These two issues have left me and my family stranded three different times in remote locations in spite of our best efforts to keep the vehicle well charged and cross referencing navigation with other apps. I have taken the vehicle to Rivian service twice already and I was assured that the software update 38.30, but that is not the case. This left me stranded in Lone Pine, California where I had to abandon the vehicle and have it towed back to the Burbank service center and again near Mt. Shasta, California. Both were in December 2025, in sub-freezing conditions at night after repeated charging attempts. This created additional issues where the 12V battery charge ran down, the vehicle couldn’t get into Neutral to be towed and in all cases, Rivian roadside assistance was not able help beyond scheduling a service appointment.Read more

I regularly receive false inattentive driving and hands-on-wheel warnings even when I am driving properly. These alerts are distracting and interfere with safe vehicle operation. I am also experiencing lane control and steering interference. The steering wheel will sometimes pull the vehicle in a direction that does not match the road, even when lane assist is turned off. This is especially dangerous in construction zones with temporary lanes marked by reflectors, including when driving next to large trucks. I have experienced multiple near-miss incidents and have had to physically override the steering wheel to remain in my lane. These problems now occur almost every time I drive and have caused me to feel unsafe operating the vehicle. I believe this represents a serious safety defect.Read more

The contact raised the hood and there was oil on the engine block and there was the odor of diesel fuel in the engine compartment. The contact had the vehicle was towed to a local dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the fuel pump had failed, and that the engine had been contaminated and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel), which was performed in 2024. The vehicle has approximately 46,000 miles, has been regularly maintained, garaged, and driven under normal conditions. These symptoms created engine performance issues that could result in loss of power or inability to accelerate while driving, creating a potential safety risk, especially in traffic or at highway speeds. I regularly transport my young grandchild in this vehicle. The possibility of sudden engine failure, loss of power, or breakdown while driving raises significant safety concerns for myself and any passengers, particularly a young child. The failure has been confirmed by an authorized Mercedes-Benz service center. During my own research, I discovered there have been recalls involving similar engines for the same model year, as well as multiple owner complaints reporting similar engine or cylinder head failures on this vehicle. I contacted Mercedes-Benz customer care on December 17, 2025, after receiving the dealership diagnosis, and was advised that I would receive a response within 72 hours. As of today, I have not received any response. I attempted to call customer care again, but the phone system would not accept a voicemail and no representative answered.
