I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 FORD EGDE, WHEN I NOTICED THAT IT WAS TAKING LONGER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. ALSO, WHEN I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES, THERE WAS AN AIR SOUND. IT WAS LIKE IT WAS HISSING. I KNEW SOMEHTING WAS WRONG. I THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE I JUST HAD THE FRONT BRAKES REPLACED AND THAT THE MECHANIC MAY HAVE FORGOTTEN TO BLEED THE LINES OR THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LOW ON BRAKE FLUID. I WENT BACK TO T
... HE MECHAINC AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT AGAIN. THEY FIGURED OUT THAT IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTER THAT WAS FAULTY AND THAT THE PART WAS INEXPENSIVE BUT THE LABOR WAS HIGH BECUASE OF THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES TO FIX IT. I WENT ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND THERE WAS FOR CERTAIN 2010 FORD EDGES. WHEN I TYPED IN MY VIN, THE RECALL DID NOT COME UP. I CALLED FORD DIRECT TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THEY SAID THAT MY VIN WAS NOT. NOW MIND YOU, THE VEHICLE IS 14 YEARS OLD, BUT IT ONLY HAD 107989 MILES ON IT. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET IT FIXED. IT COST 1255.26. THAT INCLUDED THE STOP LIGHT SWITCH THAT HAS TO BE REPLACED WHEN REPLACING THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ALL OF THE 2010 FORD EDGES WEREN'T RECALLED BECAUSE IT SEEMS THAT JUST ABOUT EVERY ONE THAT OWNS ONE WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THIS.Read more

I purchased a 2024 TESLA model Y and received delivery of my Tesla vehicle on [XXX], at 4 PM EST. Upon receiving the vehicle, I noticed manufacturing defects on the tail lights, which I reported to Tesla Support immediately and scheduled an appointment on September 29. Unfortunately, no appointments were available at that time, and my service date was postponed to October 28, 2024. On [XXX], whil
... e traveling at low speeds, the rear passenger tire of my vehicle unexpectedly exploded. They are the factory-installed Continental tires 255/45/19. The car had to be towed to Tesla in Coral Gables, where they installed a temporary tire and quoted me $517.35 for replacement—despite the vehicle being less than a month old. Since delivery, I’ve also observed that my tail lights have accumulated water, indicating a potential safety hazard and manufacturing defect. I have contacted Tesla Support on multiple occasions, but they have not provided clear guidance on whether a loaner vehicle will be provided while these issues are addressed. The lack of timely and effective support for these escalating defects has been extremely frustrating and concerning. Primary Concerns: Safety hazards related to the tire explosion and water accumulation in the tail lights. Delays in service appointment scheduling. Lack of clarity and support from Tesla regarding service procedures, such as whether a loaner vehicle will be provided. Given these issues, I am requesting assistance from the NHTSA in addressing the quality and safety of this vehicle, as these defects and delays are affecting my ability to operate it safely and reliably. Thank you for your attention to this matter. [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I was driving on a highway, there was a red light and I pressed on the brakes. The car kept going forward, the brakes became resistant to any pressure and the car continued to roll forward. There were no warning lights when the car was started or during the incident. I kept trying to brake the car, but the car kept moving forward and was about to hit the car in front of me. The cars around me star
... ted honking, trying to move out of the way; Luckily the light turned red and the car in front of me was able to move out of the way. I could not press on the gas or the break, I decided to turn the ignition off and the car was able to turn off. I re-started the car and then was able to go again. Had this been on the highway and I was moving at a faster speed, I probably wouldn't be typing this right now and would be in the ER with potentially others. This is the second time an issue like this happened. The first time the car was in reverse and it wouldn't brake and I almost slammed into the car behind me. The brakes and gas were not responsive. I took it to a mechanic right away, got new brakes, rotors, engine and transmission was checked. A couple months later this happened again.Read more

There is also an open recall for this car, which was not fixed by the dealership (NHTSA Recall Number 24V608: ENGINE COOLANT PUMP) and I was told there is no remedy for this available. I was driving on the highway during rush hour when a loud beeping noice began. My 15 year old cousin was in the passenger seat and began to check for the source of the beeping. I was driving 55mph on a busy highway with no safe shoulder stop. As I was preparing for the exit, the brakes suddenly became dysfunctional. The pedal was extremely hard to press down and I found myself unable to slow down
... the car in enough time to avoid hitting upcoming traffic. I found myself in an urgent, life threatening situation and needed to pull over into the emergency lane located before the exit. I could not just consider my safety, but that of other drivers and my 15 year old passenger. She is traumatized. I was able to get the car to stop with my entire weight on the pedal. Once stopped, I scrambled to find the reason for the sudden brake problem, checking if anything rolled under my foot, if the floor mat was loose, if the gear shift was wrong, even checked if I accidentally hit the emergency brake. Nothing was out of place. No new dash lights. I looked in the manual. I had no information. I went to jiffy lube and they performed a diagnostic test and informed me they are unable see all the codes with hybrids because Toyota’s computer can only see Just in August I went to Toyota for my oil change, nothing was said about the brakes needing to be fixed and how repairing them now would prevent the failure of the accumulator pump system. If I had known paying $400-$500 for the brakes then would prevent having to pay $3000 to replace a pump. I would have made that sacrifice and went outside of my budget. This is paramount information that should be disclosed to all Toyota customers that take their car in for care and pay. After further research, I STRONGLY BELIEVE TOYOTA EMPLOYEES PURPOSELY WITHHOLD INFORMATION FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS NOT INFORMING CONSUMERS ABOUT AVOIDING PUMP FAILURE AND THE NEED REPAIR THEIR BRAKES AND IS COMPLICIT IN ANY INCIDENT CAUSED BY PUMP FAILURE MAY CAUSE.Read more

MY [XXX] ’S) SUDDEN ACCELERATION INCIDENT [XXX] - TOYOTA RAV4 2021: I was gliding into a parking space with my foot on the brake and as I went to straighten out the wheel to come to a full stop the car lurched forward full speed and smashed into the car parked in the row that was facing me. Good thing there was no one in that car, it had been backed in so I hit the rear end of it. The damage
... is so extensive it is beyond comprehension. My airbags did not deploy, which they should have. I saw that the ‘malfunction brake’ orange light was illuminated as I went crashing into the parked car and could not believe that the automatic anti-collision brake system failed - it was as if the car was possessed and the scariest thing ever. Towed to the dealer I bought it from. I have now read all of these other incidents that are the same as mine and this is no joke. We all could have been killed and there are people that most likely have been that have never been reported. I have been driving for over 40 years and have never experienced anything like it. Computers and software have glitches all the time, and if Toyota does not do something about this that means they do not care if their customers die. That makes them murderers. I loved my RAV4 more than anything, it is an eplugin hybrid and the best! I would/will never drive that car again, ever, and I am going to see to it that Toyota Corp, who is liable, reimburses me every penny I spent on that car, plus any legal fees and hourly wages for how much time I now have to spend on dealing with this whole thing, one of which is having to prove to my insurance company that this was NOT my fault so my rates do not go up! The dealer paid off my lease and never made me come pick up the car as I never had it fixed. Of course my insurance went up as they had to pay the damage to the other car!
