Subject: Urgent Safety Concern Regarding 2023 GMC Canyon Fuel Pump Module Failure I am writing to express my concerns regarding a significant safety issue I experienced with my 2023 GMC Canyon, which has only 3,000 miles on the odometer. On November 12, 2024, while traveling southbound on Interstate 75 in Florida, my vehicle unexpectedly lost all power. All electronics, including the dashboard a
... nd display screens, shut off, and the engine stalled. I was forced to coast to a stop on the shoulder, directly on the bridge section of I-75 over U.S. 301. With less than 12 inches of clearance between my driver’s side and passing traffic, this situation posed a severe risk to my safety. To make matters worse, the tow truck driver was unable to safely and properly secure my vehicle due to the danger presented by the high-speed traffic. My vehicle has now been at the GMC dealership for seven days, and I have been informed that the issue was caused by a faulty fuel pump module. I believe this represents a critical safety defect that warrants immediate attention and possibly a recall. Upon further research, I have found similar reports of fuel pump module failures in online forums, indicating that this may be a widespread issue affecting other owners across the country. In addition, when the tow truck dropped my vehicle off at the GMC dealership, after reading the engine codes the dealership found 18 active engine codes. I feel as if this is a possible known issue and I should have been informed when purchasing the vehicle. I kindly request your assistance in addressing this matter. I urge GMC to investigate the extent of this defect and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of all affected vehicles and their drivers. Thank you for your prompt attention to this urgent matter. Please let me know how GMC plans to proceed. I am available to provide additional information or documentation if needed.Read more

My Honda Pilot started having a jerky-hesitation-lack of power at certain RPMs and make a loud clicking noise during acceleration. I had my mechanic look at it when I took it in for inspection. He said that the rod bearings were causing the noise and that the engine needs to be replaced. He advised me to check for any Honda Pilot recalls that might apply because he said rod bearings should not be
... an issue. Although there is a recall from some 2016 Honda Pilots for rod bearings, but my VIN number is not within the recall numbers. I called Honda and they said that the recall only applied to cars on the assembly line at a certain time. They recommended getting a diagnoses from a certified Honda service center, and maybe I could get what they call a "good faith" repair. The Honda service center would only say they hear "lower engine noise," and that to say it was rod bearings they would have to charge me $600 to drop the oil pan. I didn't because I can't afford it. However, at the bottom of the invoice, they gave a quote for replacing the rod bearings. I was able to find out about the rod bearings before something dangerous happened, but I am also unable to afford a new engine in my Pilot right now. So, I am barely driving it (only when I have no other choice-we have 3 children and are primarily using one car right now). The Honda dealership told me that because I bought my Pilot used and don't have the service records, that I wouldn't qualify for the the "good faith" repair anyway. I just saw a news article that you were opening an investigation into 2016 pilots for problems with rod bearings, so I wanted to file this report, even though I have been lucky enough not to have an accident because of it. I am attaching both my regular mechanics' invoice, as well as the one from Honda.Read more

There are times that the SUV does not want to propel forward (like the AT4 cannot get out of its own way) Also, when making a sharp right turn followed by an immediate left turn, onto uneven surface, the AT4 acts as though it is confused as to what gear it should be. The garage was then notified that I know have whining sound. At one point the garage had the AT4 for a week, the general manage drove it, did not feel anything. I then returned, took him for drive and he felt it. Left the car for him to take one of the "transmission" repair individuals out on a drive with the scan tool hooked up. I have a 2023 VW GTI with a manual transmission. It has a feature called "Hill Hold Assist", where it enables the parking brake when you are uphill and at a stop, at a red traffic light, for example. The issue is the feature does not disengage the parking brake for about 3 seconds after you engage the gas to begin moving the car. It basically holds the car for too long when you are trying to ge
... t moving. This feature has become more of a hinderance and safety concern, than an assistance: 1) Almost rear ended by another car as the Hill Hold Assist would not disengage at a traffic light 2) The amount of gas and clutch use while the car is being held in place while engaged negatively impacts the longevity of the clutch 3) In the case of an emergency, I am unable to move the vehicle when I need to - this is most concerning. This function would not be an issue if there was a way to disable "Hill Hold Assist", or reduce the time it takes to disengage, but unfortunately Volkswagen did not include a way to disable or adjust this feature in the vehicle's software. I previously had a 2018 GTI, manual transmission, with the same feature. It was far less aggressive, and it could be disabled if needed. This truck had 15933 miles and 24 months old. All s

The exhaust brake and tow haul mode was selected and operational. The vehicle shuddered and made a thump and had an associated check engine light with an Adaptive Cruise Control caution indication. The vehicle started to rapidly speed up downhill and I gently applied the brakes to regain control. I coasted approximately 2 miles to find a safe pull off point in the mountains with no forward gears. After the vehicle was safely stopped I was able to confirm the malfunction with no forward gears and reverse only. I was fortunate to be able to flag a ride after hiking out to the [XXX] to get my wife and I out of the National Forest and get cellular service. The nearest service provider was the Ram dealership in Lewiston Idaho. I made arrangements and the Truck was delivered the next day by a semi tow vehicle. We incurred a two night stay at the Hampton Inn to get repairs lined up and arrange travel home. After multiple conversations with the dealership and a trip down there to discuss the issue with the dealership they finally diagnosed and fixed the problem after 33 days sitting on the lot. The truck was delivered back to me on 9 October. The diagnosis of the K1 and K2 snap ring poses a serious safety issue for owners and operators of this vehicle. My husband was driving and I was in the passenger seat we were driving slow because we were coming to a stop at a red light. All of a sudden we hear a loud sound like a shotgun went off in the car. It felt like something hit my chest hard and like a puff of air. My seat belt all of a sudden was squeezing me. Then it smelled like gun powder. My husband and I were stunned and couldn't understan
... d what had just happened. He thought someone shot at us or something exploded under the car. I was in so much pain I unlocked the seatbelt and I opened my door in the middle of all the traffic stopped and I got out. I felt like I was going to faint. My husband was asking if I was bleeding anywhere. I was looking and saying no but I couldn't understand what just happened. I starting crying and got in the back seat. My husband asked if I wanted to go to the hospital and I said and tell them what! They will think I am crazy. Went to my daughters crying the whole way. She googled and ended up finding a problem with the seat belts. I then started looking as well and came across this man that was on a Ford forum and explained the exact same thing happened to him and his wife. I am so glad we were not going any faster because I don't know how we would have not had an accident. I am now scared of my car and using seatbelts. I called the dealer today and I have an appointment for Monday to get it all looked at. Very disturbing on so many levels.Read more

I am filing this report to highlight ongoing safety and warranty issues with my 2015 Dodge Ram 3500, which is severely impacted by Recall 67A. This recall was intended to address emissions tampering, involving significant obligations for Stellantis/Cummins Inc. under the emissions extended warranty, termed the "Special Extended Warranty." Since the completion of the recall in January 2024, my veh
... icle has been inoperable for a total of 148 days due to significant defects. The vehicle has required six service visits to address these issues, with the most recent visit occurring on October 31, 2024, when it was towed back to the dealership. Throughout this process, I have encountered a lack of effective communication from both Cummins and FCA, and my attempts to resolve these issues were largely ignored until I escalated the matter to federal authorities, including Randall Stone from the U.S. DOJ. The ongoing failure to address these defects has not only violated warranty obligations but also poses a risk to safety, as the vehicle remains inoperable. Impact of the Problem: The inability to use my vehicle has caused considerable disruption to my daily life, preventing me from performing essential tasks, including towing a camper and transporting heavy items. This situation has also led to significant emotional distress, given the prolonged nature of the issues and the lack of adequate responses from the manufacturer. Action Requested: I seek the NHTSA's assistance in investigating these ongoing issues with my vehicle and holding the manufacturer accountable for their failure to uphold warranty obligations and address safety concerns related to emissions defects.Read more

After the car in front of me turned onto a side street, the Forward Collision Warning system alarmed and then the Automatic Emergency Braking slowed my car. I was following at a sufficient distance that I was at no risk of hitting the car in front of me. This incident was a near miss because nobody was following my car, but had someone been following me when my car unexpectedly braked, there woul
... d have been a risk of me being rear-ended. I have not reproduced the error and it would be very burdensome for me to try. I reported this to Nissan Consumer Affairs and they told me to get it inspected by a dealer, which I plan on doing but have not done yet. There were no warning lamps inconsistent with the event. Generally when this system actuates a light or two will come in and then clear on their own. I was focused on the road and not the dashboard so I cannot confirm this happened 100%, but there were no warning lights before or after the event.Read more
