CONSTITUENT WRITES REGARDING VEHICLE STALLING ON THEIR 2022 LINCOLN AVIATOR. This is brand new vehicle with 3,000+ miles on it. The first day owned it, around 12-21, the vehicle would not go into drive. A warning message appeared that said 'high-voltage battery warning", "The hybrid powertrain system has detected a fault". It would also flash "Full Accessory Power Active". After some internet sea
... rches I found a thread in ford that said "let the car sit for 20mins and it will restart". https://www.mustangecoboost.net/threads/i-think-i-figure-out-how-to-fix-the-full-accessory-power-active.22706/#:~:text=It%20means%20you%20have%20full,press%20the%20start%20button%20again. I did that and vehicle restarted. I made an appt with my local Lincoln dealer, Bill Collins Lincoln, and they inspected the car on 1-18 thru 1-21. They did not find anything wrong with it but did find the codes. They stated they thought the battery was dead. This was impossible due to the fact I drove the car 500 miles from Alabama to KY on 12-21. Today, 2-2-22, my wife was driving home from work and the car shut off on the interstate. When I say shut off, I mean it died at 65mph. She tried to press the accelerator and the car just continued to de-accelerate. The check engine light popped up and said "Stop Safely Now". Luckily, my wife was able pull off the interstate without causing an accident. Once stopped, she turned the vehicle off and tried to restarted it. It popped the same message about "full accessory power" and the car wouldn't start. She tried the push button start to no avail, tried the remote start to no avail. Finally she used her "phone as a key" and it started. She was able to drive home. I have called Lincoln and made them aware of the issues. They have asked for me to bring the car in immediately. I informed them I would be filing a complaint here as well. This car is a $85,000 death trap. Lincoln needs to take this very seriously and an investigation needs to open to find out why this vehicle is behaving like this. It is nRead more

When in park, vehicle fails to stay parked in some instances. For example, SUV has rolled forward (while in park): when parking on an incline or while unloading items from trunk, resting against bumper caused it to roll ahead and hit closed garage door in the garage, or when leaning on the SUV body outside vehicle it can disengage from park and start moving while shifter stays in P position. They found no recognizable problem, stating vehicle might not have been in park to begin with. No parts were removed; only a visual & functional assessment. Paid an inspection bill with no resolution to safety concern. However, it re-occurred on 4/2/22. Because the concern is intermittent and cannot be replicated on demand it’s harder to predict when SUV will move. Using the emergency parking break as a safety back-up for now. Vehicle is available for further inspection. To date, no major damage caused. Yet, forgetting the manual break could result in a terrible situation at any time. All instances of rolling away have occurred after driver exited the vehicle. Level parking surfaces are not always available. Probably unrelated to the safety issue, there are strange electric bugs. Radio will turn on randomly while driving; tailgate will open on its own when SUV is parked. However, no warning messages have displayed for any of the safety or electrical issues described.Read more

... having this issue and the fix for it is to put your vehicle into reverse going 20mph and to slam on the brakes several times until the brakes become firm. Apparently there must be an issue with the ABS/HCU having a valve stick. Have seen Ford and Lincoln recall older cars up to 2010 in the past few years for DOT 3 causing corrosion to cause valve in HCU to stick. Remedy had dealer flush DOT 3 brake fluid and put DOT 4 and change HCU and master cylinder cap to say DOT 4 fluid. No recalls for my 2014 but I believe this is definitely a safety issue that should be addressed. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EqIkUE46KvkRead more

Vehicle (SUV) floor board and truck had standing water from unknown source. Suspect rear hatch and/or glass roof design allows for environmental contamination to enter. Concern: If water in the vehicle is undetected and is allowed to pool fo

Standing water can develop mold, impacting air quality through long term and repeated exposure. Impact of vehicle occupants health. (In our instance, Mom & newborn) 3. Accelerated corrosion of vehicle internal structure. For example, seat fasteners. Item was discovered by third party service center and dealership is investigating root cause now. Dealer commented this is a problem more common with other models in the same family but not the model of this vehicle. No warning or indicator of the problem was present.Read more

Our Lincoln MKX had a failure of its power brake booster showing no warning indicator light on the dashboard. It was found that our Power Brake Booster & Brake Master Cylinder needed to be replaced. We are the 2nd Owners of this Vehicle & we learned that there was an a Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02 - Supplement #1 for certain 2010-2013 Model Year MKX (& Edge) Vehicles that had an Extended Warranty Coverage on Brake Boosters. Our car VIN # falls in the timeframe of this. Moreover, when the Vehicle was purchased from the Ford/Lincoln Dealership, it had 33,341 miles on it & it now only has 51,920. The Customer Satisfaction Program repairs the issue with the power brake booster at no cost within 10 years & on cars up to 150,000 miles. We had to pay out of pocket for our repair & need assistance in getting reimbursement for this expense. This unsafe occurrence also lead to having to replace a Stop Lamp Switch on 02/4/22 which failed & we were charged again (in less than a month's time) for another switch. It was also found on that repair that the booster mount on the inside under the dashboard was not tight & it had a stripped fastener. Now it is being recommended that a removal of the brake booster & master cylinder be inspected for proper installation and that a cut-out of that stripped fastener be done. Access to this requires removal of the instrument panel & steering column to access the firewall to get to the fastener. Invoices related to all this are attached for review except for the last noted recommendations.Read more

In regards to my brand new 2021 Lincoln Aviator Reserve (4181 miles): 2.23.22- Driving home on a very narrow, winding road when my car unexpectedly started to vibrate/shake. There were no alerts and no warning lights that came on. Fortunately, I was coming up on one of the very few turnouts available. As I started to pull over the car completely shut off (completely died). Luckily, I made it off
... of the road or I would have been stuck in the middle of the road on a blind corner as the car would not restart. It just kept displaying "Full Accessory Power Active" but would not do anything. The car was towed back to the dealership who informed me the next day that the engine had completely seized and they would have to replace the engine. One of the piston rods was bent to a 90 degree angle. I got it back on a Saturday afternoon(3.12.22), drove home from work, took my kids to/from school Monday, then drove to work Tuesday morning. On my way to work (which is only 3 miles from home) my car started to vibrate again but I was able to turn off the highway onto a side road and the vibrating stopped. Thankfully, it did not die in the middle of the highway and cause an accident. I continued on down the street and again the vibrating started. As I pulled up to a stop sign the car completely died and would not start. I waited a few moments and tried again and it started. I was able to make it the last less than quarter of a mile to work while it vibrated then died yet again as I pulled into my parking spot. My fiancé came later in the day and started the car. It was making a loud knocking noise so we shut if off and called dealer again. It was towed back for another new engine. As of today, they are still working on "repairing" the brand new death trap. Lincoln doesn't seem to think it's a big deal and thinks the second new engine will fix the issue. Hopefully it doesn't kill me first. This is worth investigating. Like I said, this car is a death trap.Read more
