Within three days of purchase, the vehicle experienced a fuel system failure requiring the gas tank to be replaced. Shortly afterward, the check-engine light illuminated, indicating additional engine or emissions problems. The failures occurred without warning and made the vehicle unsafe to drive. The engine warning has continued to appear, suggesting a recurring or unresolved malfunction. The de
... fects create risks including fuel leakage, stalling, engine shutdown, and potential fire hazard. The safety of the driver and others on the road is put at risk because the vehicle may fail while in motion. The problem appeared immediately after purchase and continues to recur. The dealer was notified but refused to diagnose or repair the vehicle further. No manufacturer inspection has occurred because the dealership declined to provide service. The warning light first appeared within the first week of ownership and has remained intermittent. The vehicle shows signs of unstable engine operation and ongoing system malfunction. The issue has been observed by the dealer, but they declined to perform proper diagnostics or repair. The defects are persistent and pose ongoing safety concerns.Read more

In the last twelve months, the vehicle has been serviced six times for ongoing issues related to the hybrid system, yet the problems persist. Despite multiple visits to the dealership, the defect remains unresolved. My 2023 Jeep Wrangler has an active hybrid battery recall (68C), which according to NHTSA is an extension of the earlier 95B recall involving risk of fire related to the hybrid batter
... y. Recall 95B was marked “resolved” after my hybrid battery was replaced on 11/20/2025, yet I now have another recall for the same safety-related issue. This indicates that the original defect was not properly resolved and suggests ongoing hybrid system safety risks. The recall repair for 68C is still listed as “no parts available,” leaving me unable to have this safety defect corrected. During this period, the vehicle has stalled, lost power, and displayed repeated warning lights associated with hybrid system failure and recall-related issues. These events have occurred while driving and present a serious safety concern. I have opened a case with Stellantis and have documentation of all service visits and all communication with the manufacturer. Stellantis denied my buyback request without providing written reasons and closed my case. They offered a small discount on a new vehicle that would require rolling over nearly $20,000 in negative equity, which does not resolve the underlying safety defect. They also offered two vague extended warranty options but refused to provide written details, and these do not correct the defect or address the safety risk. I do not feel safe driving the vehicle. I fear the possibility of injury due to the unresolved hybrid system defect, stalling incidents, and the ongoing fire-related recall with no available remedy. Stellantis has failed to correct the defect and has not provided an adequate or safe solution. Requesting assistance as this is an active safety issue involving repeated hybrid system failures and a recall with no remedy.Read more

The rear brake lights on my 2019 Audi SQ5 stopped functioning due to a failure of the Comfort System Central Control Module (J393). This defect is documented by Audi in Technical Service Bulletin 2055123/5 and earlier versions. The malfunction causes the “rear lighting warning” to appear in the instrument cluster, and the brake lights do not illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed. The iss
... ue is not related to bulbs or wear-and-tear; it is caused by a software defect in the vehicle’s body control module, which results in loss of communication with the rear-lighting system. The failure occurred at approximately 73,000 miles, but the defect existed earlier and is acknowledged by Audi in the TSB. Because brake lights are a federally required safety system, the vehicle cannot be safely operated until this defect is corrected. The dealership confirmed the issue and advised that the required repair is a software update to the control module. Audi has declined responsibility, leaving the vehicle unsafe to drive. This is a safety-critical defect involving a known software failure that disables brake lights, increasing the risk of rear-end collisions.Read more

November 2, 2025 at 12:19 PM, I received a call from the owner, Jose, who accused me of “assault” against his employee Toni—despite the fact that I have never been physically near Toni. I’ve only been calling to follow up on the unresolved safety issues: no fluids, bad brakes (which they claimed to have repaired), and rear tires with no tread at all. When they repaired the brakes, I would
... have gladly purchased new tires had I been informed.
On November 3rd at 8:23 PM, I found myself stranded on the side of the highway once again—this time due to exposed tread and a large bubble on the tire. It’s deeply troubling that a vehicle was sold in such unsafe condition. This raises serious questions about the seller’s standards and accountability.

On November 8, 2025 at 11:30am, the second bald tire completely blew out while I was driving on 595. This was not just an inconvenience—it was a life‑threatening situation. I could have been killed. The fact that this dealership allowed such unsafe tires to be sold or installed shows a complete disregard for customer safety. This is absolutely unacceptable. Their negligence puts lives at risk. I purchased my 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD new from Wilsonville Chevrolet in Oregon. Since owning the vehicle, I have experienced a noticeable shutter/vibration at highway speeds, consistently between 70–75 mph, whether towing or not. The shutter feels like it is coming from the transmission or driveline, and it occurs on multiple road types and conditions. I reported this issue to Wilsonvi
... lle Chevrolet, but they told me they “could not duplicate” the problem and offered no repair. I then took the truck to Power Chevrolet in Corvallis, who stated the tires were out of balance and replaced them. This did not resolve the issue, and the shutter at highway speed remains exactly the same. I also contacted GM directly, but was redirected back to the dealership, resulting in no progress. At this point the issue has been reported multiple times, yet no root cause or repair has been provided. I am essentially being sent in circles without a solution. There appears to be a growing history of transmission-related issues with newer Chevrolet HD trucks equipped with the Allison 10-speed transmission, and this symptom seems consistent with those reports. A shutter at sustained highway speeds raises a significant safety concern, as a transmission failure at 70+ mph could lead to loss of control or power. In addition to the shutter, I have repeatedly noticed a strong “burning brake pad” smell coming from the rear of the truck. This happens randomly and has also been reported to the dealership, but no cause has been identified. I am unsure whether this is related to the transmission issue, but combined, these symptoms suggest a potential mechanical defect. Given the safety implications and the lack of resolution from authorized dealerships, I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in investigating this issue.Read more

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a serious malfunction of the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system. This malfunction caused my vehicle to unexpectedly perform an emergency stop without a valid cause, resulting in significant damage to its suspension system. ... Baptist Church of Englewood, 224 1St, Englewood, New Jersey. •Description: While driving under normal conditions on a clear, dry road with no obstructions, the vehicle's AEB system engaged suddenly and forcefully. The abrupt, maximum-force braking caused severe stress and impact on the vehicle's suspension components, leading to a bent suspension linkage/component. The car is currently unsafe to drive. The damage to the suspension was not a result of normal wear and tear or an external impact caused by a collision. It was a direct consequence of a failure within a critical safety system designed and installed by Mercedes-Benz. An abrupt emergency stop due to a system malfunction places extreme, unintended stress on the vehicle's mechanical components, including the suspension and alignment systems. While Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown Service authorized the repair and will fully cover its cost, the reason was noted for to agreement was noted as “not to argue with a client who has a long-standing relationship with Mercedes-Benz.” I am asking for this to be officially reported as a defect for Mercedes-Benz to resolve in their design, which will safeguard all future and current drivers as well as the public.Read more

My 2021 Chevrolet Blazer experienced a radiator failure at approximately 42,000 miles. The radiator and cooling system malfunctioned, causing coolant loss and triggering a warning light on the instrument panel. The failed radiator is available for inspection upon request. This defect put my safety and the safety of others at risk because a compromised radiator can lead to engine overheating, sudd
... en loss of power, or even steering assist reduction while driving. These conditions increase the likelihood of an accident, particularly at highway speeds. The problem was confirmed by my Chevrolet dealer, who diagnosed the radiator as needing replacement. They initially quoted $1,800, later reducing the cost to $915.90 after acknowledging that approximately 20 customers per month at their dealership alone are experiencing the same issue. This indicates the defect is widespread, at least regionally, and may be systemic across the model. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer service department, which is an authorized GM representative. No police or insurance inspection has occurred. Prior to the failure, a warning lamp illuminated on the instrument panel, alerting me to a cooling system issue. This was the first symptom I noticed before bringing the vehicle in for service. I believe this premature radiator failure represents a systemic defect in the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer’s cooling system. It occurred well within the 5‑year/60,000‑mile warranty period, yet the dealer claimed the radiator is not covered. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this issue, as it appears to affect many owners and poses a significant safety risk.Read more

Tesla's Full Self Driving (FSD) stopped my car on trolley tracks today, and would have stayed on the tracks for a minute if I hadn't taken control and driven off the tracks. This failure created a significant safety risk, as sudden loss of oil pressure can cause engine seizure, loss of power steering, loss of braking assist, and an inability to safely control the vehicle. Had this occurred at highway speeds, the consequences could have been severe. I have since learned that this exact issue has been reported by other owners of 2019 BMW X5 vehicles and other BMW models using the B58 engine, which were equipped with an oil pump containing plastic internal drive components prone to cracking or separating. BMW appears to have updated the oil pump design to a metal version in 2020 and later models, suggesting the manufacturer was aware of the weakness of the earlier design. The defect was confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle had also been inspected by BMW one week prior during scheduled service, yet no issues were detected. Because this failure presents a clear safety hazard and appears to be related to a widespread design flaw, I respectfully request that NHTSA open an investigation into the oil pump used in 2019 BMW X5 vehicles and consider issuing a safety recall.Read more

The rear subframe got separated from chassis. I was driving to work and had to hard brake to void a collision with another vehicle all of a sudden vehicle shifted to the left and I ended up on a curb. Further inspection vehicle`s rear subframe rotted out due to rust. Also, both rear brake lines from abs module to calipers are damaged due to corrosion. I ended up replacing both brake lines and did
... not think too much of it and now I see a lot of people complaining about both brake line corrosion and subframe separation or excessive rust, casing rear subframe to fail. It is a very serios safety issue and Mercedes should hold accountable for these failures. My vehicle is 2012 Mercedes E350 and only has 118k miles on odometer. I have attached pictures for the rear subframe for your review, but I did not take any pictures of the brake lines due to limited space to get my camera between the body and the rear subframe.Read more

Mercedes Benz issued a recall and extended a warranty on its 2003-2005 E Class SBC braking systems (recall # 2005110001) and extended the warranty to 25 years; the 2006 E Class models have the exact same SBC braking system but is not included in the recall. Mercedes needs to add the 2006 E Class models to recall # 2005110001. My 2006 is experiencing the same SBC issues the 2003-2005 models are kno

The C4B recall on my truck has been open for over a year and Ram / MOPAR just keep saying no part available when I take it in to get fixed. The truck will not stay in cruise control every time the light dings. It is a hydraulic controller for the brake fluid which seems like it is a huge safety risk if it does fail while driving.

The safety component that is covered under the SBC warranty is the entire brake master cylinder specifically the part that is bad is the brake pedal position sensor The car is undriveable without it, they have a 25-year warranty on it yet they have no parts and no way to fix it which is obviously unacceptable they've also refused to provide a loaner car until they come up with a way to fix my car
... leaving me on the side of the road with nothing to drive it's unacceptable! My safety and everybody's safety on the road is affected by this because the car won't stop if you drive it and you have really strong legs you can get it to slow down and eventually stop it's completely unsafe The brake pedal cannot tell the computer where it is in its travel which means the system doesn't know that you're applying the brakes which don't work. Yes the problem has been confirmed by two shops one of which has a snap-on scanner which I can attach the scan to showing the issue and currently the car is sitting at a shop that uses Mercedes-Benz only star system the same system that they use in the dealership there is no question at any level what is wrong with the vehicle. The car is not safe to drive to the dealership and now in the winter this $132,000 convertible isn't going to be driven in the salt just to get to a dealership to find out what they're not going to do for me I've already confirmed and share the scans and images and everybody I've spoken with at the dealerships agrees that it's ridiculous that Mercedes has a 25-year warranty on a part that they do not make do not have and cannot fix Yes there are two different brake malfunction lights that are on the dash you cannot clear them as though in a code way like you can on some things and the car is not to be driven, the problem first arose a couple months ago and we started diagnosing it until on the Facebook forum somebody told me that it's covered by a 25-year SBC warranty which when I contacted the dealer and Mercedes-Read more

I was definitely scared for my safety. I had to coast very slowly on the way home. I was on my way to work but instead I dropped it off at home and called ride share to take me to work! I had to use my emergency brake to make the turn up my dirt road. I still had little to no brakes to stop the car. I parked it and haven’t driven it since. Much to dangerous to drive this car. I could have easily been killed not having brakes. It Showed no codes, had no warning at all. I just bought the car about 6 months prior. The next day it was as if it never happened.Read more

I own a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300. After the dealership performed the recall Update Battery Management System Software – Campaign 2025040005 / 25V050 / 25P5496507, my vehicle immediately experienced a significant loss of battery performance. Problems that began right after the recall update: Driving range decreased by approximately 25–30 miles. DC fast-charging speed dropped from about 100
... kW before the update to a maximum of around 80 kW after the update. Vehicle was performing normally before the recall software was installed. This update appears to have negatively affected the performance, efficiency, and charging capability of the high-voltage battery. Mercedes has not yet provided an explanation or solution. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the recall update is improperly derating or limiting the high-voltage battery and whether this safety recall is causing reduced functionality for other EQB owners.Read more
