My 2022 Volkswagen Jetta (purchased new) has a recurring Travel Assist/Adaptive Cruise Control safety malfunction that has existed since before approximately 24,000 miles. While driving with Adaptive Cruise Control or Travel Assist engaged, the vehicle repeatedly warns me to "Take Control of the Vehicle" or indicates my hands are not on the steering wheel even though both hands are firmly on the w
... heel. I often have to immediately tighten my grip to prevent the system from escalating. On numerous occasions, the vehicle has also applied the brakes unexpectedly at highway speeds when there was no apparent hazard in front of the vehicle. These unexpected braking events create a serious safety concern, especially in traffic. I drive between [XXX] and [XXX] approximately twice each month. During a typical one-way trip, the steering wheel recognition warnings may occur a dozen or more times while using Travel Assist or Adaptive Cruise Control. Unexpected braking has occurred repeatedly over the course of ownership. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Volkswagen dealer multiple times for this same issue. Volkswagen has replaced the steering wheel multiple times, updated software, opened a Technical Assistance Center (TAC) case, and at least one technician duplicated the concern during a test drive. Despite these repeated repair attempts, the problem continues. I am reporting this because I believe the recurring Travel Assist failures and unexpected braking present an ongoing motor vehicle safety defect. Below it asks for the approximate date the incident occurred. It started approximately in XXX but it happens all of the time still. I made an initial post on 06/18/2026 so please reference that as well as this. I have not been able to drive the car since it died on me on the 18th of June. The car has been looked at a few times (actually stalling a third time while idling but was able to turn back on.) It has also displayed symptoms associated with the Ford Recall #26S40 / NHTSA recall #26V369 but it is listed at NOT included i

It is also putting out an inaccurate fuel level for miles driven. The fuel tank itself is misshapen (concave bottom of the fuel tank). Again, reiterating here that it stopped twice while driving within 2 days on major PA highways/interstates and stalled for a third time while in idle mode as described earlier in this post. This has all happened within 28 miles of the TCM being replaced.Read more

When driving, the rear passenger interior trim cup holder heats up to an unsafe temperature. The vehicle was in the shop for 4 weeks and I was told this is normal and it was because of radiant heat from the axel/wheel well. After driving approximately 100 miles, I used a temperature gun to screen the area. The hotspot was 126 degrees, with temperatures around in ranging from 77-85 degrees.
... Outside wheel well temperatures ranged from 94 - 97 degrees. the driver side rear trim area was also checked for comparison and ranged from 78-82 degrees. which would indicate it is not radiant heat from the wheel well and axel. Children sit in the 3rd row next to this and can be burned. No warning lights are present, vehicle can be inspected if required.Read more

Good Afternoon. The Pro Power Onboard high-voltage electrical system has experienced a permanent malfunction, locking out with a "Ground Fault Detected" warning. The vehicle is a 2021 Ford F-150 Rocky Ridge conversion. However, due to the increased travel and ride height of the official Rocky Ridge suspension lift, the wiring harness pulled out of its factory retaining side clip. This caused excessive tension and stretching on the high-voltage lines, completely exposing the bare interior colored wires and leaving them vulnerable to road moisture and friction against the metal frame. The system now triggers a permanent short-to-ground error, creating an imminent risk of an electrical short circuit or vehicle fire under the high-voltage (120V/240V) lines. I own a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse RS, VIN [XXX]. This vehicle has repeated safety-related failures involving the engine/cooling system, fuel-injector/misfire system, steering-assist warning system, and electronic parking brake system. The vehicle is currently at AutoNation Chevrolet West Austin, dropped off on XXX, and is available for inspection. Soon after delivery, the vehicle began losing coolan
... t and overheating. This was not isolated. Before the engine was finally replaced, there were at least four documented coolant/overheating-related dealer visits or repair notes: XXX. The problem repeated again on XXX, becoming the fifth coolant/overheating-related visit and resulting in GM/dealer-authorized engine replacement after internal coolant-related findings. Dealer records show low/empty coolant reservoir, overheating, fan-running symptoms, almost one gallon of coolant added, no external leak found, coolant dye added, GM TAC involvement, and internal coolant findings. After engine replacement, the vehicle continued to fail. In February 2026, it displayed check-engine light and “Steering Assist Reduced / Power Steering Reduced.” The dealer confirmed misfire and replaced cylinder 1 fuel injector. In April/May 2026, the vehicle displayed a service parking brake warning; the dealer documented left rear parking brake actuator high current. Now, on XXX, the vehicle is again at the dealer for blinking check-engine light, and the dealer advised the code shows another engine misfire. My family’s safety is at risk. Repeated overheating, engine replacement, steering-assist warning, parking brake warning, and recurring misfire create unsafe drivability risk, especially on highways, merging, intersections, or long trips. Component(s) Affected: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION: SWITCH, EXTERIOR LIGHTING: BRAKE LIGHTS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT PANEL Summary: When the interior cabin or ambient temperature becomes hot, a critical ignition/electrical failure occurs. The dashboard displays error: "Ignition has switched, please safely stop the vehicle." Immediately following, a total electrical shutdown occurs: the inst
... rument cluster goes black, and all external signaling—including the brake lights and turn signals—stops operating. While mechanical engine propulsion is maintained, the driver is left with zero visibility of vehicle metrics and zero exterior signaling to warn trailing traffic. When restarting, the vehicle fails to crank on the first attempt and displays: "Check the starter system." The vehicle functions normally once the cabin cools down or during cold weather. Safety Risk & Consequences: This defect poses an immediate and severe crash hazard. Operating a moving vehicle without functioning brake lights or turn signals deprives surrounding motorists of critical indicators, drastically increasing the risk of a rear-end collision. Additionally, a complete loss of the instrument cluster impairs the driver’s awareness of vehicle speed and critical safety alerts. Diagnostic & Context: An independent certified mechanic diagnosed the issue as a failure of the ignition switch electrical component (not the mechanical tumbler). Thermal expansion causes the electrical contacts to fail, triggering the systemic shutdown. The mechanic noted this part is on a severe nationwide backorder, indicating widespread failure. A known safety recall exists for the VW Jetta for an identical thermal ignition switch failure; however, the VW Tiguan—which utilizes the exact same turn-key ignition switch part—is not included. Multiple online automotive forums document identical hot-weather electrical failures among other Tiguan owners, proving this is a systemic hazard that warrants a safety recall.Read more

I own a 2010 Ford Escape, VIN [XXX]. Last year in 2025, my power steering went out. I found out it was from a safety recall. I took it to the Ford dealership in Sandusky, MI. They told me it wasn't a safety recall and they would not cover it. I have been searching online for a YEAR, and I finally found where that certain safety recall was only repaired by computer update, NOT by checking the actu
... al steering column, via the previous owners. I want the steering column looked at and for free. We could have died if it had failed in a turn. The escape is sitting in my garage with NO POWERSTEERING AT ALL and no one can drive it. This is a safety risk because without power-steering I cannot turn or drive my vehicle at all. I want this repaired as soon as possible, for free. There were no messages or failures, it just stopped working. Ford is telling me that they won't fix it because it has already been repaired and it is not in their computer system. I know this is BS because if it was fixed, why is it failed now? I also learned that they did a "system update" to prevent failure of the steering column and I guess mine didn't get one. I am not a happy customer and I will NEVER buy a ford again if this is not repaired. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

If a representative can confirm the problem retrospectivly, I think the representatives making changes to the service plan should also be able to proactively confirm incompatibility before causing the issue. There were no warnings. The issues first occured while I was driving on the day (6/25/26) my new plan began and the update was sent. I can make the HMI available for inspection upon request. I don't believe there is any actual issue with the hardware, just a negligent and incompatible software update.Read more

I purchased a 2025 EX90 on XXX. Immediately upon purchase, nearly every time my [XXX] daughter was riding in the middle seat using the integrated booster, the car would alert me that someone was sitting in the other two seats on either side of her. There were also occasions when only one seat alarm would go off. I checked her positioning to confirm that there was nothing on those seats. I took it
... into the dealership the following Monday. They did a software update, which they stated would resolve the issue. I picked up the car on the evening of XXX. For the next couple of days, it appeared that the issue had been resolved; however, it returned within a couple of days. Additionally, there were two instances, after receiving the car back from being repaired the first time, in which my daughter was riding with me, and her seatbelt failed to engage during rapid deceleration. I was driving on a main arterial street near our home, traveling approximately 35-40 mph. I was using single-pedal mode (EV) and took my foot off the gas pedal to prevent a crash. The car stopped very quickly, and she was thrown forward, nearly missing hitting her head on the back of the passenger seat. Subsequently, while driving the same minor child in a dealership loaner XC90, we experienced a routine quick stop at a very slow speed, and she immediately noted that the XC90 seatbelt was properly tightened. This side-by-side comparison confirms that the EX90's occupant restraint system failed to deploy during a near-crash event. I returned the vehicle on XXX, and the card has been there since. On XXX, Volvo Corporate Engineering reviewed the data and confirmed a diagnosis of faulty radar sensors in the second row. Because the EX90's computer-controlled safety belts rely on these second-row sensors to work properly, this diagnosis from Volvo proves the safety systems in my daughter's row were actively broken during our near-miss collision event. The second time at a different dealer, they didn't do a diagnostic but said it did not matter because the codes need to be active. No where is any documentation does it say the codes need to be active. They are stored in history and Freeze frame data. It is impossible for me to get the car there with the illuminated dash and "active" codes because when it happens, I cannot steer the car and when I shut if off they go away. Plus when I get to the dealer, they will tell me they cannot take me and to make an appointment. I am now working with KIA escalation department but she informed me today that she did not have the authority to authorize a dealer to repair the car. When I asked who does she said I need a techline which is opened by the dealership. WHAT??? This all started with the dealer. The car is now having glitches with the steering while driving. IT IS DANGEROUS AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I have no idea when the steering might go out. I need help in getting a Kia dealership to fix the issue under the extended warranty they sent me in 2022. I am so sick of the run around and brush off. How do I get this accomplished?Read more

I started my vehicle and thr complete infotainment screen was black, no display, no backup camera, nothing but a black screen. The volume button still worked and you could touch the screen and her things change but you could not see anything because the screen was black. It is like turning the brightness completely off a touchscreen, it works but you can't see anything. There are current recalls f

I was on the highway and I hit the Cruise Control to engage “smart adaptive cruise control.” I received a warning light that said “Conditions for smart cruise control not met.” The car immediately began to decelerate. I could see that the light for the cruise control was still on. I hit the cruise control button again to turn it off- and it kept giving the same warning again and again (not

I immediately put on my hazards and made my way to the shoulder where I stopped the car, restarted it, and was able to resume driving normally without incidence. I am not using cruise control anymore until this is resolved.Read more

I bought this 2014 ford expedition. I didn't know at the time the Triton 5.4 had a transmission Lead Frame defect. I asked them to cover it under NHTSA 26V237 but they refused because they dsaid it wasn't part of the recall although this vehicle shares the same exact components. I also asked them to cover it under Safety Recall 26S28. I ended up having to pay $1842.00 to get this fixed.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Expedition. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 26V344000 (Seat Belts), 26V368000 (Structure), 26V402000 (Power Train); however, the parts for the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the tra
... nsmission started slipping. After releasing the accelerator pedal and slowing down, the engine made a revving sound, and the transmission failure was self-corrected and shifted to the proper gear. While starting the vehicle or while driving at various speeds, the transmission hesitated shifting into the intended gear. There was an unknown warning light flashing on the instrument panel. The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle in March of 2026, the Carfax report stated that the transmission had been replaced, and the contact purchased the vehicle under the belief that the vehicle was equipped with a new transmission. In May, the vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the valve body had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact emailed the dealer about the diagnostic results and the needed repair. The dealer confirmed the failure. The dealer replaced the valve body, but the failure persisted. The dealer then diagnosed in June that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,467.Read more

I was driving down the highway and the front Upper Grille Deflector flew off while at highway speeds. Due to the nature of being on a highly congested bridge, the grill piece flying off could've seriously injured not only myself, but other motorist around me. There is currently a GM recall (N242490120) out however, it only affects the 2022 model trucks. This makes no sense as this issue has been r
... eported via threads and discussions on the internet for 2023 year models like mine numerous times. This is a serious issue and should be recalled just like the 2022 models. Not only am I now paying for a manufactuer defect out of pocket, but who's to say that the "new" part doesn't do the same thing and either I or another motorist is seriously injured or worse...killed.Read more

While my 2025 Kia K5 was parked in the driveway, the front driver-side original-equipment Pirelli P Zero All Season tire suddenly blew out. I had just parked and walked inside when we heard a loud pop. There was no impact, no curb strike, and no driving event - the vehicle was stationary when the tire failed. The vehicle had approximately 16,500 miles. This is part of an apparent pattern: my son
... purchased an identical 2025 Kia K5 on the same day from the same dealer. At about 22,000 miles, his front driver-side tire developed a sidewall bulge, and all four of his original-equipment Pirelli tires show rapid, uneven wear. Two identical vehicles, bought together, both experienced failure of the same tire position (front driver-side) - his bulging, mine blowing out - which strongly suggests a defect in the original-equipment tires and/or a vehicle alignment/suspension condition causing abnormal wear and failure. No crash, injury, or fire resulted because the vehicle was parked. However, a sudden tire failure of this kind at highway speed would create a serious risk of a blowout, loss of control, and crash. The failed tire is available for inspection upon request. I am filing this complaint to document the failure and the pattern across two identical vehicles.Read more

The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system falsely engages under normal driving conditions when no obstacles, vehicles, or other hazards are present. These false activations occurred at very low speeds, while stopped, while parking, and while the vehicle is in neutral. When this happens, the vehicle brakes abruptly, shifts itself into park, and shuts off entirely. This is not normal system opera
... tion and creates a significant safety concern because the vehicle has stopped abruptly and disabled itself unexpectedly on numerous occasions while moving. While my vehicle was in neutral and moving through an automatic car wash on a track, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system malfunctioned. My vehicle shifted itself into park and shut down. This sudden engagement caused the vehicle behind me to collide with the rear of my vehicle. As a result, the driver of the following vehicle has filed a collision claim against my insurance policy. My vehicle has been taken to the dealership 6 times for this AEB-related issue, along with other ongoing concerns, on the following dates: 09/11/25, 10/07/25, 11/12/25, 01/19/26, 03/09/26, and as of 6/05/26 is back at the dealership. The vehicle will unexpectedly shift out of gear at low speeds, requiring me to stop and place it back into gear before I can continue driving. The vehicle is currently at the dealership as of 06/05/26. Despite several repair attempts, the problems have not been resolved. I am extremely concerned that the AEB system will continue to malfunction causing a more serious collision and injury. The dealership was able to reproduce the problem in September; however, they have not been able to reproduce it again since that time. I have attempted to document each malfunction, including photos of the failure messages. I can provide additional information (receipts, video from accident, photos etc.).Read more
