We bought this vehicle brand new in 2018, since then it has had an entire new engine, numerous check engine lights and safety recalls. There are now 2 recalls that pose a risk for my family and I with no solutions provided. Chrystler refused to buy back the vehicle or provide us with a loaner while a solution is not available. This type of business is not right. I’m left with an unsafe vehicle.

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding two critical component failures in my 2013 Tesla Model S within the past 12 months, both of which occurred shortly after the manufacturer's warranty had expired. These issues have not only been financially burdensome but also raise questions about the reliability and longevity of Tesla vehicles. Motor Replacement: In Sept 2022, I was compelled
... to replace the motor in my Tesla Model S at a cost of $6,304.89. This occurred despite my vehicle maintaining a clean record and having only around 70k miles on it at the time. The timing of this failure, immediately after the expiration of the manufacturer's warranty, is concerning and suggests a potential design or manufacturing flaw. Battery Replacement: Most recently, I have been informed that the battery in my Tesla Model S requires replacement at an estimated cost of $15,545.97. Like the motor failure, this comes as a substantial financial burden, and again, it has happened just after the warranty period has ended. I find these consecutive, high-cost component failures within a short timeframe to be unacceptable and have led me to question the overall reliability of Tesla vehicles. As a responsible and safety-conscious consumer, I believe it is vital to report these issues to the NHTSA to ensure the safety and protection of all Tesla owners and the general public. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigates these repeated component failures in Tesla vehicles, particularly the motor and battery, and assesses whether there may be any systemic issues that warrant further action or recalls. It is crucial for the NHTSA to uphold and enforce safety standards in the automotive industry to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. I have attached relevant documents and receipts as evidence of the mentioned repairs for your reference. - [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Driver-side A-pillar trim piece broke and partially detached from vehicle while driving on an interstate (appx 70mph). Initially, one small and quick pop noise was heard, but the sound came from outside and it was assumed it was road debris. Approximately 15 seconds later, the left A-pillar trim piece suddenly partially detached from the body of the car in such a fashion that the bottom clip was b
... roken, but still attached only by a weak bond to the rubber seal beneath the trim piece and the top of the trim piece was sticking away from the vehicle by approximately six to eight inches. We immediately pulled off to the side of the interstate and the A-pillar trim piece was debonded from the rubber seal by a gentle pull. Had this weak bond with the rubber seal not been there, the entire A-pillar trim piece could have easily completely detached and become a hazard to other vehicles traveling on the interstate, potentially flying off and hitting another vehicle or puncturing a tire. There were no previous signs of wear, damage, or malfunction to the A-pillar trim piece. This incident is not reproducible, and was not inspected by any outside party. The broken A-pillar trim piece and pictures of the failed attachments are available for inspection upon request.Read more

I took the car to a local DC Mercedes mechanic who ran a diagnostic but nothing came up because the systems were functioning at the time. He took the car for a drive and they stopped working for him. He said take it to a dealer. I have an appointment for next week. I also have searched for this problem on social and it is definitely a problem with other owners. The part is nearly $700 and it is a big job to pull the steering wheel and replace this. I think this is a serious flaw and consumers should not be burdened with non-working turn signals. I think it might be a design flaw in their switch. Please look into this if you think as I do. Thank you.Read more

Multiple attempts to reach Jeep executives over several days has yielded no response. My 2022 Ram 2500 with only 9,900 miles failed to start requiring it be towed to the dealership. The technician determined there was metal shavings in high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) so they contacted Ram engineers and started a STAR case. After two months and countless "pictures" taken
... and sent the the Ram engineers, they claim it was contaminated fuel which caused the metal shavings to be found in the HPFP. The engineers stated that there were no metal shavings found in the return filter so the metal shaving came from "contaminated fuel." This logic is impossible because for metal shavings to make it from the fuel tank to the HPFP and be visible they must travel through two fuel filter, one of which filters down to 5 microns. The dealership acknowledged the engineers logic didn't make sense to them either. The return filter showed some debris but if metal shavings can pass through a 5 micron paper filter than it would also pass through the metal screen found on the return line inside the tank. On 10/24/22 I took my 2016 Hyundai Tucson into dealership Springfield Hyundai 754 Baltimore Pike Springfield PA 19064 for a faulty drivers side window. At that time they advised the issue with the window was 'striped gear' and replaced 'drivers window regulator' under the extended warranty I purchased when I bought the vehicle. At that same time there was also an issue in the left front door lat
... ch and it was replaced under 'warranty.' On 03/03/23 the right rear door also had a latch issue and was replaced at that time. About a week ago, my front passenger side window stopped working. It will not go up or down. I returned to the same dealership on 07/27/2023. I was advised that 'found right front window regulator and motor gears are splined. Both parts need to be replaced. Charge is $890.98.' The car's extended warranty has expired and I would need to pay for this out of my pocket. My concern here is what I consider a trend with my vehicle experiencing window issues and it has not even reached 100K miles - in addition to the door latch issues. By the way, I also have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra which has also had to have almost every door latch replaced. After this second window issue popped up, I became curious and searched the internet for 2016 Hyundai Tucson window issues. And to no surprise, there are multiple consumers with complaints reporting the same exact issue as I am, with their windows as well. Based on current trends and concerns with your car manufacturing, parts, missing basic anti-theft tools, cars being stolen, and a plethora of other issues I am confident this issue with my window is at fault of Hyundai's poor production, manufacturing, and quality control. Windows are an emergency exit. In the case of an accident, you need to be able to open the window to exit if it is the only viable option. You can become trapped inside your vehicle if the windows do not work. Window needs to be operable to combat exhaust that may be trapped inside vehicle.Read more
