I own a 2021 Honda CR-V Touring hybrid and have had 2 incidents of what I have learned is called sudden unintentional acceleration (SUA). I bought the car new and took possession of it in the spring of 2021. The first incident occurred Nov 14, 2023 when I was parking at a restaurant. I was slowly pulling forward into a parking spot where there were unattended cars on either side of me as well as
... in front of me. Suddenly, without warning, I was surging with full force into the minivan parked ahead of me as well as the front end of the car parked next to it. I slammed on the brake but not before I had pushed the minvan several feet forward. I did not know how this happened but, even though I knew that I had not stepped on the gas pedal nor had something interfered with it, I assumed that I must have done something to cause this accident. Thousands of dollars of damage was done to my car as well as the other two vehicles that were struck. The second incident was June 11, 2025. I was slowly advancing forward into a hotel parking space. There was a curb at the end of the space with some landscaping behind that. The landscaping had an uphill incline with some large evergreens about 8-10 feet from the curb. Once again, the car suddenly surged forward, jumping the curb, and accelerating into the evergreens. I slammed on the brake, feeling like I was putting my foot through the floor. This was an exact repeat of the previous incident and I am absolutely certain that I did nothing to cause this acceleration to occur. I was able to back out of the evergreens and my car does not appear to be damaged. Airbags were not deployed in either incident. I went on-line and there are numerous reports of similar incidents among CR-v owners but I do not see any recalls or actions taken by Honda on this problem. I intend to take the car to the Honda dealer in the next week. I fear the next incident may result in injury or death.Read more

Incident date: Nov 30, 2024
While driving my 2024 Ford Maverick on a highway at approximately 65 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost power to the front wheels while passing a slower-moving vehicle. This caused the truck to jerk and decelerate rapidly in the oncoming lane, forcing me to veer back into my original lane abruptly. In doing so, I narrowly avoided a head-on collision, but the sudden maneuver caused the driver behind me
... to swerve off the road to avoid a rear-end collision. As a result, that vehicle went into a ditch and struck a small embankment. Three people inside suffered injuries, one with a fractured wrist, another with whiplash, and the third sustained a concussion from the impact. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and all injured individuals were transported to the hospital for evaluation. Despite the severity of the incident, there was no physical damage to my Maverick, as I was able to regain control and come to a stop safely on the shoulder. The cause was later determined to be a failure of the front driver-side CV axle and associated drivetrain components. Ford service technicians confirmed the mechanical failure after inspection. There were no warning lights, dashboard alerts, or fault codes prior to the failure. Intermittent clicking sounds during acceleration and turns had been occurring since around 3,500 miles, but the dealership initially dismissed them as normal. The full failure occurred at approximately 4,200 miles. Ford has not issued a recall or technical service bulletin related to this, though the dealer acknowledged similar reports from other Maverick owners. The failed parts remain in possession of the dealership and are available for further inspection.Read more

The differential came apart while my family and I were traveling on the highway out of town. This cause the vehicle to start violently jolting and wheels locked up. The vehicle began to skid across the center line into on coming traffic, we were almost hit head on and from behind due to this. My husband couldn’t get the vehicle to move, it was making a grinding and screeching noise. Finally,
... he got it into 4x4 mode and was able to move the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. This was a very traumatic and terrifying experience for my whole family, we literally thought we were doing to die. Not to mention, there was no indication or warning that notified us on the dashboard. Since we were 100 miles from home, I had to have my vehicle towed, partially at my expense to the closest Ford dealership in California, which was still 40 miles from my home. The service department confirmed it was the differential, it took almost two weeks to get the part and to fix it. Since, my vehicle was practically brand new and only had 2000 miles on it, the repair was covered under warranty. I contacted Ford customer service and notified them of what happened. I requested them to buy back the vehicle, however they declined. Now I am stuck with a brand new $75,000 vehicle with only 2150 miles on it, that I do not feel safe driving my family in. If one major issue has already happened, then the probability of something else major happening is pretty good. I’m extremely disappointed in Ford for not standing by their vehicles.Read more

... . Jaguar Buckhead diagnosed failed fuel injectors (cylinders 1 and 5) and replaced them under warranty. In Sept 2021, the issue reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to Jaguar South Atlanta, but delays and lack of urgency led me to transfer the vehicle to Jaguar Buckhead. They again replaced the injectors. Repair spanned several months. In Jan 2025, the same issue returned. Jaguar Buckhead diagnosed injector failures again (same cylinders). A second certified dealer now recommends full engine replacement at over $33,000. I have provided work orders, invoices, and error codes (P0301, P0305, P1316, P1000) to the manufacturer. No lasting fix has been made, and the car is still inoperable. Safety Risk: Repeated misfires and power loss while driving present serious safety risks, including sudden loss of control on highways.
