The weather was clear and dry, and there were no cars either behind, in front of, or beside me as I drove up a cleanly paved and level road at a speed of approximately 35 – 40 MPH. During the drive up the road, the car inexplicably and suddenly stopped, hard, as though I had run into a dense hill of sand. It was a violent and sudden jolting stop, and all four passengers’ seatbelts activated, firmly tightening and restraining us in our seats. My wife’s head whipped back and forth, resulting in an enduring headache for her through the rest of the evening. No one knew what had happened, or why, as there was absolutely no obstruction in the road and no traffic around us. We pulled over and inspected the car and it was in pristine perfect condition with no evidence of any contact of any kind. We looked in the road and it was clear, paved and level. No animals; no objects; no obstruction. When I arrived home I searched online to determine if this had ever before been reported, and it turned up several “hits,” apparently filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) on this very issue, apparently involving both the 2021 and 2022 EQS. My model year is 2023. The discussions I have read point to a possible defect in the Autonomous Emergency Braking System (EBS). It might be the car is sensing something that is not there, and reacting as though it were. At 70 MPH on a freeway, this could be fatal, should the EBS activate suddenly, with no cause to do so, with an ensuing rear-end collision. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS.Read more

I was driving on a highway at between 60 & 65 mph, the wheels crossed an expansion joint in the highway and the steering started vibrating and violently and shaking from side to side. It felt like both wheels were bouncing long after I crossed the joint in the road. I almost lost control of the vehicle. I had to slow down and upon doing so the shaking abated.

... ir service center. They said that the battery was dead which caused the CAMS malfunction, they replaced the battery(infiniti battery) fixed the CAMS and I picked up my car. At first it seemed to function normally, the next day I drove to work and noticed it still swerving whenever I would drive on any uneven pavement or try to switch lanes and have to cross over any bumps, the car will oversteer. This happens at speeds higher than 35-40 mph however, It happens under 35-40, but is controllable... I also took it to another Infiniti dealer Infiniti on Camelback, and they checked everything and said I should lower the tire pressure, I lowered them to 31(35 is recommended) and it still continues. I have checked car forums and they are saying it could be the Direct Adaptive Steering(DAS) , I asked the service department at Camelback to check that and they said they ran all tests and couldn't find a fault. No warning lights or codes come on, and dealer can't find the fault. I believe this issue is a computer failure and it will not throw a code since it is not a part or mechanical issue, it is computer issue. I also asked them to reset my computer and they said that wasn't necessary. I have reported this issue with Infiniti Consumer Affairs, I feel this car is a danger if i drive faster than 35-40 mph as it becomes uncontrollable.Read more

The vechicle was recalled for door locks that failed to work. Within weeks 3 of the automatic windows failed. One of the windows won't stay closed and can be easily opened by anyone simply pressing on the window and pushing it down. Its impossible to lock the vehicle for protection. These cars have a known wrist pin failure, mercedes refuses to cover the cost of repairs as its not a recall. My vehicle is the specific model and year this is known for, and my car is making these piston slapping sounds, worse everyday. Worse on deceleration, goes away when warmed up, just like the reports. 1. The component that failed was the rear subframe for the rear transaxle and wheel suspension system. It was inspected by a licensed MB service department and determined the drivers side of the rear subframe had rusted completely through and was separated from the frame. The passenger side of the rear subframe was also severely rusted and at risk of breaking. The subframe is currently being repla
... ced. 2. The subframe to this vehicle holds the transaxle and rear wheel suspension in place, I noticed with a hard breaking the rear of the car swerved, slightly fishtailing. I immediately drove home and parked it until I could drive it to a service/repair facility. If this subframe had completely broken free the entire rear drivetrain would have been severely damaged or completely destroyed or worse, break free from the vehicle and cause a crash. 3. The problem is well known in the auto industry. My service center who inspected my vehicle described it and said it is a well known problem and they have replaced other subframes due to the same issue. I even spoke to an AUDI salesman today and they know of it and send these MB vehicles as a trade-in to auction and do not even attempt to replace the subframe. A recall for this problem of the subframe failure due to rust has already been issued for MB in Europe for quite some time but no recall in the USA. 4. This vehicle and component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance rep. 5. no warning lamps or any other messages were illuminated to give any warning of a subframe failure due to rust. The first symptom of the problem is the loose rear end with hard breaking causing a slight fishtail of the rear of the car. I experienced this on my drive home from work and afterwards only drove it to my service center.Read more
