In addition to excessive oil consumption, the car can experience a sudden loss of power while driving (which is a safety issue) and engine knocking. My mechanic has inspected the car, run the oil consumption test (which the car failed) and told me that the piston and rings need to be replaced. He also stated that he has seen this in Audi's and that it is a known problem. Currently, my low oil light is coming on every 800 miles (normal would be 5000+miles). Driver side head rest air bag deployed completely on its own while I was sitting at a red light. It slammed forward with such great force hitting me in the back of my head and caused a horrible headache. It is available for inspection. My safety is at risk everytime I get in my car due to the fact it is a safety feature put in place by Jeep to prevent whiplash or any type of head or neck injury.

Under certain conditions, the accelerator pedals fails to provide propulsion when depressed. The most common scenario in which this happens is when leaving a parking area and proceeding onto a roadway, especially if the parking area is elevated above the street slightly. ... the slight downhill, or transition onto the roadway. When the accelerator pedal is depressed again, nothing happens. Often the pedal will travel all the way to the floor with no result. Or sometimes, the engine/transmission "catches" and an abnormally large amount of power results in spinning tires. In any case, this is extremely dangerous, and has nearly caused accidents with oncoming traffic when pulling out onto busy streets. It happens fairly reliably, approximately 70% of the time when depressing the accelerator pedal more than once. I have not sought dealer service on this yet but will be in the coming weeks.Read more

Sep 2020 purchased 6 Cooper Discoverer AT3 (LT235/80 R17) tires to replace OEM tires, mileage 12,885. On/around Sep 2022 while towing a 38' 5th wheel trailer, front end of truck started bouncing, mileage 26,334. Both driver and passenger tires where found to have tread separation. Twice now the A/C has quit, and a short time later the Hybrid battery severely overheats and the van shuts down. This happens at highway speeds, and the vehicle loses power and shuts down. This is dangerous to have a sudden shutdown at 75 MPH. When driving in hot weather for a couple hours, the electric A/C compressor quits. On this van, the Hybrid battery is cooled by the passenger HVAC system.
... When the A/C quits first you feel the air from the ducts getting warm. Then you get a message on the dash for "Battery Conditioning" and a Check Engine light. If you keep driving, it stalls and will not restart until the battery cools off. It takes about 3-4 hours to get the van to move again at reduced power. If you let it cool overnight, the van drives normally until the next incident. There are trouble codes set for battery overheating, P0A7E, P1AA6, P1A9A, P1A21, P1AA2, P1A9E. There have been multiple unsuccessful attempts to diagnose the van by Chrysler dealers. Dealers can't/won't replicate this due to having to drive for approximately 2 hours in high ambient temps. The vehicle is fine in moderate or cold temps due to not needing the A/C to cool the battery, it is cooled and heated by secondary systems in those conditions. This issue is very dangerous because lithium batteries do not like extreme high temperatures, this issue could cause a thermal runaway event of the battery. Many of the codes that were set are for the battery temperature exceeding 131F (55C), which is severely hot for Li-Ion. This is much hotter than safe high temp recommendation for Li-Ion. Recall 03A for not giving warning before stalling was performed, however this issue is not the same symptom, nor the same cause as that recall. That recall involves a transmission short, not battery overheating. My van has had multiple reflashes and is up to date on all software. My vehicle was a "lemon law" buyback for the same stall issue, and was purported to have been fixed before I purchased the van.Read more

On March 30, 2023, my 2022 AMG GLE 53 check engine warning light came on. I immediately called Capitaleurocars the Mercedes Benz dealer. On May 1, 2023, according to the Capitaleurocars service order, the technician noted the following: "found the check engine light on" then performed "a guided test for fault code (P146264) and found fuel pressure and temp sensor passing test." ... rote "Checked PTSS cases and checked for related LI documents. Found LI-47.50-p-070263 which states that software is under development for this issue. no software available at this time. Cleared code and released back to customer." Capitaleurocars service department could not tell me when the software update would be issued, but I would be notified as soon as it was released. I was also told that on September 6, 2022, a temperature sensor was replaced on the vehicle due to the check engine warning light being on. I asked if the issue on September 6, 2022, was the same issue I was having and I was told yes, it was the same fault code. So, approximately a month before I purchased the car on October 1, 2022, the check engine warning light was on and a temperature sensor was replaced. The Capitaleurocars service department suggested I call MBUSA Customer Service to get more information about the software update. I researched the LI document number and found that NHTSA had received a complaint on 06/25.2020, with same the LI 47.50-p-070263 document number and fault code P146264. The complaint to NHTSA was on a GLE and noted as follows: Complaint: Check engine light active and FC P146264 Temp. and pressure sensor B4/7 is stored in engine control unit and tank control unit. Check engine light came on, a day after purchasing from dealer. Mileage at 55k. Check engine light code was p052e71, confirmed from 2 auto repairers. One was Mercedes Benz who quoted me $3900 to repair. In the Mercedes Benz booklet warranty says emission related repairs are covered for 15 years/150k miles for hybrid vehicles.

I was pulling into a parking space at my work parking lot, where I have been parking my car for the past 2.5 years. I was slowly parking the CRV, my foot was not applying any pressure on the gas, I was slowly easing into the parking space and as I was putting my foot on the brake to stop, it was very hard as if it was locked and the car kept going. I had no control of the vehicle as I frantically tried to brake- it was locked. I have reported a claim to State Farm insurance company and to Honda Claims. The Auburn, CA police came to the scene and completed a report. Honda just took the facts of loss and did not conduct any investigation. My insurance company has yet to inspect the vehicle or transfer the vehicle to a Honda dealership to rule out manufacturer defect.It is sitting at their preferred shop Caliber Collision of Rocklin, for the damage to be assessed.Read more

Ford Focus went into automatic limp mode after a dead battery with no reverse. I've heard it's an ongoing issues with these cars. Steering wheel left and right signals are hard to control while driving. Narrowly escaped accident because I have to look at steering wheel to press signal button. I am not sure how this signal cleared safety concerns. It happened several times , I stop looking at road and find signal to press it.
