I am attempting to complete a manufacturer-issued safety recall involving my vehicle’s airbag system, which includes a “Do Not Drive” advisory due to the risk of airbag inflator failure. Despite multiple good-faith attempts, I have encountered repeated barriers at the dealership level that have prevented timely completion of the repair. I scheduled a service appointment with Culver City To
... yota and clearly indicated I required a rental vehicle to leave my car. My confirmation stated “Arrangement: Rental Vehicle,” and the appointment was scheduled accordingly. When I arrived, I was told no rentals were available and that they are first-come, first-served. I was turned away and told to return another day. When I returned, I was able to leave my vehicle, but was asked how long I would need the rental without being given a repair timeline. Only after asking was I told the repair would take approximately two days. This was not communicated in advance, and given the prior lack of rental availability, it is unclear how I would have been expected to proceed without transportation. This has occurred across multiple attempts: lack of rental availability and requests to leave my vehicle for extended periods without transportation have made it difficult or impossible to complete the recall. As a result, I have been placed in the position of continuing to operate a vehicle with a known safety defect under a “Do Not Drive” advisory due to the inability to access timely and practical repair. I am concerned that dealership-level processes are creating barriers that delay or prevent consumers from completing urgent safety recalls. As of today, I have left my car at this dealership for the recall repair, however the inconsistent communication and handling of this process have created uncertainty about whether the repair will be completed in a timely and reliable manner. Seeing reviews online, I'm not the only one who's had this issue and the GM is non responsive.Read more

The issues lies in the Hybrid systems electric only function. When climbing grades, the vehicle experiences severe power loss which can be felt by the driver and is displayed by the vehicle on the dashboard information cluster. Power output from the hybrid system drops to or below 50% output even when pressing the accelerator to maximum. This issue occurs almost every time climbing a steep grade
... regardless of exterior temps. After losing speed and power on a steep grade while working the accelerator to or near maximum application the engine is activated abruptly without warning and without the proper hybrid warm up sequence and causes startling shifting by the powertrain and jerks the vehicle. This behavior began after Recall 68C was performed and hybrid Battery replacement.Read more

When driving vehicle and making left or right turns clicking and knocking noises can be heard and felt. It is consistent with both wide and tight turns. Not intermittent. No outside factors causing noises. Concern was validated by finding Honda forums detailing other owners having the same issue. There are no warning lights or messages displayed. Honda states publicly that this is not a safety hazard but it could result in sudden failure of those parts which would prove to be a dangerous safety hazard. Vehicle would be made available for inspection upon request. Only Honda has inspected for this issue at this time. No independent repair shop, insurance or law enforcement.Read more

My Mercedes Benz GLE450e Hybrid SUV has had a persistent but sporadic safety issue that suddenly causes the vehicle to go into "turtle mode" with a "performance extremely limited" warning when trying to accelerate quickly or sometimes when breaking quickly. In turtle mode, the car quickly loses acceleration, drops in speed and is then unable to accelerate properly. The sudden drop in speed and in
... ability to accelerate causes a major safety issue while driving - particularly on roads with other vehicles also travelling at high speeds. Last Friday, I was driving with my family on Interstate 95 when a tractor trailer truck did not see me beside it and started to switch into my lane. I tried to quickly accelerate to get out of the way before it hit us but my car went into "turtle mode" and the speed suddenly dropped by 15 or 20mph and would no longer drive correctly. Luckily, I was in the right lane and able to swerve onto the shoulder of the highway and narrowly avoid the large truck. Otherwise, if I had been in a middle lane, I would have either been hit by the truck or likely hit another car next to me. This issue has been sporadically occurring with my car for about 5 months now. I have had it into the Mercedes dealer three times and, each time, they say they think they fixed the issue. But, each time the same issue has returned. They said that Mercedes USA knows it is a big issue with their new hybrid SUVs but Mercedes doesn't yet know how to fix the problem and has been unwilling to publicly acknowledge the problem or offer it's customers any assistance. Doing a quick Google search online for "Mercedes hybrid performance extremely limited" also quickly brings up different online forums where other owners of this same car have had the exact same issue that Mercedes has been unable to fix or resolve. Driving a car that can suddenly lose the ability to accelerate is a major safety hazard and I would sincerely appreciate if the NHTSA would help to address itRead more

I own a 2018 Toyota Camry XSE with a sunroof that is currently stuvck in tilt/ open position and will not close. Multiple independent mechanics have refused to attempt repair due to the high likelihood of the glass or mechanism breaking, and have advised that only Toyota dealership should handle the issue due to liability concerns. This appears to be a common issue reported by other Toyota Camry
... owners with similar model years, suggesting a potential defect in the sunroof mechanism or design. The failure creates a safety concern because the vehicle is exposed to water intrusion, which can lead to electrical damage, mold, and reduced visibility while driving in rain. Additionally, the inability to secure the sunroof compromises the structural integrity and safety of the vehicle. The estimated repair cost exceeds $8,500 for parts alone, which is unreasonable for a sunroof failure and suggests a larger design issue rather than normal wear and tear. I am requesting that this issue be investigated as a potential defect and that Toyota be held responsible if a pattern is confirmed.Read more

There are two issues 1) Unsure of the exact date, but about a year or two ago we were driving our car and the car's automatic break system went into effect on a typically busy, 3 lane road despite there not being any cars in front of our vehicle. We took it into the dealership, who confirmed the issue and told us that sometimes the automatic brake mis-identifies the metal plates in the roads to
... be vehicles. Had there been a car driving behind us at the time this was happening, it could have been a major accident as the speed limit on that road was 45mph. Additionally we had our [XXX] in the car. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms of the problem prior to failure. 2) Recently we have been having a warning sign on our car that says the 12v battery is low, even though it should not be. Historically this would tell us to drive our car around so the battery wouldn't die, but this would sometimes turn on even after a 30+ minute drive. It was turning on every single time we turned the car off, so we brought it into the shop. While in the shop, the dealer provided us with a brand new GLC 300. I took this GLC 300 to my son's daycare to drop him off and when I returned to the car I received an error message "48V battery service required" and could not turn on the vehicle. This brand new vehicle left me stranded. While I was safe at my son's daycare, this has caused me to have significant concerns around the safety and reliability of these GLC300s. We are planning on taking our 2023 GLC 300 on a 6 hour road trip with our [XXX] old and [XXX] old and I am very concerned about the car not starting if we stop for gas. What if we get stranded in a small city along the way? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Driving home mid morning Thursday , March 5, 2026 on smooth paved rural road, 50MPH, sunny, temp was 40 degrees, no vehicles anywhere near us, our Panoramic Sunroof shattered on our 2013 Mercedes GLK 250. We heard a loud "BANG", but had no idea what it was. I slowed down, pulled over and while looking up, I noticed the sunroof had completely shattered and cracks were spreading as we sat watching i
... t. I drove home short distance and parked the GLK in the garage. There are no visible signs of an impact to the glass exterior nor interior. To keep it from falling into the cab, I taped the inside and outside with clear packing tape. The vehicle is out of warranty and we don't have comp nor collision on it anymore due to it's age. While researching for glass replacements, I found that there are numerous Class Action Lawsuits for this issue. This is a very dangerous defect and safety issue as when the glass shattered, it was as loud as a shotgun blast and very unnerving. The vehicle is currently undriveable and unsafe.Read more

After driving the 2025 c300 sedan and leaving it parked for an hour or two, I come back to the car and turn it on. Neither the central screen or drivers screen were operable. The engine, interior lighting, sounds, and other systems were working however all the screens were completely dead. The car had no speedometer, gear selection, park brake, A/C control, or any function. This is the second time
... it has happened first on 02/12/2026 and then today on 03/17/2026. After locking the car and leaving it alone for an hour, functions restart normally. This is unacceptable and has already happened twice. The car is undrivable as no speedometer, gear, parking/etc is display. Nothing is display as the car has only two displays. The car is running the latest version of MBUX 3.3 and is up to date via OTA software updates.Read more
