... n a recall whereby customers were given a recall to replace at no charge the camshaft adjusters up to 120k miles. My car only has 83k and I am told by two independent mechanics that the camshaft adjuster should not be failing like this and that this has been an ongoing issue with Mercedes. The safety issue is that I am told by independent mechanics that what could happen over time is that I could be driving and the entire engine/power just shuts off. This could even happen at high speeds on the highway. The mercedes dealer tells me there is no safety issues that could result from camshaft adjuster problems which doesn't appear to be true as per the other independent mechanics. I request further investigation into this issue because as per the independent mechanics its the "same engine" as the 2012-2014 that are under the recall . I'm requesting a recall on this for my car that Mercedes pays for. This should not be failing especially in a car with only 83k on it . If the C series 2012-2014 received recall on this part then I also think my ML 350 should be covered. My rear passenger rim was damaged and I incurred a $410 expense for the tire replacement as it was not warrantied by either Volvo or Pirelli. When the TPMS went off, I was on a large bridge over the Ohio River, in the left lane of a four lane highway. It was difficult safely navigating through rush hour traffic as cars were swerving to get away from me. I had to drive approximately a mile and a half on a flat tire to the exit where a tire specialty business was located. The problem I noted above was identified and confirmed by a knowledgeable employee at Tire Discounters (Newport, KY) where I brought my vehicle. They could not order the replacement tire due to a national backorder, however they reached out to the closest Volvo dealership (Volvo Cincinnati East) and was able to obtain a tire from them that was delivered the following day. The steering column does not operate properly. The column no longer adjusts positions and more importantly, the turn signals work ad-hoc. I bought this car as a certified pre-owned, picked it up on January 18, 2023. This is our family car and we took it on a 350 mile each way road trip on Jan 27. Upon arrival to our destination, driving around the city I noticed a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust. I checked the oil and there wasn't oil registering on the dipstick, so I added 5 quarts of oil to the car to get us home on Sun

The dealer began an oil consumption test based on Hyundai's instructions. Now I have to take the car back in every 1,000 miles to be checked. I picked the car up on Feb 9 and have continued to drive it around with white smoke coming out the back end in multiple scenarios: after sitting at a stoplight, stop sign, turning from a slow speed, or even starting to accelerate on the freeway after slow (not stopped) traffic. The engine knocks when accelerating after most turns, between 20-30mph. Not only is it embarrassing to have big white plumes of smoke at the back of the car, it doesn't feel safe for my family or good for the car to continue driving to get to 1,000 miles and go have it checked for the next 4,000 miles. Hyundai certainly knows of the problems and are making me "prove" issues through their oil consumption test. Meanwhile, I drive a car that has horrible exhaust fumes, and causes safety concerns as it could stop running anywhere, anytime.Read more

While driving on the interstate I was using Autopilot (cruise control). I started into a slight curve when the vehicle suddenly emergency braked. The roadway was clear and thankfully no vehicle was following close behind me. Also there was no warning alarms, just a sudden, aggressive braking. My wife and myself were on a little road trip and the vehicle lost power while on the freeway. It wouldn't go over 60 mph which was concerning as we were in the middle of freeway traffic. ... able to exit again, turned the vehicle off then restarted and it was ok. We were almost home and it shut off, while driving which is exciting but not in a good way. It restarted and ran fine. It did throw an engine code this time. It said it was a fuel pressure issue. A few days later we figured we should take it by the dealership, which is two hours from our home, and my daughter, my wife and myself headed that way. On the way while driving 60+mph the engine came apart. The cabin filled with smoke and it was hard to steer and brake on top of not being able to see. The engine had multiple holes in it. We had it towed to the dealership and they said the engine wasn't covered as we had the services done at a shop local to us (services were all documented). I've been around engines and cars my entire life and am a mechanic and have never seen a vehicle with 100,000 miles have an engine fail this badly. We're having to put a new engine in just so we can get rid of this car as I don't fill it's safe for my wife or kids to be in with these issues and a manufacturer that just shrugs it off when their product fails this badly. We've spent the last several weeks between the dealer and manufacturer trying to get resolution but nothing. It's our fault this happened they said. ... ighway on an overpass that passes over a highway with a lower speed limit ( 37° 4'54.40"N 94°18'48.09"W). It only occurs in the east bound direction. Tesla says their mapping information is provided by Google and until Google updates or corrects their mapping data, the problem will persist. On a day with no traffic behind me, I did not intervene and allowed the car to brake as it saw fit. I went from 70mph to 40mph all while in a 70mph zone. As I have mentioned, I have been telling Tesla about this since March of 2021 yet it is not resolved.Read more

Since taking ownership of vehicle in summer 2022, have experienced multiple incidents of vehicle emergency braking for no apparent reason while using cruise control. When phantom braking occurs: - It is while using cruise control (with or without steering assist). - There is no audible or visual warning (not even from auto emergency braking system) before or during vehicle braking. - Is a very strong braking force akin to an emergency maneuver. - There is no clear reason for why vehicle braked - no obstacles in road or slowing traffic. - Level of traffic (light or moderate) does not seem to be a factor, but I don't use system in moderate to heavy traffic. - Weather does not appear to be a factor - it can occur in perfect driving conditions (sunny, clear day). In most recent incident, was traveling at 78mph on highway with no traffic in front or behind vehicle for approx. a half mile in either direction. Without warning or reason, vehicle began to brake hard, slowing vehicle down to 62mph before I could disengage system (approx 1-2seconds). Unclear how low vehicle would brake to if cruise control wasn't disengaged. Cruise control feature feels extremely risky to the point that view as unusable in almost all driving situations (even if would be a good time to use cruise control).Read more
