The transmission system on my 2025 Chevrolet Traverse began showing signs of failure approximately 2–3 months after purchase. Symptoms include erratic shifting, gear hesitation, and sporadic power loss while driving. Although the issue was promptly reported to Chevrolet headquarters, I was unable to bring the vehicle to the dealer earlier due to the lack of available loaner vehicles. The car is
... now at the dealership and has been there for nearly three weeks without any updates or contact from the service team. The transmission is available for inspection, and documentation of the issue exists. The malfunction has created safety risks during normal driving, including delayed acceleration when merging into traffic and unexpected gear disengagement at speed. These conditions compromise vehicle control and increase the likelihood of a collision. Additionally, the vehicle produces a persistent squeaky noise from the accelerator pedal during operation, which could indicate underlying mechanical stress or a deeper linkage issue. The sound is both distracting and concerning, especially during highway driving or sudden acceleration attempts.Read more

My 2019 Volkswagen Jetta cannot be refueled — gas nozzle clicks off instantly or overflows. However, since the valve is a powered solenoid, unplugging the system wouldn't allow it to open — this invalidates their test and diagnosis. VW has denied warranty coverage even though the issue clearly falls under the 8-year/80,000-mile federal emissions warranty as defined by the EPA and VW’s own documentation. I also discovered they misrepresented an active recall (#28H7) and falsely told me I had none. VW Customer Care told me about the recall and informed the dealership. VW Customer Care informed me 7/9/25 that the recall had been repaired. Carfax yesterday and your system today show that it still has not been repaired. This is a safety hazard. I cannot refuel reliably, and the dealership is denying coverage while refusing to provide written documentation or a breakdown of findings. My car is disabled and stranded at the dealership since July 24, 2025 and they will barely communicate.Read more

Since the day I picked up the car from the dealership lot, I have had consistent issues with this vehicle simply operating safely and normally. In Arizona, you're legally responsible for a vehicle the moment you sign — even before you drive it off the property — so I was essentially stuck with it. From that point forward, I have been at my dealership nearly every month due to various mechanica
... l and electrical issues. The vehicle has a history of repeated electrical and mechanical failures that affect both safety and basic function. One of the most serious problems is that the car randomly shuts off while driving, including in traffic and at intersections. This happens without warning and creates a serious risk of being hit from behind or losing control of the vehicle. In addition, the car frequently fails to start. It will often require a jump-start just to turn on, but even then, service technicians have told me the battery is not the issue, and in some cases, it doesn’t respond to a jump at all. The problem remains undiagnosed, with technicians saying they cannot pinpoint the cause. The issue appears to be electrical or ignition-related, but no definitive fix has been found. There have also been ongoing problems with the transmission jerking, hesitation during acceleration, and various warning lights coming on, including the battery, check engine, and transmission indicators. These issues began shortly after purchase and have occurred consistently over time. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership numerous times, where they have attempted repairs, but the problems continue. It is not safe to drive and continues to present a major safety hazard due to unexpected shutdowns and unreliable starting. These issues have been acknowledged by the dealer but never resolved, and the vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request.Read more

I'm writing to formally report a serious and potentially dangerous issue with my 2019 Kia Sorento (VIN: [XXX] ), which is experiencing excessive engine oil consumption. This problem began around 55,000 miles and has progressively worsened to the point where I must either frequently top off oil between scheduled changes or get oil changes well ahead of schedule. Despite having two documented deale
... rship oil changes within approximately 2,000 miles and three months, I have received no support from Kia or my extended warranty provider (JM&A). Kia Customer Care has acknowledged the issue, but refuses to inspect, test, or address it unless the KSDS sensor is triggered or the engine seizes — essentially requiring catastrophic engine failure before they will consider any action. JM&A has similarly denied coverage, stating that oil consumption is excluded under their warranty plan. This approach is not only unreasonable — it is dangerous. Running low on oil can lead to sudden engine failure while driving, posing a real risk to both my safety and that of others on the road. I have not been offered any proactive oil consumption test or preventive service by Kia, despite repeated concerns. I am aware that excessive oil consumption is the subject of class action litigation involving Kia vehicles, and that this may reflect a broader pattern of engine-related defects. I believe this situation deserves formal investigation and review, potentially qualifying for recall consideration or an expanded service campaign. I drive daily in the Chicago suburbs with my [XXX] and [XXX] children, which makes the risk of sudden engine failure especially concerning. I am more than willing to provide documentation, including oil consumption logs, service records, and communications with both Kia and JM&A. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this matter for possible investigation into its safety implications and potential systemic nature. My 2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid has experienced three identical and dangerous incidents over a one month period beginning around 60,000 miles. Each time, while driving at highway speeds (60-70 mph) climbing hills or grades, the vehicle suddenly loses all acceleration power accompanied by a rapidly flashing check engine light. This creates an extremely hazardous situation as the vehicle cannot maintain h
... ighway speeds with fast-moving traffic approaching from behind, forcing emergency stops on busy highway shoulders where rear-end collisions become a serious risk. After each incident, turning off the vehicle and waiting 10+ minutes allows normal operation to resume, with the flashing check engine light disappearing. The malfunction involves the engine ignition system, specifically cylinder 4 misfiring as confirmed by diagnostic trouble code P0304 that I captured during the most recent incident. The suspected failing components include the ignition coil, spark plug, or fuel injector for cylinder 4. What makes this particularly dangerous is the complete unpredictability - no warning symptoms appear before each incident, and the failure occurs suddenly under specific conditions that are common in highway driving. Despite three documented occurrences, two separate Honda dealerships have been unable to reproduce the issue or confirm the problem. Both claim they find "no stored codes" even though I have evidence of the P0304 code. The codes appear to be cleared after turning the vehicle off and on. The intermittent nature and specific conditions required (sustained highway speeds while climbing grades) prevent typical shop diagnosis, yet this appears to be a widespread pattern affecting multiple 2021 CR-V Hybrids based on similar owner reports online. The recurring nature combined with the inability of dealers to address the root cause, creates an ongoing safety hazard. The vehicle remains available for inspection.Read more

I am reporting serious and recurring electrical and system failures in my leased 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack EV, leased March 18, 2025. The vehicle has consistently experienced critical malfunctions that pose a threat to driver and public safety. The most dangerous issue is intermittent complete power failure. On at least four occasions, the vehicle failed to start or respond to keyless
... ignition. I was left stranded for 20–40 minutes in various locations with no access to power, movement, or control of the vehicle. These failures occurred without warning and could easily become life-threatening if they happen in traffic or isolated areas. Another severe defect involves the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. The display screen frequently blacks out or shows static while the vehicle is in use. When this happens, I lose access to critical safety features including the speedometer, turn signals, drive mode indicators, battery range, navigation, and system alerts. I’ve had to drive without visual cues, or speed visibility. On many occasions I nearly struck a barrier due to a blind reverse. The vehicle displays warnings such as “Stop Safely. Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon,” “Service Electric Vehicle System,” and “Service Transmission” while in motion. These failures have been documented with photo and video evidence and confirmed by a Stellantis-authorized dealer. A replacement radio assembly was ordered, but I was told there is no ETA, and it could take two months or longer to arrive. In the meantime, I am being told the car is “safe to drive,” despite these repeated system failures. The vehicle has been brought in for repairs four times and is still at the dealership service. The problems have not been resolved, and the issues continue to present a major safety risk.Read more
