The speedclips which hold the Map Light in place are formed incorrectly. The interior teeth that retain the Map Light's molded retention tabs are bent too aggressively. Over time, in both our 2017 Rogue and 2019 Rogue, road vibrations caused the teeth to gnaw entirely through the plastic. This causes the Map Light to fall down and "deploy" suddenly into the driver's field of vision. When the map
... light falls, it not only startles the driver, it obstructs approximately 40-50% of the windshield. Nissan considers this a "cosmetic" issue and thus, it is not covered under ANY Nissan extended warranty. The cost to have it replaced with another part that will STILL fail in the exact same manner is over $1,200. This is a SERIOUS life safety issue since it is likely to fall at high speeds when the car naturally vibrates the most. It happened in 100% of the Rogues we have owned and always at highway speeds. It was repaired under the 3/36K factory warranty on our 2017, but now Nissan claims that it is a "cosmetic" and not covered under our "best you can get" Nissan extended warranty. Eventually, it will cause a serious accident and possibly death of both vehicle occupants and others on the road.Read more

My vehicle stalled abruptly as I came to a stop while driving on a slope. Shortly afterward I determined that this was caused by a loose battery terminal; the battery had been replaced a day earlier. This much was the fault of the mechanic, not the manufacturer. My complaint is with respect to the state which the vehicle failed into: 1. The gear shift was stuck in drive and could not be moved int
... o park. 2. It was not possible to engage the parking break, as it can only be controlled by an electronic switch. 3. The steering wheel column was locked. As a result of this, the only way to prevent the vehicle from rolling backward down the hill was to continuously keep my foot on the brake. It also was not possible, as a result of the locked steering wheel column, to guide the vehicle downhill safely. I was stuck holding the brake and unable to get out of my vehicle until another motorist stopped to give me a jump and enable me to engage the parking brake.Read more

On July 1, while driving 75 mph on I-95 in New Hampshire, while on a road trip from NY to Maine, multiple warning lights illuminated and vehicle immediately lost power steering. I was barely able to get it to the shoulder. Not one Jeep dealership in the area was available to see the car. A local mechanic was able to hook it up and determined that the car lost connectivity. He agreed to keep the car while we continued on our trip with a rental car we found and contacted our Jeep dealer. Two days later, while waiting for our Jeep dealership to tow it home, we learned that the vehicle was completely dead and won't even accept a charge to the battery. Chrysler Customer Service was called and a case was opened on July 3rd. Upon calling back on July 5th, I learned that they "closed" the case. Called back on July 11th and spoke with a different representative who indicated the case was "closed" and there was no indication of my call from July 5th. I was at a corner waiting for traffic to clear so I could make a turn left. When I started to accelerate the vehicle started to hesitate and continued. Honda Service Bulletin 17-040. This is my granddaughters car and
... now I am reluctant to let her drive the vehicle. It is a very serious safety issue!! My frustration is that when I have discussed the issue with 2 different Honda dealers they didn't disclose there was a bulleting but rather recommended changing the transmission fluid and the information was confusing. One dealer recommended changing the fluid once and another recommended I change it three times at the same appointment. Since the incident I have had an opportunity to drive my other granddaughters 2011 Honda CRV and it is displaying the same shudder issue on acceleration and when you are at 40 miles and try to accelerate which she noticed. Obviously, if you were trying to pass another vehicle on a two lane highway and it started the shudder you would be involved in a head on crash resulting in serious injury or death. I believe there should be a recall to correct this problem. The cost to replace the torque converter is $3,000 +. The bulletin 17-040 states the affect vehicles are 2012-14. It needs to be revised to include 2011 Honda CRV vehicle. I found the bulletin myself through a group that shares information regarding Honda CRV vehicles. My car's emergency brake failed to work and my car's rear slid downhill into a 90 degree angle. The front passenger bumper of my car hit the front driver bumper of the car parked behind me. This happened while I was parallel parking in front of my home, which is on right side of a street with an uphill incline. I turned my car's front wheels away from the curb, which is why my car's rear spun into
... a 90 degree angle. There is a small driveway between my car and the car behind me, which is why my car had the space to spin and slide into 90 degree angle in the middle of the street. I could have sworn my car was shifted to park, but it's possible that I was shifted to reverse or neutral. I almost 100% sure that I initiated my emergency parking break and that it failed to turn on. I had started to exit the driver side door and my legs were outside of the car already when I noticed the car to slide backwards. I panicked and I tried to get back into the car, but I couldn't. My legs were dragged across the street. I have some minor injuries such as bumps, cuts and bruises. My car stopped from sliding when it hit the car behind me. I could have been seriously injured. There should have been some "fail safe" to prevent me from exiting the car when it's possible it could start to move. I'm considering selling my car because of this issue.Read more
