I was returning home in my electric Dodge Charger Daytona from work nearing an intersection when my vehicle's dashboard lit up with multiple warnings and entered "turtle mode" a limited power mode where the car no longer accelerates with the accelerator pedal but instead will slowly increase speed until breaks are applied. After getting the vehicle off the road and restarting the car there were no
... longer warnings and the accelerator pedal was working again, but I found on the remainder of the drive home that the regenerative breaking did not work in any of the vehicles 3 settings. This greatly alters the vehicles driving dynamics. I was fortunate to be already stopping when this incident occurred and was able to safely move the vehicle out of the motor way, but suddenly losing control of your vehicles acceleration is greatly concerning.Read more

All the warning lights came on. I took the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis. They told me that the problem was the fuel injectors. The vehicle only has 40,000 miles. They said there was a factory problem with the programming in the ECU and they are aware of the problem. They have issued an extended warranty for this. They now refuse to honor the warranty because my title is a salvage title. A s
... alvage title has nothing to do with their faulty programming. They now want to charge me $1,300.00 to have them fix it. The vehicle is at the dealer now waiting for a remedy 12/5/2025. I think this could be dangerous if it is not repaired. The engine could stall or fail while on the road.Read more

“The PCV valve heater (positive crankcase ventilation heater) on my 2006 BMW 330xi failed and caused an engine bay electrical fire. This component is under an active BMW safety recall for fire risk. Incident date: Dec 3, 2025
I am reporting a serious safety defect involving a vehicle purchased from [XXX] on [XXX]. The vehicle was later involved in a collision that resulted in a total loss. According to the police report, I was not at fault. During this crash, none of the airbags deployed, which indicates a possible defect or prior undisclosed issue with the airbag system. The vehicle was sold with a warranty and was r
... epresented as safe and road-ready. The dealership also provided and managed the full-coverage insurance policy. However, the total-loss claim has been delayed and obstructed, and the dealership has not taken responsibility for ensuring the vehicle’s safety or functionality. There is significant concern regarding the condition of the vehicle prior to sale. Records show that Byrider cleared the vehicle’s computer on July 16, 2025, less than a month before purchase. This may have erased important diagnostic information, including any prior airbag-system faults. Clearing the computer in this manner raises questions about whether a known issue was hidden or whether mandatory diagnostic data was removed before the sale. At the time of purchase, I signed an airbag disclosure form in which Byrider stated: •They had “no knowledge of any reason why the airbag system would not operate properly,” and •They “cannot guarantee that the airbag system will deploy in the event of an accident.” Despite this disclosure, the fact that the airbags did not deploy in a crash severe enough to total the vehicle suggests a significant safety defect, potential misrepresentation, or a failure to comply with federal safety requirements. Airbag non-deployment in a total-loss collision indicates a system failure that poses a serious risk to consumers. VIN: [XXX] Owner: [XXX] Purchase Date: December 2022 I am filing an urgent safety complaint regarding my 2023 Kia Telluride. For nearly two years, I have unknowingly driven this vehicle with multiple active safety recalls, including: •Airbag wiring harness defect (airbags may not deploy) •Seatbelt pretensioner/tensioner defects •Front power seat motor overheating (fire hazard) •Drivesha
... ft engagement defect (vehicle may roll out of Park) Kia never properly notified me of these recalls and never repaired them, despite my family using the vehicle daily. I drove this SUV with my autistic child and infant grandchild, believing it was safe. I have now discovered that Kia allowed me to operate a vehicle that could: •Fail to protect us in a crash •Catch fire •Roll away unexpectedly •Malfunction in ways that could cause severe injury or death This is a serious safety negligence issue. Kia did not offer a loaner vehicle, did not notify me promptly, and has not provided any remedy despite these recalls being federally regulated. I am requesting NHTSA intervention to: 1.Investigate Kia’s failure to properly notify and protect consumers. 2.Require Kia to provide a full replacement vehicle (2025/2026 Kia Telluride) or a full buyback due to prolonged safety risk. 3.Ensure Kia corrects VIN-level recall handling and compliance failures. 4.Document that Kia exposed vulnerable passengers (disabled child and infant grandchild) to unsafe conditions for almost two years. While driving, my 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid suddenly experienced a multi-system failure affecting: Road Departure Mitigation System Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Hill Start Assist Electric Power Steering System Brake System (“Brake performance may be reduced”) All warnings appeared within seconds. The vehicle is available for inspection, and the incident
... is documented with multiple photographs. In addition to the system failures, the vehicle unexpectedly began to lose power while I was driving, causing it to slow down rapidly in active traffic. This created an extremely hazardous situation, including: Risk of being rear-ended since my vehicle slowed without warning Reduced steering assist Reduced braking performance Loss of stability control Inability to accelerate out of the way This combination could easily have caused a serious collision. I later learned that there is an active recall related to the systems that failed on my vehicle. However: I never received any communication from Honda, no letter, no email, no notice of any kind. I am extremely unhappy and frustrated about this. Had Honda informed me of the recall: I would have scheduled service immediately I would NOT have driven the car under normal conditions I would NOT have been exposed to this dangerous situation on the road The absence of recall notification directly contributed to my being put in a potentially life-threatening situation. A recall notification exists for a reason which is to prevent exactly the type of failure and danger that I experienced. Honda’s failure to notify me removed my ability to take preventative action. The issue has not yet been diagnosed or confirmed by a Honda dealer. I will be taking the vehicle in for inspection as soon as possible. No inspections have been conducted yet, but I have full photographic documentation from the moment the incident occurred. No prior warning lights, symptoms, or error messages occurred.Read more

2018 BMW K1600** To whom it may concern My name is [XXX] and I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2018 BMW K1600 motorcycle VIN [XXX] . My motorcycle has a serious and dangerous stability problem that happens at normal highway speeds. While riding at about sixty miles per hour and higher the motorcycle begins to wobble and feel unstable. The front end becomes light and the handlebars feel
... like they want to move on their own. The back of the motorcycle moves from side to side as if the rear is shifting under me. At times it feels like the bike is sliding or going out from underneath me even though the road is straight and smooth. This is a very unsafe feeling and it can happen at any time on the highway. This instability becomes worse when passing large trucks or riding in crosswind. The movement is not caused by rider input. The bike has correct tire pressure and has no suspension or frame modifications. This issue appears linked to the design or mechanical components of the motorcycle. The wobble is strong enough that it feels like a loss of control could happen without warning. This puts the rider at risk of a serious accident or injury. I am aware that similar complaints have been reported by many other BMW K1600 owners in these model years and that NHTSA has previously reviewed this issue. I respectfully request that NHTSA reopen and fully investigate this wobble and stability problem for the 2018 BMW K1600 motorcycle line and determine whether a recall or corrective action is needed to ensure rider safety. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. The front trunk (frunk) on my 2026 Tesla Model Y Juniper lacks both internal lighting and an emergency safety release mechanism. Without an internal release latch or glow-in-the-dark handle (standard in many vehicle trunks to prevent entrapment deaths), this could lead to a life-threatening suffocation or injury situation, especially if the frunk is accidentally closed on a person during loading/unloading. I discovered this issue while inspecting the frunk during routine cleaning and noticed that my four-year-old sat very comfortably inside the frunk listening to music while I cleaned the car. No incident has occurred yet, but the potential for harm is clear and warrants immediate investigation, as it violates basic entrapment-prevention standards observed in rear trunks and other vehicles. This defect compromises occupant safety and should be addressed through a recall or a retrofit that includes an illuminated emergency release. Please investigate similar complaints for this model year.Read more

When my son got a car last December, we bought him a 2024 Volvo s60, primarily for the safety features. Since we have had the vehicle, Volvo has had a lot of issues with their infotainment system. But sometimes it was the backup camera too and once the he
... at. He recently had a car accident. He is okay (of course shaken up) but it was a bad situation. A van had dropped a lot of items. Plumbing and metal shelving. There was a pick up who was trying to avoid it. My son tried to avoid the pick up unsuccessfully but partially because his wheels landed on metal shelving and he was sliding on the road. The accident report captured this. His car was totaled. The purpose of this email is that the car was totaled, as even though he was braking as hard as he could, his tire was sliding on that shelving so he did have quite a hard impact. Not one safety feature worked on this vehicle, not the SOS, not the forward, not the airbags. My intuition is telling me it's all related to these many issues with the electronics in this car (recharge models have had this issue and been recalled). Before they dispose of the vehicle I wanted to consult with an attorney to see if we have any recourse with Volvo, especially because safety is why we bought the car. It is currently at the body shop. The infotainment has had an issue forever.Read more

The engine/powertrain on my 2015 Hyundai Sonata (VIN: [XXX] ) has failed due to extremely low compression in all four cylinders, causing severe misfires, hard starting, loss of power, and intermittent rattling noises, and the vehicle is currently available for inspection at the Hyundai dealership. This failure created a safety risk because the engine hesitates, struggles to start, and can stall or

The problem has been confirmed by both an independent mechanic and the Hyundai dealership, who documented low compression across all cylinders. The vehicle has been fully inspected by the dealership on Hyundai’s behalf after I opened a case with the manufacturer. Prior to the complete failure, the car showed warning symptoms such as repeated cylinder 4 misfires, rough starting, reduced power, rattling noises on startup, and the check engine light appearing several times beginning earlier this year. The repeated cracking in the identical corner, including one with no impact, suggests a possible structural stress point, mounting issue, or overly thin/brittle OEM glass. I also found another NHTSA complaint from June 2024 reporting similar cracking on a 2025 Pilot. These repeated failures pose a visibility and safety risk on a new vehicle.Read more

The car suffered a critical electrical failure which resulted in the car abruptly losing power when driving at a speed of about 30 mph. The speed at which the car became unresponsive was so rapid that the car could not even be maneuvered from the middle lane into the right most lane for safety. The cars digital display system indicated nothing except that the hazards were on (after I had attempted
... to turn them on) and a red box with two cog wheels inside of it. In reality, the hazard lights were NOT on externally as was evidenced by a number of vehicles stopping to tell me to turn on my hazards. Additionally the car would not respond to any commands whatsoever. The car would not go in to park or drive and could not be powered on/off. The brake pedal was able to be pushed to the floor. The doors which have an electronic assist system were difficult to open because the whole electrical system was in a failure state. The car had to be towed to a Porsche dealership. Upon arrival to the dealership, the car indicated an engine control error on the digital dash and showed a turtle icon. This was not the case during the original failure (prior to tow) and only showed that state after a multi-hour tow trip. There were absolutely no indications of this problem prior to it happening. The car was at around 40% state-of-charge. Porsche performed a software update on the car and drove it 120 miles but could not recreate it. The very same day I took the car back from Porsche, the same issue occurred but in a less critical way and in a parking lot. This time, the car suffered an engine control error but after walking away from the car for 10 minutes or so, the error was gone and the car was drive-able. In both cases, one thing i noticed was that the rear spoiler was stuck in an extended state after the failure had occurred.Read more

My 2019 Toyota 4Runner is experiencing a faulty backup camera, the display shows a frozen or blank image when reversing, increasing the risk of a crash. The current Toyota backup camera recall includes 2020 and later models, however it does not include 2019 4runners. A faulty backup camera in a 2019 vehicle is as much a safety issue as a backup camera in a 2020 vehicle. The backup camera is curre
