I have a 2020 Lincoln Corsair with an active recall on the infotainment system. My screen freezes constantly, and I’m unable to complete system updates at all—it just spins or crashes & my rearview camera glitches out. This is a huge safety issue!!! This makes the vehicle difficult and unsafe to use, especially since it affects visibility and system controls. I understand a fix isn’t avai
... lable yet, but my system is essentially unusable. Since the system won’t update, I can’t even apply the future recall fix when it becomes available. This seems like a hardware failure related to the recall issue.Read more

On 03/13/2026, while driving my 2020 Tesla Model X at approximately 65 mph on a freeway, the front hood (frunk lid) suddenly flew open without warning and slammed into the windshield. The hood rotated upward violently and struck the windshield completely blocking the driver’s forward visibility. This created an immediate safety hazard while traveling at highway speed. Prior to the incident there
... were no warning messages or alerts displayed on the vehicle screen indicating that the hood was open or improperly latched. Tesla vehicles normally provide a dashboard and a sound alert if the hood is not properly latched before driving. No such warning occurred. The vehicle’s front camera recorded the incident. The video does not show any hood movement or flutter prior to the failure, suggesting that the hood was fully closed before the event. After the incident, Tesla service personnel inspected the vehicle. The technician stated that the hood may not have been properly latched prior to driving. However: The vehicle gave no dashboard warning No hood movement or vibration was visible prior to the event The hood opened suddenly and violently rather than gradually If the secondary latch alone had been holding the hood, some hood movement or vibration would normally be expected prior to full release. Safety Concern A hood opening at highway speed that: occurs without warning results in complete loss of forward visibility presents a severe safety risk to the driver and surrounding traffic. This type of failure could easily cause a high-speed crash. purchased a 2017 Toyota Camry from CarMax in Ontario, CA, with a $12,000 down payment. I chose this vehicle for its reliability and fuel efficiency. After the first week, I noticed poor gas mileage—only 17 mpg. CarMax checked it but found no issues. On September 25th, 2024, I purchased another 2017 Camry with 81,000 miles. After a short test drive, I noted squeaky brakes, a burned-out headlight,
... and a small windshield chip. CarMax replaced the bulb and promised to address the brakes and chip. However, a few months later, I saw the mileage increasing faster than I was driving, despite maintenance like oil changes, spark plugs, and tire replacements. I am now facing significant financial strain, as I relied on CarMax to provide a trustworthy, economical vehicle. This discrepancy in mileage is unlawful, and I trusted CarMax to deliver a car in good faith. I ask for immediate investigation and resolution to this matter."Read more

Currently in the 22-23 Tiguans they are experiencing an oil consumption issue. Where the engine is consuming oil at a fast rate. I am having to add oil to the car every 800-1000 miles. There’s several class action lawsuits against VW for this exact issue yet they refuse to fix the issue in our car even though it is still under warranty. In writing they told me it’s not consuming ENOUGH oil for
... VW to approve the repair and that it has to get worse before they will fix it. This problem CAN cause catastrophic failure to the engine. It can also cause the car to stall while driving putting myself and my family at risk. The service advisor admitted that the Tiguans are known oil burners, so much so that they now put in their manuals that burning 1qt of oil per 1000-1200 miles is within spec. It should not be burning oil at all! When I took it to VW bc the check engine light and low oil light was on they said they needed to perform an oil consumption test to see how much it was burning. Yet when I went to pick it up they said that I had to bring it back in exactly 630 miles to do the test. They wouldn’t say why they didn’t get it done that day which I thought was strange. I was unable to get back there at exactly 630 miles bc I work and they are in a different state. So I called to say hey I’m a little Over is that ok. They said no sorry ,we will have to do it at my next oil change. Which per VW is 10,000 miles or 1 year! They want me to wait up until one yr to test this? This is not acceptable! It is costing me money in extra oil every month , putting my family at risk, and putting the car at risk for catastrophic failure . Again, I have the proof in writing where they stated what I said above. As well as receipts and proof that I have taken it to VW for this issue yet they refuse to fix it.Read more

NHTSA COMPLAINT NARRATIVE — SAFERCAR.GOV Vehicle: 2024 Tesla Model Y Component/System: Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Software, Version 14.2.2.5 On March 14, 2026, at approximately 5:22 PM, a 2024 Tesla Model Y was traveling on U.S. Route 3 in Franconia, New Hampshire, at approximately 45 mph within the posted speed limit. The vehicle was operating with Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software v
... ersion 14.2.2.5 actively engaged. Three occupants were present in the vehicle, including two minor passengers. All occupants were properly restrained with seat belts. Component/System That Failed: The Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system, version 14.2.2.5, failed to safely detect and respond to a snow-covered road surface. The system lost control of the vehicle upon encountering a snow patch on the roadway, causing the vehicle to strike a tree. The FSD system is the primary failed component. The vehicle has been towed and is available for inspection upon request. How Safety Was Put at Risk: The FSD system was in active control of the vehicle's steering, braking, and acceleration at the time of the failure. The system provided no auditory alert, no visual warning, and no driver takeover request prior to the loss of control event. The failure occurred without any warning whatsoever, leaving insufficient time for the driver to intervene and prevent the collision, despite the driver actively supervising the system in full compliance with Tesla's own supervision requirements. Three occupants were placed in immediate risk of serious injury or death. The vehicle struck a tree and was totaled. Emergency services responded and evaluated all occupants on scene. An official police report was filed. Prior Warning Lamps, Messages, or Symptoms: None. The FSD system issued zero warnings — no auditory alerts, no visual prompts, no haptic feedback, and no takeover requests — at any point prior to or during the loss of control event. The system was operating normally by all displayed indicatoRead more

The vehicle developed an exhaust leak caused by both weld points on the front exhaust pipe breaking. A dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the exhaust welds had failed, creating a hole in the exhaust pipe and triggering a P0420 catalyst efficiency code. The failure occurred at approximately 31,500 miles. The exhaust leak caused increased exhaust noise and emissions warning codes.
... The dealership recommended replacement of the front exhaust pipe assembly. This appears similar to known failures on the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse platform where the front exhaust pipe mounting bracket separates from the pipe due to weld failure. GM has issued special coverage adjustments for similar exhaust pipe bracket weld failures on other model years of these vehicles. The failure occurred at relatively low mileage and appears to be a structural weld defect in the exhaust system.Read more

I realize that this is not made by Honda but it is sold by Honda and they should not be so negligent in dealing with these issues. On February 21, 2026, my 2022 Cadillac Escalade ESV experienced a sudden and complete engine seizure at highway speed at 57,825 miles just 8,613 miles after passing GM's PicoScope inspection under Safety Recall N252494000 (NHTSA Campaign 25V274). After fueling, I entered a highway on-ramp and accelerated to approximately 70 mph. Within 30 seconds, the engine lost power completely with no prior war
... ning lights, no diagnostic trouble codes, and no audible warning. The only dashboard notification was a prompt to press the Start button. The vehicle behaved as if shifted into neutral, decelerating rapidly from 70 mph to 40 mph while I was navigating an exit merge ramp. I reached the right shoulder safely. Under normal weekday traffic, this failure on an active merge ramp could have caused a serious collision. The engine would not restart. The vehicle would not shift out of Park. OnStar could not remotely start the vehicle. A tow truck was dispatched; the operator could not shift the vehicle to neutral and required a dolly. The dealership confirmed the engine had seized and the engine would not crank. A complete engine replacement was performed under the recall warranty (RO 606490). The recall remedy was performed August 20, 2025 at 49,212 miles. GM records confirm the PicoScope result: "Engine Passed." The engine seized 8,613 miles later with no warning. This is consistent with 30-plus NHTSA complaints reporting loss of propulsion after the prior remedy, and demonstrates the inspection-based remedy is insufficient to identify engines at imminent risk of seizure.Read more

I am reporting a safety concern involving BMW vehicles equipped with the B58 Technical Update (B58TU) engine, commonly found in model years 2019–2021. These vehicles utilize a variable-displacement engine oil pump containing an internal thermoplastic adjusting component responsible for regulating oil pressure. Field failures are increasingly being reported in which this internal component fract
... ures, resulting in sudden loss or instability of engine oil pressure. The failure frequently occurs during cold-start operation in low ambient temperatures. When the component fails, oil pressure regulation becomes erratic or is lost entirely. In many cases, drivers receive little or no actionable warning prior to engine damage or vehicle disablement. Reported precursor symptoms include inability to electronically measure engine oil level, abnormal oil pressure behavior, or sudden drivetrain malfunction warnings. Failures may rapidly progress to engine shutdown or severe mechanical damage caused by oil starvation. Loss of lubrication can cause the vehicle to become disabled without warning while driving or shortly after startup. This creates a safety hazard, particularly when vehicles become immobilized in active traffic or during winter conditions the cold is when they fail the most, where occupants may be exposed to freezing temperatures while awaiting assistance. As I waited for 4hr in -15c. Replacement of the oil pump requires extensive disassembly of the vehicle and repairs costed $8349 for just the pump, assuming the motor is unharmed. Owners are currently unable to determine whether their vehicles contain the original thermoplastic oil pump design or a later revised version utilizing metal internal components, as VIN-based parts information now identifies updated components in the car even when no replacement has occurred and the old components are actually in the car. Also, BMW has actively removed the plastic part number out of all dealer networks as well.Read more

My 2024 Honda Prologue produces a rhythmic clicking and rattling noise from the front axle area whenever I make low‑speed left or right turns. The sound is tied to wheel rotation and is most noticeable during sharper turns such as entering or exiting a parking space. The noise is reproducible on every drive and began early in the vehicle’s life. It appears consistent with the widely reported f
... ront CV joint/axle defect affecting other Prologue owners, many of whom describe the same clicking or ratcheting noise during turns. Honda has issued internal guidance acknowledging this symptom and advising dealers that the issue is under investigation. Because this involves the front drive axle/CV joint assembly, there is concern about premature wear or potential failure of a critical steering and drivetrain component, which could pose a safety risk if the condition worsens.
