During the 1st 20 min or so of operation the truck tries to "high idle" when in gear. This forces the operator use excessive brake pressure to keep the vehicle stopped. There have been several times my leg gets tired of holding the brake pedal down so hard the truck will creep forward unintentionally. The brakes grunt due to excessive force trying to keep the truck stopped. The dealer blows it of
... f as normal, saying the truck is doing what its supposed to. I don't think the truck should be allowed to high idle in gear. I am afraid that I am going to accidently roll forward and hit someone. I have driven other 3/4 ton trucks and the ford 7.3 engine this is the only one that does this. I called ford and they said there is nothing to do if the dealership says the truck is operating properly.Read more

The transmission went out, when going out it causes the vehicle to jerk while at a high speed of 60mph and then after the jerking it stops in the highest gear almost causing a wreck and this all suddenly happens on an interstate.
Incident date: Jan 13, 2024
While attempting to merge into 70mph traffic on the interstate, the vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration capabilities. I could have been in an accident due to the sudden loss of acceleration and eventual power to the engine. When I pressed on the gas pedal, there was no resistance and the pedal went all the way to the floor. The vehicle slowly accelerated on it's own from 20MPH to 55MPH witho
... ut my pressing the accelerator. There were no warnings on the dash at this time. Once it reached 55MPH, it slowly began to decrease it's speed without my pressing the brake or accelerator. As it started decreasing in speed, a warning popped up "Check Hybrid system, Stop safely". At this time, the battery level showed 0 bars though it showed half full (8 bars before this happened). I got over to the side of the highway and continued coasting until the vehicle slowed itself to a complete stop at which point the car put itself in Park and engaged the Emergency Brake and the dash displayed "Parking brake automatically engaged" and the Engine Oil Pressure Warning light came on. I attempted to put the car back in Drive and the dash displayed "Shifting conditions not met". I turned the car off, let it sit a few minutes and restarted it. When I restarted it, the battery showed 0 bars and the display said "Park with engine On to charge battery". I put it in Drive and I was able to drive without any issues. The battery level went back up 6 bars in less than a minute and I drove it to the dealership. This was the 2nd time this happened. The same exact thing happened the first time and when I took it to the dealership they couldn't replicate the issue and there were no codes recorded. First incident was on 1/12/24. I immediately pulled over, put it in park and turned the vehicle off. It worked fine after restarting it. Second incident was on 1/25/24. All 3 welds that hold the drivers front door check arm failed over the course of a day. When travelling with the car I observed some strange creaking/cracking sounds when opening or closing the door, and within a day I found that the door was difficult to close and latch. I looked at the hinges, and notices 3 holes where the welds were, and the check arm moving inside the door. The safety iss
... ue is its difficult/impossible to close and latch the door, and difficult to make sure the door is actually latched and stays latched. The door has opened while driving, and I'm not sure if this is due to not being able to close it all the way or of the loose check arm is breaking other parts inside the door. The power window no longer works because the loose check arm appears to be blocking it or has destroyed those components. The dealer inspected the issue, and claimed that they have seen many cars with the same defective door welds. They claimed the door would have to be replaced and repainted though this work hasn't been completed yet. According to the dealer though this is a safety issue and 100% a manufacturing defect that Ford is well aware of they are forcing customers to pay for the repairs. This has not been inspected by police or insurance since it is a manufacturing defect and not related to an accident. This has only been an issue for a day, but if an accident, injury or death results from the door flying open while driving I will contact the police, insurance, and get legal representation. No warning lamps or symptoms prior to failure. I opened and closed the door less than 5 times after the first odd noise to when all the door welds failed.Read more

Upon parking my car in my driveway (which has a slight slope), I put it in park and turned it off. I then opened my door and got out. The door was open and got caught on the cement wall that lines my driveway as it rolled back. There is damage to the door and it will likely need

I reversed my car to the end of my driveway and got out to close the garage door. The same thing happened again right when I stepped out of the car, and I again had to jump back in very quickly to stop it from rolling into the street. I then had it towed to the nearest dealer (on 1/15), where they replaced the vacuum pump because the service stability control light was on. They claim to have tested it on a slope and could not replicate the problem. They checked it out and could not find anything wrong with the transmission either. I got my car back on 1/22 (with the door still needing to be fixed) and this happened again on 1/23. I pulled into my driveway, put it in park, and my car immediately rolled back. I then put my 4-wheel drive on and the parking brake and parked it. It was not rolling so I went inside. I looked at it before bed and it was in the same spot. The next morning I go out to my car and it has rolled backwards down my driveway. Luckily, it did not go into the street. I’ve contacted the dealership and initially they said they’d take a complaint but when I made it there, they turned me away and told me to call Ford. I called Ford and they told me to go to the dealer. Neither of them would take a complaint. It’s $150 just for them to look at the car and confirm the problem, however the part doesn’t exist to fix it and I was told it could be til 2025 before it could be fixed as they aren’t making that part. The part would be covered under warranty but it’s not guaranteed that they’ll be able to get it. The transmission light came on right after purchasing the vehicle and I called the dealer to have it looked at but because the light went back off before I made it there, it wouldn’t be covered under warranty. Ford had a lawsuit for something similar to this and I was never notified. My car is at risk of repossession, I’m still paying on it and I can’t even use it. It won’t make it 3 miles at this point. I’m not the only one who’s experiencing this and there’s no solution but there’s no recall either. The car will just stop in the middle of the road and it won’t move, leaving you stuck in the line of oncoming traffic on the interstate and you can’t even pull it over. When driving, if the accelerator pedal is depressed to merge into the highway or overtake other vehicles, the vehicle abruptly stops accelerating, and the RPM reaches max revs. The vehicle quickly loses momentum until it abruptly slams back into gear, causing a loud bang and startling the driver. One time, while attempting to accelerate onto a merge lane into traffic, the car stopped accelerating, causing a large 18 wheeler to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting us as we were running out of onramp space. The dealer performed a transmission rebuild after the 3rd time this occurred. The day after we got the car back from service, it happened again. We have video footage of the transmission slipping after the event. The dealer is unable to replicate the condition, and therefore, don't have anything they can fix without a code or system fault- apparently not even the over-revs triggered a fault. I don't trust this vehicle to be safe for my family or other motorists. I have asked for a completely new transmission and other components but am told that without their ability reproduce the issues, there is no repair. They are unable to guarantee the car's safety, but expect for me to take it back. This puts me in an impossible situation - I'm being forced to drive a car that I know is unpredictably unsafe, and am unable to ethically/morally dispose of the vehicle knowing it will be back on the road and driven by someone else. Lincoln needs to do the right thing for their customers, other motorists, and my family. Their solution was to give me an extended warranty - a nice gesture, but clearly not addressing the safety issue at hand. Note: I am unable to upload the email chain with Lincoln because the upload button below does not work. I'm happy to share any communication you need.Read more

I was just entering the expressway about 70 miles from my home, and the engine light came on in the vehicle. I could not accelerate to more than 52 mph even with the pedal to the floor. I had to drive home in the right-hand lane with my hazards on. This was the second time this happened within a month. The first time the dealer replaced the knock sensor after one week. It ran fine for 3 weeks
... and then the exact same thing happened in exactly the same place 70 miles from my home. My car has been in the shop for a week now, and they still don't know what the issue is, even though they are communicating with Hyundai. I see a pattern here after reading so many similar complaints from other people owning a Hyundai Tucson.Read more

I have yet to experience a safety problem due to the recall associated with my vehicle. However, the recall relates to brake fluid leaking and catching fire when the car is either parked or in drive. Because Hyundai has yet to find a remedy for this dangerous recall in a timely manner, it has brought great anxiety and fear as a young driver.

According to the safety agency's investigation document, the problem is believed to be faulty spot welds in the check arm attachment points on the doors. As one example, an owner reported to NHTSA that "The driver side front door made a creaking sound, could not be opened, and the window would not go down. The internal weld to the door failed."Read more
