... afely maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder within seconds and escaped crash or fire. Immediately called my insurance and got the vehicle towed to the nearest Kia dealership. I had to drop the vehicle at the dealership (and drove home 700 miles to Virginia using one way rental). Few days later the dealership confirmed that the engine is not good anymore and it needs a replacement. They told me that since the recall (PI1802 ECU UPGRADE (KSDS)) was not performed on the vehicle, Kia will NOT pay for any expenses and I have to pay out of pocket more than $8500.00 for the replacement. It came as a big surprise and shock to me as I never heard or got any communication from either the dealer (3rd party) from whom I bought the vehicle or KIA regarding such recall or the fix needed, to prevent such a failure. I would appreciate it if your legal team can help me to have Kia replace the engine at no cost to me. As I'm searching, I'm hearing a lot of news about KIa's and Hyundai's having the same engine issue and many have resulted in fires and even death. While RV was parked for approximately10 hours along the beach in Newfoundland, Canada RV caught fire and burned to the ground. We were asleep, when we were awakened by a popping sound. When we opened our eyes, the RV was already filled with smoke. We did not hear the smoke alarm or carbon monoxide go off. We escaped at the nick of time. ... be assessed next week at my local FORD dealer in conjunction with the engine problem. For a SECOND TIME my ENGINE FAILED WHILE ACCELERATING on 55 mph highway. As I normally accelerated to cross the Choptank River bridge in MD, the engine revved but the car failed to accelerate, the engine malfunction came on and a red box saying to pull over safely. Having experienced this before, I knew I had to get off the highway. I barely made it across two lanes of traffic to pull off to the adjacent fishing pier. I noticed my electric power was a low as my window would barely move. I turned off the car and called my dealer. They advised that I could get a tow or if I felt safe, and the car turned back on, to drive it in even though the malfunction light was still on. So I drove it home Friday night and it goes to the dealer on Monday. However, this engine failure happened to me once before in early December which required a tow in to the dealer. Again, I was normally accelerating on RT.695 when the engine revved but the truck slowed/stopped in a exit/merge area. I did not have enough power to get to the shoulder so I managed to pull over into the small area of the merge/on ramp. At this time my car went into a Deep Sleep, nothing worked. Once towed to the dealer, they assessed my car had an "old" battery in it and replaced it. Guess it wasn't the battery since my engine has failed again. Also, since the first engine failure, my overall gas mileage only averages 35 mpg but before these episodes I averaged 41mpg for 8 months. Feeling VERY UNSAFE in my Maverick now!Read more

My daughter left our house in our 2022 Hyundai Kona on Friday, 1/13/23, to head back to college which is 5 hours from home. A little more than an hour down the road after leaving our house, she said that the car started sounding strange, so she called her mother. ... driving until she found a safe place to pull over. As she continued onwards, she came to a stop sign in the countryside and the car died on her. She restarted it and was able to continue her trip. Several miles later a light came on, but she was still not to a safe area. By the time she got to a safe place, other lights had come on, and the car died in the parking lot. The car would not restart so we called a tow truck to take the Kona to the nearest Hyundai dealership which is where it sits today. Upon inspection, the Hyundai dealership discovered that the drain plug was missing from the oil pan which caused the oil to drain and ultimately led to catastrophic engine failure. The engine needs to be replaced at a quote of $9753.08. The Kona’s last oil change was on 10/19/22 at 8,630 miles and was done a third party oil change facility. The mileage on the Kona when delivered to the repairing Hyundai dealership is 13,775. No engine lights or oil change needed indicators were on before our daughter began her trip on 1/13/23. I contend that this is a known issue with Hyundai engines based off of internet research that indicates that the NHTSA is actively investigating this exact issue of the drain plug falling out and causing catastrophic engine failure. This situation is a safety issue because the engine could have seized while in motion on a two-lane country road causing a wreck.Read more

I have experienced ennourmas pain and suffering because of this accident even though I was not seriously hurt. If the building hadn't been there to stop the car I might well have been seriously hurt. And yes I have written to the CEO of volkswagen twice and I have also called him multiple times. I have called the dealership where I bought the car. I have spoken to several lawyers to no avail. I do have a lawyer who is working on getting my license back. This accident has taken a toll on my health and well being. I live in a semi rural area and am retired but still working part time in churches all over the city. Last month my visa bill was over $2000 -- mostly ubers. I am seriously hoping that I will get my license back soon but the problems this accident has caused have been huge. And yes this accident happened twice. When I took my car in for 4 tires I indicated this to Will the service guy and he said I could buy a new one and have it replace. It was strange he never hard of it. The battery in what used to be my 2017 Honda CR-V had a constant draw. The electronic emergency brake always drew from the vehicles battery when it was off, and would even drain the battery when there was a severe change in the temperature of the weather. ... ss than stellar, all the Honda dealership did was replace what was a perfectly good battery and claim the vehicle was fixed. This suggests they never properly tested the battery, but instead made an assumption and took an advantage to make a profit off of their customer. Within three months, the battery was drained again, and needed to be jumped. This suggests the original battery they replaced, had no issues. After the battery had been jumped, there were three months of the battery operating. Then this past December, the battery once again suffered a premature drain. The vehicle was taken back to the dealership. This time the dealership claimed to have "updated the software" of the vehicle, thereby resolving the issue. The dealership gave us credit for the diagnosis, but not the previous battery they replaced. After taking the vehicle home and testing the battery after this so called "software update", the battery was still low and suffering from a constant draw. Upon further investigation, there is an entire law suit filed against Honda over this exact issue. This issue was listed as a recall by Honda, except there is no solution to it. This a premature battery failure issue. The law firm FeganScott has lawyers that mentioned Honda even knew about this in regard to the CR-V models from the years 2017-19. This is completely unacceptable for a manufacturer to sell vehicles that were not engineered properly with such an issue. Honda needs to be held accountable and needs to fix these vehicles. Additionally, this is absolutely a safety issue for their customers.Read more

The Jeep was purchased with approximately 25K miles on the odometer, had only one previous owner, and had no record of accidents, damage, deployed airbags, or recalls. At time of the accident, the odometer had around 54K miles, there were no warning lamps or messages, had still not been in any prior accidents, had been regularly maintained, and exhibited no symptoms or problems. ... ook the car to my mechanic, and he inform that the drain valve was not working properly. after doing some research on the internet I found that this particular incident was happening in several of Mercedes years 2009-2011 E50, that it was a recall on the water drain system. Also, on 01/17/23 my sunroof was working without any problems, I attempted to close it and it stop midday and i hear the motor working, but the sunroof did not move, I did more research and found a recall on the bonding glue for sunroof and the glass was detached without warning. Even though my vehicle is not on the recall list, my car is having the same exacts problems and issues and reported by NHTSA. It is a safety issue because it seems to affect other systems in the vehicle that make warning sounds say if someone is in a blind spot as well as being an overall distraction especially if I am using the vehicle for directions. The noises are very loud and distracting and there is no fix other than pulling my vehicle over and shutting it off waiting for a few minutes and rebooting everything and even then the problem can reoccur. I have taken my vehicle into my local Honda Dealership multiple times for the last 3 years now for the same problem occurring over and over and Honda doesn't seem to have an actual permanent fix for this problem. Just in the last year for example I have taken the vehicle in for maintenance on these dates 05/24/2022, 09/23/2022, 10/05/2022 and most recently on 01/12/2023. There seems to be no end in sight regarding this problem and a quick search on the internet will show that a multiple amount of people across the country are experiencing this same issue.Read more
