The vehicle's Auto Idle Stop (AIS) malfunctioned. The vehicle stalled and required a complete "shut down" to restart. The vehicle was first in line at a traffic light. The AIS system engaged. When I took my foot off the break to "go" when the light turned green, the car stalled. An error message popped up, indicating that I needed to shift the car into "park". I did so and the car did not start.
... I attempted to turn the car off several times, while in park and my foot depressing the break pedal. The car would not turn off. After three minutes of attempting to turn off the car and waiting, I was finally able to successfully start the car. I was traveling with my four young children, three of them in child car seats. I was nearly rear ended by one vehicle, despite having my hazard flashers on, because my car stalled at a traffic light when it was green. Two cars drove around me who were also stopped behind me at the traffic light. Another car came up to the traffic light and my vehicle and nearly rear ended me with my four young children in the car. This is the third time that this exact issue has occurred in my car. I brought it to my local Honda dealership on the same day that the issue first occurred. They inspected it but were unable to replicate it. They said they would make note of it but had not heard of such an issue. I had no idea this could be reported on this website. I was never told about this otherwise I would have reported this on the day that each of the two previous incidents occurred. I have had numerous issues with my 2019 A220. At 92k mi my cylinder head had to be replaced. My check engine light came on and they said there was a cylinder head leak. Both Horn units need to be replaced . It's been confirmed by Safford Brown Kia in Manassas ,Virginia. The dealership did not have the parts and I have to wait 3 to 4 days for the parts to come in. ... this defect, which requires owners to install the Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS) update to be eligible for free repairs or the lifetime warranty. Despite owning my vehicle since April 2016 and holding clear title in my name for over 6 years, I never received any notice or communication about this required software update. Hyundai’s records still list the prior owner, Hertz, even though I have maintained valid registration and insurance in my name since the purchase. This lack of notice prevented me from having the KSDS update installed before the engine failed. I understand this defect does not show as an open safety recall on the NHTSA database because Hyundai classified it as a Product Improvement Campaign under the class action settlement. This does not change the fact that it is a known safety hazard and Hyundai failed to properly notify me, which denied me the chance to protect myself and my vehicle. I believe this is a major safety concern because the engine can stall or catch fire without warning. I am requesting that NHTSA hold Hyundai accountable for failing to properly notify current owners and ensure compliance with the class action settlement. Desired Resolution: Require Hyundai to honor the warranty and cover my engine replacement in full. Brakes deployed and distance warning illuminated for a very brief instant at highway speed (70 mph) just when a vehicle traveling faster starts to overtake. Very scary! Luck to not have been hit on the right rear corner.

2019 Nissan Leaf Battery Recall: 1 year out from recall announcement, still no repair is available, and it is unsafe to use fast charging for risk of fire. Nissan advertised repairs for recall coming in late 2024, then March 2025. It is now July 2025, and still no repair, and Nissan Corporate will not provide a financial remedy. ... le to use the car to travel longer distances (>45min away from home) because fast charging is unsafe. Consumer Affairs gave me run around. Called back 24 hours after initially promised, at 4 minutes before end of work day on a Friday. Once I finally spoke with the Consumer Affairs rep the next Tuesday, they claimed no obligation under my state's laws to remedy the issue. They refused to email the denial letter that contained this response to the issue and stated that I would have to wait for a physical copy to be sent in the mail 4-8 weeks later. I have gone to 2 Nissan dealerships in the last 2 weeks to attempt to get this recall repaired, and they all report the same issue. It is not possible to repair the battery because Nissan has not provided a solution. 1 year later, this "solution" is still in development. I do not have more time to wait. Moreover, I should be covered by the battery warranty up to 100k miles (I have 51k miles on car) and it does not expire until March 2027.Read more
