I consider this issue a SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE that could be LIFE-THREATENING and all Mercedes-Benz service departments should be alerted to the problem. Mercedes-Benz should issue a revised, more user-friendly label so independent tire shops will not misread the label and over-inflate customers' tires. The tire inflation specifications provided for this vehicle, located both on the B-pillar and g
... as filler flap, are configured poorly and lead techs, both at Mercedes service departments and independent tire shops, to grossly over-inflate the tires. Please see the attached photo of the gas filler flap sticker on our AMG GLA 45. Our car has 20" tires and the techs incorrectly read the tire inflation pressures as 42 psi front / 46 psi rear. These are the correct pressures for a fully loaded vehicle, a situation that we seldom see. This represents over-inflation of 8 psi (22%) front and 13 psi (39%) rear, creating the potential for blowouts, compromised handling, and loss of control. Technicians read the label as 19" tires receiving the day-to-day tire pressures and 20" tires receiving fully loaded pressures creating a life-threatening safety issue. I have tried to address this problem with W.I. Simonson in Santa Monica, trying to contact our service rep, their tire "guru", and the GM. I've left two voicemails for each of them and have received no response whatsoever. I tried to alert Mercedes-Benz North America (800/367-6372) with the following results: 1) Called 15 August 2022, explained the problem and receiving case #2-31456230028, was told that a rep would contact me within 48 hours. 2) Called 23 August 2022, was told that a rep had tried my wife's number once. I ran off the road and my rear suspension sub frame literally broke in half. Upon further research I’ve learned that these parts are faulty and several people have had theirs rust completely in two. It was jerking all over the road and when I tapped the brakes the rear end of the car would come up off of the road (into the air)! This was in June. It’s now September and I still have not been able to obtain a part from Mercedes. So many people are having this issue with their vehicles that the part is on back order until Q1 of 2023. This is a part of the cars sub frame that is rusting in two! One would argue a broken sub frame is dangerous. And it’s such a prominent issue the part is on back order. Furthermore, Mercedes has changed the type of metal used in replacement parts, which is an acknowledgment of the parts defect.Read more

This issue is pertaining to a 2014 E350 Mercedes Benz. The brake system is in jeopardy. The subframe has rotted and cracked. Mercedes Benz is aware that this is a problem for many of their vehicles. ... for maintenance visits. It was making cracking sound in 2021, we brought it in to be serviced for that reason on 11/23/21. This issue was not noted at that time. Mercedes Benz indicated the solution was a lube. The issue persisted post visit. The car is infrequently driven because the primary driver teleworks. We returned the car to the dealership for an assessment 8/6/2022 due to ongoing concerns for our safety. The first indicator that there was a problem was the unfamiliar cracking sound as if the car could snap in half, then hard pulling to the left when braking. There was never a warning light or any other indicator on the dashboard or otherwise. The owners initiated the visit to the Mercedes Benz dealership. Mercedes Benz reported that they did not see the rust when they assessed the car for the cracking sound in 11/2021, furthermore that the rust and deterioration happens rapidly. Had the right side of the subframe also rusted and rotted out, this could have resulted in a total loss of control over the vehicle and been needlessly catastrophic. Warning indicators necessary and routine free inspection are warranted. Repairs for the subframe alone will cost more than $4000. This is a hardship. Further, it's unclear if the malfunctioning rear left caliper resulted from the rotted subframe. The vehicle appears to be in otherwise pristine condition. Mercedes Benz has never indicated there were any issues with the vehicle's subframe despite routine class service visits at the dealership. An internet search confirms this issue is not uncommon and possibly negligible.Read more

Once a representative from Discount Tire inspected my tires they agreed with the dealership that the two back tires were bad, and I haven't driven over ten thousand miles. So I had inquired about the factory warranty and was informed that there was no mileage for these tires, and they would only give me sixteen percent off for the purchase of new tires. Why would a company like Pirelli sell racing tires to companies which provide consumers that drive daily a race tire. This is certainly deceptive sales practices by both Pirelli and Discount Tire, not fully disclosing this information to the consumer. I've owned this vehicle for a few years and don't use it that often. I purchased it as a certified so I thought everything had been checked out. However, not too long ago i took my wife and my son who was home from college out to dinner. When we left and started back to the car, my son was ahead of us and didn't think when he lifted the door handle. The alarm came on and I was still quite some dis
... tance from the car. That didn't seem right so when we got home, I walked quite a distance from the locked car and had him try it again. Again the door came open when he lifted the handle and the alarm came on. After resetting it, I locked it again and this time had him try all handles. They all locked except the rear (passenger) door on the driver's side. That convinced me that something was wrong. I took it to the dealer, the same place I purchased it from three years ago and they said the door lock was bad and it would cost me $800 to fix it. I thought that was a little steep and told them it was probably like that when i got it. That didn't mean anything to them. I am thinking of trading the car so I don't want to spend more money on it so I told them to hold off. I was searching for that problem on the Internet and I ran across a recall notice that identifies that same problem on the same door in a number of other model Mercedes, and I thought, that seems like a coincidence. What are the chances of that? The same manufacturer, the same year, the same problem on the same door. Only the model is different. Can someone check to see if there were any problems recorded for the E300 on bulletin 17V816000? It was on Mercedes recall 2018010009 I have not checked to see if the door locks when the doors auto lock above 10 mph because I didn't want a chance for an accident.Read more
