Even though the my Mercedes is a 2010, it has forty three thousand miles and garaged for it's lifetime. The brakes lines are rotted and leak. This is a serious safety issue and should be looked into. I was sold this car and because I did not know what the red "STOP CAR TOO LOW WARNING" meant when I was driving it home, I was not only scammed by the used car dealership with no recourse, but I also was tricked into driving this car while it was not supposed to be driven for safety, per the manual of the vehicle. I will include a picture of the safety message from the manual where it states, "HIG
... H PRIORITY MESSAGES APPEAR IN THE MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAY IN RED COLOR". and the STOP CAR TOO LOW message states very specific safety instructions that a reasonable person could not know. I am filing this recall complaint because how the system operates. I was sold this car while the struts were faulty and had already developed a leak and because the car was currently running the AIR COMPRESSOR was able to keep up with the leak during the test drive because a slow leak will only go back down after an extended time period which I believe the dealer knew because he asked me how much I was trying to spend and all of a sudden he pulled my car out of their shop telling me they just got the car and haven't put it out yet. Please help me. When I parked the vehicle at a Golf course parking lot during the test drive I was with my uncle, I did look up mechanic shops but because the car dealership was located in Farmington, MN there was no place feasibly close enough for me to have the vehicle properly inspected. The issue is the ride of the vehicle on the air suspension was perfect so there was no way of me knowing the car was not supposed to be driven over 50 mph which you will see on the safety instructions, and the vehicle could have caused an accident because there was no way of me knowing the suspension being too low could cause the wheels to rub on the wheel well if the car is too low. I even added more radiator coolant the next day when I was driving the car and the STOP CAR TOO LOW WARNING came on again. Over $5000 in repairs that I had to do because of safety, please help me.Read more

I took the car to Mercedes for service and they found that the rear suspension frame had extensive rust and recommended that it should be replaced. The car only has 87,000 has been garage kept since buying the car in 2013 and has been serviced my MB. The frame has two quarter size holes at the same location on the left and right sides. MB was made to recall this in both Canada and Europe. MB sta
... ted that this is a known issue with this car. Why has the NHTSA not forced MB to recall this car? MB knows that if part fails the entire rear drivetrain separates from the car. My understanding is this effects most C-class E-class cars, plus the repair is over $4,000.00 This should be on MB not the consumer.Read more

Issue: Front driver and passenger seat belts do not fully retract despite completed recall service. The seatbelts often "puddle" behind the seats when unbuckled, and sometimes get trapped between their seat and adjacent door. My car was recalled and serviced under Mercedes Campaign 2021020010 to fix this in October 2021. Also, the right front seatbelt was replaced in October, 2018 under Campaig
... n 2017050023. The first paragraph of the Mercedes Recall Campaign Bulletin states, "...certain C-Class Cabriolet vehicles (A205 platform) with PRE-SAFE might not meet the requirements of FMVSS 208, S7.4.5., as the front seat belts might not fully retract to its stowed position. In this case, certain regulatory requirements under FMVSS 208 might not be fulfilled. If the seatbelt webbing does not fully retract into its stowed position, the consumer may find the operation of the seatbelt inconvenient and not wear it, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash." In its step 1, the bulletin states, "The seat belt strap must retract into its final position automatically. Provide manual assistance with rolling up the seat belt strap if necessary." Having to provide manual assistance to retract the seat belt does not meet the definition of "must retract into its final position automatically". Further, it does not meet the aim stated in the bulletin's first paragraph about the importance of the seat belt fully retracting. The labor time spent on campaign was only 0.10 hours (6 minutes), so nothing more than a cursory inspection was done, and not any actual service work. I spoke with my local Mercedes dealer and the Mercedes USA customer service rep. They are both Ok with manually feeding the seatbelt into its slot. This is unacceptable and does not meet FMVSS 208. Both the dealer and the Mercedes USA say I can pursue proper fix at my expense. This is a failed recall service and I should not have to pay to explore a proper remedy.Read more

The car started fishtailing slightly when the brakes were applied at speeds around 25 MPH. First it was taken to a Mercedes dealership on June 24th where they said it need a sway bar and tires. The item that has failed is the rear subframe of the vehicle. It is available to be viewed. It is still on my car, as it has not yet been replaced due to the cost. When braking, the front of the car will pull left and back feels like it is pulling to the right, as if you are spinning out. The problem is that the subframe is rusted out at under 100,000 miles. I just hit 100,000 and it has already b

I have been in contact with Mercedes Benz corporate and they said since I am past 50,000 miles, there is nothing they can do. There were no safety warnings, recalls or lights in the car that has given me any indication there was a problem until it broke and I felt it during breaking. This issue seems to have happened to many individuals driving the Mercedes C300, as it is not just a small number. Currently, MB has this backordered due to the number of cases. They should be responsible for a recall for the price paid for their vehicles.Read more

During a trip driving from Sedona to San Diego, the rear passenger side rim (Part No. 25740120007x23) (see Picture1) failed with a through crack on the shoulder opposite the spoke side (see Picture2). Picture 3 shows the weldment of the crack that went through the rim wall. This cracks developed during normal driving conditions and were not the result of impacts.
