve needed a truck several times this month, which has caused difficulties for me and others. The vehicle has since been inspected and the service department stated the vehicle needed a new engine. 2017 Ford F-350 with door latches that freeze. There are multiple symptoms which occur whenever the temperature drops below 32 degrees: (1) The door will not open when door handle pulled, (2) the door opens but latch sticks in the "open" position which does not allow door to latch closed, or (3) the door opens while driving due to not being fully latched. I am able to open the driver's door, but cannot drive the vehicle until I am able to exercise or warm up the latching mechanism enough to safely latch the door. This is accomplished by pressing the door lock/unlock switch repeatedly or slamming and holding the door, then pressing the lock button. I am told by the dealership that my VIN does not qualify for Recall 17S33. It did qualify for Customer Service Program 18N03, which was performed in 2022. However, the "fix" did not last beyond a month or so and Ford clearly states that 18N03 is a "One Time Only" repair. It seems to me that Ford knew back in 2017 (or before) they had problems with freezing door latches as this also occurs on the F150 and there have been MULTIPLE recalls that still have not fixed the issue. At best, this is annoying that a $75,000 vehicle cannot be driven until the door has been slammed, exercised, or manipulated enough times to allow the door to latch. This, of course, assume the door opens to begin with. At worst, this vehicle is a rolling deathtrap as the occupants wait for the door to suddenly open while moving. My dealer is no help. They lean on the "One Time Only" clause in 18N03. They have charged parts to my extended warranty without knowing if the part is bad or the cause of the problem, then smile as they tell me there is "no charge" to me.Read more

The service manager said he believed something had blocked the front bumper sensor and that it should be fine now. We have already performed both software updated recalls and since then, it has happened to us twice more. The battery was at around 80%, had just been driven by my wife for around 30 min with no issues, was turned off in the driveway for about 15 min and then we left again. It was extremely cold during this issue (temps around 10 degrees F), but this has also happened during normal temps in the summer and fall.Read more

... rger was replaced. The problem was excessive smoke being emitted at engine start back in 2021 when the only turbocharger was replaced and the problem reappeared in August 2024. Nick Mayer Ford had the vehicle for two weeks in August/September 2024 and provided neither a computer diagnostic analysis report nor repair of the previous recall/repair issues (2021) including no explanation/resolution of the problem. Currently, due to the previous undiagnosed/unresolved problems, the engine failed at 70,000 miles in December 2024 and the long engine block has to be replaced. The engine warning lamp was on at the time of engine failure. We are still paying on a car loan for the vehicle. References: 1. People are honking at me and nervous because of the unpredictibilty of my car. - Frequency: This occurs at least 1x/month for the past 65 months (lifetime of the vehicle) - Conditions: Occurs during normal driving conditions, typically in stop-and-go traffic. - Impact: This issue has resulted in significant delays and near-misses with other vehicles, posing a clear safety hazard. The vehicle has been evaluated by a Honda dealer regarding Idle-Stop system malfunction specifically on the following dates October 1st, 2020, February 2nd 2023, March 16th, 2023 May 11th 2023, November 7th 2024 and January 9th 2025. The vehicle was found to be in normal working order and multiple times I was told to disengage the auto idle stop (press the button) to prevent that from happening. There was a recall for idle-stop software update which failed to repair the issue. This has been a persistent problem and the above dates by no means reflects the only times that the engine fails to restart after auto-stopping.Read more

Two red lights were indicated on the cluster - one of them looks like a car with a "!" through it, and the other is a wrench. The vehicle is charged every night to 95% using a Level 2 CCS charger directly to the vehicle's charging port, no adapters. The vehicle had 91% battery remaining when this occurred. About 20 minutes after the incident, while waiting for a tow truck, the vehicle went completely dead and all components were unresponsive. The ignition would not activate, the doors would not open, and the open doors would not properly shut (the electronic catch mechanisms were not catching the door to keep it shut). I could not activate the screen to put it into Emergency Tow mode. The vehicle has 17,999 miles and was purchased brand new in September 2023 with 0 miles.Read more

4 days after having recall 272 performed by the dealer the ICCU on the vehicle failed. Warning lights indicated failure and to stop the vehicle. Luckily, only 1 mile from home and drove it home under reduced power . Called the dealer (70 miles away) and was told to tow the car to them. Car was diagnosed with ICC failure. Replacement had to be ordered but might take at least 4 weeks.

I have an Issue with my car cause Engine Coolant smells like oil burning and smoke coming inside the car through AC and also having a recall issue but no remedy available with BMW so spend my money and get repaired from outside mechanic, BMW reported me that if there is no remedy available right now so we can't do anything so I get repaired outside and spend 1500$.

“Emissions system problem” warning light has lit up on dashboard twice. This was checked and found to be a faulty code both times however, the second time it occurred, it correlated with the sway bars needing to be replaced.

While on the freeway, going approximately 70 mph, the vehicles onboard cameras all failed and I got a warning that said “camera dirty/unavailable/traffic sign assist currently unavailable”. Dealer scanned the vehicle with a code U300-40 Multipurpose Camera Unit/Millimeter Wave Radar Internal Electronic Failure, and diagnosed a failure of the multipurpose camera, which was then replaced and recalibrated. I have retained the failed unit after paying to have the replacement installed and calibrated. All warning lamps for the above mentioned systems flashed on my dashboard every time the vehicle was started, prior to the dealer repair. The safety of the driver and those around them was affected because repairs for this safety feature suite may be cost prohibitive to some ($2000) and they just won't fix it.Read more

Oil is burning through. I have to get an oil change once a month or it goes completely empty. Spoke to multiple macanics now and all tell me that's a defect with the 2017 arcadia.
