On Sunday, 11 June I was driving from Brigatine, NJ back to Alexandria, VA. Just east of Baltimore around 11:45am, after about 2.5 hours of driving, I tried to accelerate on I-95. ... ight, and fluid light after the car shut down. I tried to restart, but it would not catch or just sputtered. I waited a minute, tried again and it started but then went out about 20 seconds later. At that point I called AAA for a tow. After the tow was arranged, I started the car for a short time and pulled farther off the highway, then shut it down again. About 45 minutes or so later, I started the car and ran it for several minutes at idle while waiting for the tow truck. The AAA truck showed up, and I took the tow because I did not want to break down in one of the Baltimore tunnels. On 12 June, the Subaru dealership could not confirm any faults and could not replicate. I have no idea what the issue was. I did stop twice during that 2.5 hours for about 5 minutes each time (bathroom breaks). At the time I had about an 1/8th of a tank of gas in the car with 110 miles in range showing on the computer (figured I would make it home and refill then). Temperatures were warm. The Subaru dealership did not charge me for anything and told me they often get cases they cannot replicate.Read more

That was #1 occurrence & I took it to a transmission shop in July (had not had the problem again) to see what they thought. They did road test, fluid check & scan of control modules for trouble codes/errors & analyzed data stream for inconsistencies - found no error codes or inconsistencies. Incidentally, have been having some type of parasitic draw on my new battery for the past year. Occurrence #2: almost a year later April 2023 I am driving up to 55 mph running errands & I slow down to 45 mph & the engine starts to roar & the van is coasting & the light up area of P-R-N-D backlight is not lit up that is normally lit up & no check codes/warnings have appeared - everything else including front drivers light panel all normally lit. I pull off into a parking lot, put in park, turn it off, then turn back on (still with unlit gear display) & I put in drive & it runs normally around the parking lot & the remaining way home.I have driven it locally for 40-60 miles each time with intermittent stops for about 4-5 times since then & can’t replicate the problem again. One of the other lines on the front left was bulging in the area of the discoloration, suggesting that one was close to failure as well. There are no signs of abrasion on the lines themselves, it appears the stainless braided line that encases the teflon inner line is corroding or degrading for some reason. Vehicle was under warranty at the time of this repair. 2. On 03/12/2020 brakes were unresponsive again with the brake pedal not working properly. During operation of the vehicle, the brake pedal would drop to the floorboard and shudder as its dropping without slowing the vehicle in a timely manner. I was driving to an oil change appointment at the dealership and advised them of the issue. 3/12/20 Vacuum pump ordered at this time under a special extended warranty coverage given by GM due to this issue with many vehicles. 03/18/2020 Vacuum pump replaced for the second time. 3. 04/07/2021 brakes unresponsive again with shuddering while pressing the brake pedal with pedal dropping to the floor then pushing my foot back up as I press down while not slowing the vehicle in a timely manner. I was driving to the store when this happened and again drove straight to the dealership. I have family members that will let me borrow their vehicle. Dealership notes that since the vacuum pump has been replaced 2 times, they advise to scan the system and they now find the brake booster vacuum sensor to have an internal failure with booster losing vacuum. 04/07/21 Brake booster vacuum sensor and brake booster replaced by dealership at a cost of $759.29 4. 06/05/23 Brakes again doing the same thing. Steering components broke when turning the truck around, this happened 30 miles up a Forest service rd. while out sightseeing. Had to be towed a long way ($1200) for the towing. and the steering repair for $1150.00, if this would have happened at speed when we were towing our camper it would have been terrible. ... s side stopped working, traced the wire back to the TIPM and there is no power coming out for this wire. Reading up on this issue it seems to be a very standard problem in 2006 and above trucks. This should be a recall item as it can cause serious problems when driving at night or in bad weather. I have seen that the Tipm has been recalled on only certain models, this makes no sense to me. There were no warnings on either of these failures. The TIPM headlight problem is in the Dodge shop now trying to be resolved, the steering was repaired at another shop as we were out of town.Read more

After filling up vehicle (not overfilled) it stalls when I come to a stop or slow down for a turn. This just started today after filling up from the same fuel station I always use. The Jeep restarts after a few seconds after turning it completely off.

Vehicle stopped while driving on road. Car show "active brake assist malfunction" on the dashboard, immediately following the car will not accelerate. Shut the car off and restart, then the "check engine light" comes up. The active brake assist does not come up again, but the check engine light states on. I have taken the vehicle 5 times for this issue to the dealer, car is currently at the deal

As I was driving and began to slow down the vehicle switched from gas to electric driving and during the transition the entire vehicle started shaking excessively. As it happened it felt like the engine or transmission was the cause of the shake. This has happened 4 times randomly so far.
