My engine shut off my battery as I was driving. This forced my car to stop in the middle of the road. There wasn’t a battery sign or engine light on until after the event. This could’ve caused a wreck, especially if it would’ve happened on the highway. I also have a problem with my gas not registering. It doesn’t show how much gas I have left in my tank. The driver’s seat automatically adjusted while the vehicle was in drive, causing me to lose the ability to reach the pedals and almost resulting in a collision. While driving my 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC with my children in the car, I stopped at a stop sign when the driver’s seat suddenly began adjusting itself backward. My husband also drives this vehicle, and because I had not logge
... d into my driver profile, the car began moving the seat and controls to his saved position, while the car was in drive. The seat moved so far back that I could not reach the pedals. I lost control of the vehicle while another car was turning into my lane. The only way I avoided an accident was by quickly putting the car into park before the seat adjustment completed. This was a terrifying and dangerous situation. Automatic seat adjustments should never be allowed while the vehicle is in motion or in drive. This design flaw puts drivers, passengers, and surrounding traffic at risk of serious injury or deathRead more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The wireless charging unit/electrical system failed. The unit is still in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? While driving with all doors securely closed, the system displays false “door open” error messages and disable
... s the wireless charging function. These false alerts distract the driver and could cause confusion or unsafe reactions. The issue undermines confidence in the reliability of the vehicle’s electrical and safety systems. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The Toyota dealership confirmed the problem and reported replacing the wireless charging unit, but the defect persists. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? Yes. The vehicle has been inspected by the Toyota dealership and reviewed by Toyota Customer Care. Toyota denied further assistance (Case #250811002888, letter dated August 21, 2025). Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle displayed false “door open” messages when attempting to use the wireless charger. These warnings cause the system to stop charging and continue to appear despite the dealer’s attempted repair.Read more

Engine siezed, causing me to have to tow my vehicle. I was moved in the military to Germany in 2019, I had to have no open recalls on the car before I shipped it overseas. I completed a recall on the 5th of January 2019. On the 10th of January, Hyundai activated another recall on the vehicle. I was unaware of this recall and shipped my vehicle to Germany on the 16th of January 2016. The car return

I always changed the oil when told to do so, and when I returned from Germany it was the same thing, no issues and always completed oil changes when it was needed. I had no idea of the recall, Hyundai was sending it to an address I no longer lived at. I had no reason to take my vehicle to Hyundai to check for recalls. On [XXX], my vehicle engine stopped working at 84622 miles, and Hyundai said that it would be covered under warranty, but because I did not complete the recall that was activated on the 10th of January 2019, they denied the warranty and now my car is worthless. The vehicle has grade assist braking, which cannot be disabled. At speeds below 35mph this braking is too strong and cannot be properly controlled with throttle input. The effect is that, when going downhill, if you release pressure from the gas pedal, the vehicle will abruptly decelerate by several mph with no illumination of the brake light. In traffic, in hilly areas, this is extremely dangero

There is no way to feather the gas pedal to coast downhill, so you are either speeding up or slowing down (abruptly). This also requires keeping your foot on the gas pedal when it would be safer to be able to control the vehicle with the brakes. I have reported this to Ford. I have not taken the vehicle to a dealership (because I suspect that they will not be able to do anything about it). There are no warning lights.Read more

We own a Ford Expedition 2020. In 2023, we started noticing jerky, harsh, and aggressive “slips” when the vehicle was trying to change gears - upon multiple occasions. But, in 2024, we experienced three, major, different instances - all were extremely scary and it was miraculous they didn’t cause accidents, car pile ups, or worse! The first instance, the vehicle jerked and sputtered just as
... I was pulling out into a busy intersection. I thought it was going to die in the middle of the road. The second instance, several weeks later, it happened, again, as our family was driving in pouring rain down the interstate; it jerked so hard it felt like we hit a small wall. The third and final instance, we were on our way to vacation - 9 hours away with our family. It sputtered, jerked, and laid in 1st gear. Thank God, we were right at a hotel and able to pull in. We found a local mechanic to take the Expedition in and begin work on it. He was so kind to loan us his car to take on to PA to the Sight & Sound Theater so we wouldn’t lose our money on the tickets. We ended up losing 2 full days of our 4 day vacation; had to rent a vehicle to drive back home; and left our Expedition in VA for 6 weeks while they rebuilt a transmission and cleaned the catalytic converter. $12,160 to the mechanic + $1000 in car rentals. Here we are, now in August 2025, and there’s been a recall on the Powertrain Control Module and that’s being replaced. Lo, and behold, what does the PCM do? It acts as the vehicle’s main computer, managing and controlling various engine and TRANSMISSION functions (adjusting engine parameters like fuel injection, ignition timing, and transmission shift points) - imagine that!Read more
