Driving down interstate, mid-morning, and my front sunroof imploded. VERY loud, like a bomb or gunshot. Shattered glass everywhere, all over myself and my car. Was the absolute worst sound.

My vehicle constantly slows down and occasionally even slams on the brakes to slow down for nonexistent obstacles. A message appeared on the dashboard indicating a "Critical Electrical Failure" and "Park Safely" when I turned the key to start the car. This car is a plug-in e-hybrid (my 3rd of this model) and I always assumed that in case of a major failure, I could either use the engine or the electric propulsion system. This was not the case. Although the instruments had power the transmission could not be
... moved from park and the steering was inoperative. The vehicle was totally immobilized. And the advice to "Park Safely" is ridiculous because there was no way to move the vehicle. Fortunately I was parked when this occurred. But if I was at a traffic light or this happened while I was underway, the safety implications are frightening. The vehicle would have been an immovable obstacle on the roadway. Plus there is not any kind of emergency "neutral" release so the vehicle could at least be pushed. The flatbed tow truck sent by Porsche Connect had to drag the vehicle on to its bed. And if I had not been in a nose in space as I was, even towing would have been nearly impossible.Read more

UNCONTROLLED RELEASE OF FUEL FROM TANK THRU TANK BREATHER SYSTEM WHEN MOTORCYCLE IS ON IT'S SIDE ON GROUND. DESIGN FLAW -- REDESIGN REQUIRED -- 2022 KLR 650 RELEASES FUEL FROM THE TANK BREATHER SYSTEM IN EVENT OF INTENTIONAL OR ACCIDENTAL MOTO BECOMING HORIZONTAL TO GROUND WITH NO MEANS OF FUEL SHUTOFF AVAILABLE EXCEPT BY TANK DRAINING TO LEVEL OF BREATHER WITHIN THE TANK. OCCURRENCE HAPPENS WITH

ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE AND SAFETY TO PROPERTY, LIFE, AND LIMB, UP TO AND INCLUDING DEATH, CAN OCCUR FROM FUEL CONTAMINATION OR FUEL IGNITION CAUSING BURN RELATED INJURIES/DEATH/DAMAGE, OR FUEL CONTACT COMPLICATIONS. THIS OPERATIONAL SCENARIO IS INHERENT IN THE DESIGN OF THE FUEL SYSTEM, AND IS CONFIRMED BY A DOCUMENTED TRANSCRIPT OF CHAT SESSION WITH KAWASAKI SUPPORT ON 7/24/2023 (ATTACHED). IT IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS TO A PINNED/INJURED OPERATOR OF THE MOTO THAT CANNOT REMOVE THEMSELVES FROM THE PROXIMITY. IT IS ALSO HIGHLY PROBABLE FOR THIS TYPE OF MOTO THAT IS USED IN OFF-ROAD REMOTE OPERATION WHERE SITUATIONS FOR LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE MOTO ARE ENCOUNTERED FREQUENTLY. INCIDENT OF UNCONTROLLED FUEL LOSS WAS FIRST EXPERIENCED 7/4/2023 WHEN THIS VIN MOTO ACCIDENTALLY FELL TO THE GROUND ON IT'S RIGHT SIDE WHILE STOPPED AND "OFF". While driving on I-95 near Colonial Heights, VA we heard a loud BOOM - thought it was a tire although I continued to maintain control of car. Saw in rearview mirror, a small shingle-size piece of material fly off top of our 2017 Honda CRV, toward car behind us. Stopped & saw that our sunroof had literally BLOWN APART. The "shingle-size" material was the middle of our sunroof blowing off. Fortunate
... ly we had just closed our interior sunshade & fortunately the car behind us did not look to be affected by the airborne sunroof material. There was no truck in front of us (no flying debris from another car) & nothing fell on the top of the car! Had we not had the sunshade closed, 1000's of pieces of glass would've rained down on us, possibly causing me to lose control of the vehicle & quite certainly causing an accident w/those around me. Fortunately we were 1.5 miles from an exit & a Honda dealership (!) that assisted us in attaching Crash Wrap to the top of the car so we could continue on our way home to FL - but not without stopping 4 add'l times & also using packing tape to keep the crash tape on the car (due to rain). Broken glass continued to "rain" down onto the sunshade for the next 700 miles - we also feared the crash tape would come off and whip back at another vehicle. I've documented incident w/pictures, contacted my Insurance Company, American Honda Corp, Holler Honda (local dealer) & am scheduled to have the sunroof replaced in the next week. Am. Honda Corp customer svc was unaware of any "exploding sunroof issues", nor was my local Honda dealer. However, the Svc Advisor @ Honda in VA had actually seen 3 exploded sunroofs since May! After some investigation on my part, I found an active court case of Honda/Acura owners who have also experienced exploding sunroofs. There was absolutely NO warning that predicated this incident. This incident could've had a vastly different outcome had my interior shade remained open.Read more

This is a serious issue and I couldn’t believe that nothing had been done to create a recall, especially after finding a report about the same issue with the same vehicle online from October 2019 (almost FOUR years ago) by [XXX] , stating that the government was researching this issue after several people were injured. Apparently this is a safety feature that is built to prevent whiplash in an accident, but is activating without provocation in many vehicles, if it’s not offsetting whiplash, could this not CAUSE whiplash?! This needs to be addressed as a recall and fixed for others before it causes a serious car accident (if it hasn’t already) or kills someone. This is completely unacceptable. Subject: Safety Concerns with Subaru Solterra - Urgent Attention Required I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the safety issues I am experiencing with my newly purchased Subaru Solterra 2023 Touring. Despite my enthusiasm for the vehicle, the problems outlined below have caused me considerable distress and are posing significant risks to both
... myself and my beloved pet. Safety Issue 1: Bluetooth Connectivity and Remote Climate Control The Bluetooth connectivity features in the vehicle, including driver detection, load profile, locking/unlocking, and remote climate control, are currently non-functional. The dealership has acknowledged this issue but has been unable to provide an estimated timeframe for a fix. This problem alone presents multiple safety concerns: 1.1. Risk to My Pet's Safety: I frequently leave my pet in the car during extreme weather conditions to ensure their safety. The inability to operate the remote climate control due to the connectivity issue can lead to a life-threatening situation for my pet, as the car automatically shuts off after 20 minutes. 1.2. Inability to Lock the Car: Additionally, the inability to lock the car from the app exacerbates the safety risks, as it compromises the security of both my pet and the vehicle's contents when I am away. Safety Issue 2: Discrepancy in Mileage Reporting The mileage displayed on the Subaru Connect App and the car itself shows a significant discrepancy. While the app indicates a range of 240 miles on a full charge, the car's display only shows 179 miles. This disparity is not only disconcerting but also raises serious safety concerns: 2.1. Uncertain Range Reliability: As an electric vehicle owner, knowing the accurate range is crucial for planning my journeys. The discrepancy between the app and the car's display leaves me unsure of the actual remaining range, potentially leading to battery depletion and a complete shutdown while operating.Read more
