I was driving to work via the [XXX] in California when at approximately 6:40am I felt a jerking motion in my 2022 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring (PHEv) and then immediately began receiving various warning lights and chimes indicating an issue. The vehicle was losing power and I was safely able to exit the freeway and pull to the side of the road. There were numerous warning indicators activated, in
... cluding Service Engine Soon, Hill Start Assist failure, Pre-Collision Assist failure, EV Battery not available, and others. I exited the vehicle to ensure that there was not any visible physical damage, and did not find anything. I checked the Owners Manual for the warnings and it indicated that if the vehicle was able to be driven, it could but with caution. I proceeded to drive to work, approximately 4.7 miles away. The vehicle could not be driven over 35 MPH without violently shaking, along with a mechanical grinding noise. Drive Control was also not active and the vehicle felt like it had no suspension. Estimated repair time was approximately 1 week per the Lincoln Concierge (LC), and no root problem had been identified at the time. On Monday, 10/28 I followed up via text to the LC for an update and was informed that they checked with the Transmission technician and they had started to “tear down the transmission to find the fault.” On 10/30, I asked for another update and to inform the LC that I had a preplanned vacation to Big Bear, CA on 11/7/24 and hoped to have it back before then. On 10/31, the LC informed me that the Tech had “ordered a new transmission today and should be here by Tuesday [11/5/24].” On 11/5, I followed up via text to the LC and was informed that the new arrival date for the transmission would be 11/6 or 11/7. Because I did not have my Corsair and wanted to be cautious of the miles on the loaner, we took an alternate vehicle for the road trip. See PDF attached for additional details. I was backing out of a parking space in reverse as I have done multiple times and the second I took my foot off the brake pedal to go into reverse, my car shot out at a high speed and hit a parked car on the other side of the street. Not realizing that there was an auto malfunction, I attempted to turn around my car to see the damage to the other car and when I went into reverse again to turn aro

I am 100% certain that I did not depress the accelerator pedal to cause the car to go at that speed in reverse twice! We contacted General Motors which supposedly had their engineers look at the mechanicals of the car but the only information we received from them is that the car did accelerate both times at 99% of capacity. The air bags did not deploy so the crash computer did not activiate. GM either did not examine the soft ware on the car, or, if they did, that information was not shared with us. If I had been in a crowded parking lot, the consequences could have been catastophic.Read more

On [XXX] we were driving the Kia at slow speed due to snow on the road when a warning light came on which we think said hybrid vehicle failure pull over. Because I felt the vehicle was not safe to drive. I had it towed to the Kia dealer in Salisbury Pocahontas Kia, who have not been able to duplicate the problem and have also not been able to tell us what was wrong with the Kia to cause this problem in the first place. What happened: My 2015 Ford Focus has significant safety defects Ford has refused to address, despite these issues being covered under their Customer Satisfaction Programs (CSPs). These defects include engine stalling, power loss, and transmission issues, which pose serious risks to my safety and that of others. Ford’s inaction has exacerbated these problems. Key Issues: Engine Stalling and He
... sitation (CSP 24N07 - Canister Purge Valve): The car stalls unpredictably at low speeds, especially during turns or stops, with an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp. This has led to dangerous situations, including near-accidents at intersections. Transmission Problems (CSP 14M02 - Transmission Control Module): The vehicle experiences intermittent power loss, failure to start without gas application, and a "Service Engine Soon" light. These issues have worsened over time. Clutch Defects (CSP 19N08 - PowerShift Dual-Clutch Transmission): The car exhibits jerking, shuddering, and slipping during normal operation, compromising control and safety. Timeline of Events: June 2020: I reported clutch issues under CSP 19N08, but Ford dismissed them as "not severe enough." January 2025: I returned to address worsening CSP issues, but Ford denied repairs, claiming the mileage cap had been exceeded. They demanded $4,000 for clutch replacement and $190 for diagnostics—fees I consider unjustified since these problems are related to acknowledged defects. Risks and Observations: The frequent stalling and transmission failures create significant safety hazards. As a veterinary technician who drives daily with my dog, these malfunctions put both our lives at risk. The stalling often leaves me stranded in traffic, endangering myself and other drivers. Warning lamps are consistently illuminated, and the issues have been confirmed by the dealership during prior visits. Despite these known defects, Ford refuses to perform repairs under their CSPs. While driving approximately 40mph down straight roadway without anything around, the vehicle has unexpectedly slammed on the brakes. This has happened four times to date (11/13/24 - 12/25/24). During two of the instance's lights flashed on the dashboard and indicated the front right corner sensor of vehicle. During the other two occurrences, lights flashed on the dashboard and indicated the sensor
... at the rear right corner of vehicle, even though the vehicle was again traveling forward at approx. 40mph. In each case the brakes were unexpectedly applied very hard for several seconds before returning to normal. There were no other vehicles around and no dirt or other obstructions to the sensors. Vehicle was brought into dealer for diagnostics and was told they could not duplicate the concern. I asked the dealership to contact Kia for support and they refused. I then contacted Kia directly asking for assistance in getting this resolved. They responded that they rely on diagnostics from the dealership and only if the dealership can duplicate the issue will anything be done. This is an extremely dangerous drivability issue of which the dealer agrees. But since they have not witnessed it firsthand, no further action is being taken to attempt to find and/or replace whatever part is malfunctioning. In searching the NHTSA website, I see several complaints where individuals have experienced strikingly similar complaints (NHTSA # 11538285, 11485486, 11457515, 11457281, 11589381) with this vehicle.Read more

Since October 2022, we have had to replace the front signal wiring harnesses on the car four (4) times due to the wiring being coated with a substance that rodents are being attracted to. It seems that is has happened again. We have not yet taken it to our repair shop for confirmation this time, but we had an incident with our Kia (Vin [XXX] ) in November 2024. In this case the clutch assembly
... wiring had been chewed and the assembly had to be replaced. We had the Kia towed to the dealer for repair, so all incidents are documented by repair shops. Not having proper signaling can cause accidents, but I think chewing of other wiring such as the clutch assembly can be an even greater cause for concern. What part will be chewed next. With the clutch assembly we were shown a check engine light and with the signals, the signals sounded different. I know from being on the Next Door website that other people in the area have had the same problems. I think this problem of the coating on wiring should be checked before it causes a serious accident. I put the date of the Kia incident on the bottom because I considered this the most serious. Even if I cut the truck off, wait, then on, the display may not go off, or it would glitch and freeze before working properly; this also happens in the mist of me driving; this has happened since Sept 2024. Fourth, the connect to my radio will glitch horribly that it has connected and disconnected my phone approximately 8xs in a 30 min span/drive; this occurred the end of November. My check engine light came on in October, and I took it to Autozone immediately, especially since I had been having problems with the truck since I bought it. When driving in highway traffic at moderate to high speeds (as well as low speeds), the truck will often accelerate with (and towards) a vehicle that is less than 1 second ahead of the truck. Certainly this often happens when there is not a safe distance between the truck and the next vehicle. The trucks systems in no way seem to expect that the next vehicle could slam on brakes at any moment.
... I have had this happen many times when a vehicle merges too close in front of me and then accelerates. The Safety Director at Tyson Foods, Robert Carl, told me in a conference call about the unsafe flaws in the truck, that these Freightliner systems are programmed to "try" to maintain about a 2.5 second following distance. Even this is patently unsafe. Driver safety guidelines (FMCSA) are: "If you are driving below 40 mph, you should leave at least one second for every 10 feet of vehicle length. For a typical tractor-trailer, this results in 4 seconds between you and the leading vehicle. For speeds over 40 mph, you should leave one additional second." It would appear that Daimler/Freightliner may have used Autonomous Driving software that was designed for cars, and has tried to "adjust" it to work in tractor-trailers. That is speculation, but based on the supposed target following distance, that may be correct. 2.5 seconds is certainly too close, and the distances of less than 1 second that I have commonly seen are not acceptable in any truck.Read more

ABS system went down on my truck, brakes still work but no ABS system! Received no recall papers even though the truck is a 2017 Dodge Ram and 2017 trucks are under recalls.

When driving in highway traffic at moderate to high speeds (as well as low speeds), the truck will often accelerate with (and towards) a vehicle that is less than 1 second ahead of the truck. Certainly this often happens when there is not a safe distance between the truck and the next vehicle. The trucks systems in no way seem to expect that the next vehicle could slam on brakes at any moment.

... . I went to Raceway Ford dealership and the service rep Edwin Garcia file my claim to have my car repaired as well as my $350 refund.. That was 10 weeks ago.. I got a call from a lady (sorry she didn’t identify herself) at Raceway (12/27/24) regarding a recall.. I informed her that Edwin had filed my claim and I would like to know the status… she replied…”give me 10 minutes and I’ll call you back.. I never got a call back. Meanwhile I can’t take my SUV to a automated car wash in fear of it leaking water 💦 inside..
