My wife was in an accident on [XXX] around [XXX] at the intersection of [XXX] . She had exchanged safety information with the person whose vehicle had stalled. She went to shut off the car upon exchanging the information and after pressing the ignition button the vehicle began to roll. She was outside of the vehicle when she had pressed the ignition button. She was trying to stop the vehicle from rolling as she knew that school was letting out and a school bus would be coming on the road she was at. I contacted the dealer about it and they stated that they had never heard of this happening with there vehicles and to call customer service. The police officer verified verbally that the vehicle was in park when he checked on the condition of my wife who sustained serious injuries on her left leg and was hospitalized for surgery and wound treatment. This is the first time that we ever had an issue with the vehicle. It started when the vehicle in front of her had stalled and backed into her (although his story changed after the injury to my wife). I have been having several issues with this vehicle since I bought it. I’ve had the vehicle break down on me about 3 times and need repairs or adjustments to previous repairs. The main issue right now is that the car has been in the shop for about 50 days or so for repairs on the suspension or tie rods, inner/outer. I’ve had the same issue with vibrations and shaking coming from the front end

The car has been repaired about 6 times already and still no resolution to the problem. The technician at the dealership said there isn’t anything else they can do as all the work they’ve done has been by the manufacturer’s recommendation and book. My other main concern is the car tends to pull or JOLT when driving sometimes. The car has also been needing an alignment every so often. I’m not sure if it’s because the rack and pinion is broken or needs to be replaced. The boots around them keep tearing or coming off. This is my 2nd time hearing a technician tell me about them.The motor has been replaced already at 32K miles, 2 weeks before I bought it. Lately the car also been tugging and or shifting hard. My other issue is the back up camera and the windows, along with the outside button not working to keyless entry feature. I’ve been having several issues with the back up camera lately. It’s always DULL and DIM when switching from P to R, the screen turns dark and black. The other side issues are the Button for the Windows not rolling up or down. They seem to be getting stuck. Before the accident, the vehicle displayed no warning signs. On October 22, I drove my daughter to her high school that is about 6 miles away from my house and dropped her off around 6:50 AM. On my way back, after driving around 2 miles, I was turning around a bend about 25 miles per hour when my car suddenly started accelerating. Startled, I stepped on the brake immediately, but the brake was not working to my surprise. I stepped a second time, and then a
... third time to no avail. In the meantime, the car was surging forward into the darkness at a higher and higher speed. I panicked; I remember uttering,” oh, my God, Oh, my God” a couple of times and then don’t remember what happened. According to the sheriff’s car crash report, the car veered off the road to the left, glanced off a tree and continued in a straight line and crashed into an electricity pole at about 65 mph and stopped. Obviously, I was in a state of shock and woken up by someone asking me repeatedly, “Are you okay?”. I was dazed. When I opened my eyes, I was surrounded by blinking lights from an ambulance. I just sat there bewildered. The window next to me was utterly broken. My left leg was folded. I felt it with my palm and realized that it was broken. I felt my right leg and it was okay. I was asked if I could pull my self out of the car through the passenger’s side door, but I couldn’t move my left leg. So, I gave my back to first responders, and they dragged me out of the car and laid me on the tarmac. Two people held me by my legs and two others by my shoulders and picked me up to a stretcher of an ambulance. My t – shirt and pants were cut up and removed, and I was wrapped by blanket, and taken to the back of the ambulance. Preliminary checking suggested my left leg was indeed fractured, therefore, was wrapped carefully, and I was taken to an emergency room. X-ray of my leg and CT scan of my head and chest showed that my left leg had serious fractures. Surgery to stabilize the fractures was performed. And a second surgery will be performed in two days.Read more

No telling how the damage occurred, yet the warranty company (Costguard) in acquisition of my powertrain policy rejected the claim because (without ever personally inspecting the vehicle) there "was no discrepency as to how the damage occurred." Every mechanic at the dealership who has seen my car disputes their answer. I have been up to date on all maintenance on my vehicle throughout my ownership and have receipts, but cannot add them as they are all in my glovebox and the car is still at the shop. While I find it personally ridiculous that a warranty company would deny this, it is important for me as well to add to the list of engine complaints about this car. Likely the damage to the engine block has also been the cause of reduced mileage I have experienced lately.Read more

I never physically got into the vehicle to do the steps required to put the vehicle into reverse, i.e. putting my foot on the brake & depressing the transmission shift button. I contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle after the incident & explained what had happened. I spoke to Francisco, but he said there was nothing he could do unless I wanted to pay for diagnostics on the vehicle. I explained that the vehicle had clearly malfunctioned since I was not physically inside of the vehicle to put it into reverse. I asked him to document the incident, but he said he was unable to & suggested I contact Infiniti Consumer Affairs. I did that immediately after speaking with Francisco, & gave a detailed description of the incident. I was given a Case Number at that time. I called another Infiniti dealership to explain the situation to ask about diagnostics, & was informed that the car's computer would not give an error code for the car going into reverse. I called to speak to my dealership service advisor & was able to schedule a diagnostics appointment at no charge. I did an internet search & discovered it could be a linkage issue, which is a safety issue & the recommendation was for the vehicle to NOT be driven. I have since scheduled an inspection with Nissan Corp. but the rep was not receptive to my request for repairs. I supplied a video to the dealership, but Nissan said they did not have it.Read more

The VIN sticker and cargo carrying capacity sticker on my 2022 Jayco North Point 382FLRB have a major discrepancy. The VIN sticker says the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is 16,995 pounds, but the yellow weight rating sticker on the outside by the VIN sticker and on the inside of the door says the GVWR is 19,995 pounds. This is a MAJOR issue, because the axles on the camper are only rated at 7
... 400 pounds each, and if someone was to load it with 5,084 pounds, like the yellow weight rating stickers lead you to believe, it would be extremely dangerous and could result in catastrophic failure of the trailer, axles, suspension, wheels/tires, and frame. The VIN sticker, and many other online resources, say the GVWR is 16,995 pounds, which is more accurate and lines up with the axle ratings of the camper. I let my dealer know about it last year, and they confirmed that was likely wrong and said they would contact Jayco, but I have never heard any follow up.Read more

Intense glare of the dashboard onto the windshield while driving. Mach e standard edition shows multiple signs of a failing High Voltage Battery Junction Box (HVBJB). The vehicle was bought certified pre owned with only 12k miles on the vehicle. At 16k miles (2 months of ownership) the vehicle showed a high voltage battery warning and power train malfunction warning. Three warning lights were displayed on the dash which were: a yellow turtle, wrench, and car
... with exclamation. Vehicle was taken to service department where they ran updates and said the issue was a one pedal drive error and ran a standard osp for a power train update (not related to this power train issue). They made no mention of the battery and power train issue on the service record. 1-2 weeks later and about 1k miles, the same issue repeated. The vehicle was taken to a different dealership where they indicated the car had a over heating charge coupler and unbalanced battery "A". Both of these show a probable issue with the HVBJB. The dealership has been insistent that they can't do anything without a stored code. Prior OSP's updated the car to limit power when contactors in the HVBJB exceeded .5 ohms and would show all the warnings we have seen. The main 12 volt battery was replaced at 1k miles, which Ford did not realize the failure could have been from the HVBJB, as it receives charge from the primary batteries. The dealership and Ford engineers have requested that we drive the vehicle until the safety lights repeat, knowing that this puts us in danger of a larger malfunction that could result in complete loss of power while driving. They say that they cannot work on an issue unless a code is tripped. I suspect a code will not trip as the first two times nothing was stored and the OSP patch that NHSTS requested helps prevent the complete failure. The code will only be stored in a complete failure event, which could lead to an accident. There are current recalls for this HVBJB, however it is only for the higher end models.
