I was driving the car from home to work during morning rush hour in downtown Chicago. I was stopped at a red light and the auto-stop feature engaged as it is intended to do. I finally put my emergency flashers on, shifted the car to park, pressed the ignition button to turn the car to off position, then depressed the brake pedal and the ignition button to turn the car on again, then shifted to drive and the car then moved forward as normal. No warning lamps have ever appeared re this. I immediately contacted my dealer to report this problem & soon after took the car there, where they confirmed this malfunction & communicated with GM Tech Line to try to resolve the problem while I sat at dealer all day but at end of day there was no resolution & they had no loaner car to give me & I needed the car so I left with it but thereafter always drove it only w/auto-stop feature turned off as I feared if it happened again I could be rear-ended. Dealer has now had my car for a week trying to ascertain how to fix this but because they say this feature is now not acting up they don't know how to fix it & they say GM Tech Line isn't giving them advice on how to resolve it. I cannot leave my car w/dealer indefinitely so now am forced to drive the car in this condition & need to always try to remember to turn off the auto-stop feature (or risk driving it in unsafe condition), which is not the right solution for a brand new car that had less than 2,000 miles on it when this started. They cannot do 7500 mile oil change as they have to remove the engine and they want to wait to do oil so its not wasted when they have to rip engine out. When I told my dealership they couldn’t find the issue so I asked while I was here in Florida and I was told Chrysler Corporation knows of this 2nd & 3rd Issue but isn’t doing a Recall on this issue and I was told it’s happening to quite a few models not just the Jeep Renegade but others. Now I don’t drive it long distances only locally as I don’t want to get killed by this vehicle. All 3 issues scare me greatly, First the loud bang, Second All the WARNING LIGHTS and then the vehicle shutting down for no reasons and Not Restarting also Not allowing you to Bypass the Auto Start/Stop function like it’s Designed. Almost initiating being hit from the rear by a tractor trailer and just making it off of the shoulder to safety. This may be the result of service bulletins 22-2145 or SSM 50529. The dealer has stated they cannot reproduce the problems but are aware of the issues and Service Bulletins have been released. No warning lamps have come on when these issues have occurred. Vehicle has been into dealership multiple times. Service Managers had said they are working with Lincoln Engineers to remedy the problem. So far a separator plate and a valve has been replaced, which has not resolved the problem This happens intermittently, but when it does it causes what could be a severe safety issue. There are no warning as to when the issue happens. It is intermittent and seems to have a hard time figuring out what gear the transmission should be in based on the speed of travel. This is a HUGE safety issue as I can be driving a high rate of speed and it downshifts without warning or I can be at a stop light and lose all power to the transmission and the vehicle will not move. Only the rpm’s will increase but the vehicle does not seem to have power from the power train system. It has been taken to Ford several months ago. They diagnosed the issue. There was a recall for this exact issue for models 2010-2013. My vehicle was 1 month out of recall. This is an issue seeing as it is the same exact problem the previous models are having but the recall only extended to models up to 2013. ABS hydraulic control unit has went out with 6000 miles. It’s a known issue to ram back order of part is 6 months. There are lawsuits over this issue. Why can’t we have ram fix this safety issue. Does it take people getting killed to make this a recall?

I received a warning light and checked with my OBDII reader that the Diesel Exhaust Fluid transfer pump had a implausible reading and was not working. This is a key part of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, part of the emissions control system, and will make the vehicle fault to the point where it will lock the car from being driven (no start condition).
