My truck has been into the dealership repeatedly from Aug 2024 to where it sits now to this day because of the engine and the electronic fuel management system. This fuel management system has destroyed my engine by allowing excessive oil consumption to which it turns the oil black. The sudden release of the brake after applying the accelerator created a dangerous situation and was extremely alarming. A second incident occurred several days later while I was on vacation. In this instance, I made sure no one was near the vehicle before attempting to release the brake. Anticipating the issue, I had my left foot ready to push on the breaks when I accelerated using my right foot which releases the parking. I brought the vehicle to a Mercedes-Benz dealership on January 5, 2026, where the car remained for nearly ten days. The dealership was able to replicate the issue exactly as described. The service advisor also had to apply significant accelerator pressure to release the locked parking brake. A certified Mercedes-Benz technician inspected the vehicle thoroughly, including scanning for fault codes and checking for rust or mechanical issues, but ultimately advised that this behavior was considered “normal operation.” I find this explanation concerning. I OWN A 2018 GMC SIERRA DENALI ULTIMATE, The truck has the 6.2 engine which had the lifter issue as stated with the current situation. At the time, the truck had 37,000 miles when the issues started. Now, the truck has piston slap and rod issues and currently at Hare Chevrolet for service. I was told I need a full rebuild ($12,000 dollars or a new engine $14000 dollars). As a retired Air Force veteran, I didn’t expect issues like this, especially when I baby the truck and it currently has 40,530 miles. I had regular oil changes and service, yet now stuck with a high class truck that has serious issues that seem to be ignored by GM and Andy Mohr GMC. Andy Mohr sold me an extended warranty at time of purchase but I paid for a year and a half that wasn’t usable. If I had that warranty I would be covered now.But besides that, it’s a Denali, I shouldn’t be having a new engine at 40,530 miles. I am happy that there is an investigation but it needs to be widened because my truck was right before the new model rollout but I am having the same issues. If needed, I have all my receipts and information and will provide the service rep at Hare. Each shop advised that they have previously serviced 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models with the same 3.6L engine presenting identical symptoms and diagnostic codes, including timing correlation errors, misfires, and internal engine damage. Several repair facilities indicated that they have had the same make and model in their shops for the same failure, including vehicles with significantly lower mileage, with one reported case occurring at approximately 7,000 miles. Based on consistent feedback from multiple independent repair facilities, this condition appears to be a known and recurring mechanical issue associated with this vehicle model, rather than damage caused by misuse, neglect, or owner fault. (random/multiple cylinder misfires), P0017 and P0019 (camshaft/crankshaft timing correlation errors). Upon removal of the oil filter, metal debris was found in the oil filter cartridge, indicating possible internal engine damage. Based on these findings, the repair facility recommended engine replacement or major engine repair.Read more

... ril 2025 – Repeated 12V battery failures. After two visits to Casa Hyundai Las Cruces, I was told an app on my phone (El Paso Electric charging discount app) was “checking in” too frequently. I deleted the app, and the issue temporarily subsided. • December 20, 2025 – Vehicle would not start after sitting for approximately one hour. Required a jump start from USAA. • December [XXX] – Vehicle would not start again; service appointment scheduled. • December [XXX] – Vehicle was jump-started and driven toward Findlay Hyundai St. George. While driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost power. I was able to pull off the freeway, but this was an extremely frightening and dangerous situation. I was fortunate that my husband was following me. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. As of now, still waiting on parts (ICCU replacement) with no date given on backorder. This safety recall is over six months old and is still unresolved. I have not felt safe driving the vehicle on the highway because of the possibility of complete power loss. I have been forced to keep paying lease payments on a car I can't drive and the manufacturer has been unresponsive. When I plug the car in to charge, all the lights in the house dim. My other EV does not do this so it must
