The service department acknowledged the symptoms but refused to cover the diagnosis or repair under warranty since no recall was showing under my VIN. Inspected by Others: The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer directly or by law enforcement or insurance. However, it was diagnosed and documented by an authorized Ford dealership (Liberty Ford in Fayetteville NC). Warning Lamps or Symptoms: There were no warning lamps or error codes. The symptoms began subtly but became consistent over time. The first noticeable event was approximately in “early 2025”, with increased severity since then. Since I purchased the car, the transmission has been slipping constantly, shifting gears on its own unpredictably, making loud noises under the hood and throughout the entire vehicle. These issues create a major safety hazard, putting me and others at significant risk. On June 25, 2025, I was involved in a hit-and-run incident that likely worsened the vehicle’s condition. During this incident, the side airbags on both sides of my vehicle deployed, but the front airbag did not deploy at all, which is highly concerning and increased the danger during the impact. Additionally, the car has a cracked shock absorber head, likely from the accident, which has led to instability and potential fishtailing. I am now afraid to drive the vehicle due to unpredictable handling and further mechanical failure. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. These problems have been confirmed and partially addressed by the dealer when the engine was replaced, but the transmission issues have never been fully resolved. Luckily this did not cause an accident, but being hit in the back of the head by the headrest certainly can cause an accident in the future. Backup camera fails regularly even after software update to version 3.6.4. Video feed will stutter and lag, which gives the driver an unreliable view out the back of the car when reversing. This issue puts pedestrians, animals, vehicles, and other property at risk. Due to the design of the car, there is extremely limited visibility through the side and rear windows of the car. Without a reliably functioning backup camera, drivers may accidentally strike pedestrians or vehicles when reversing. When the issue was brought to the attention of my local Polestar/Volvo service center, I was told there was no solution they could offer and owners must wait for the issue to be solved with future OTA software updates to the vehicle. Polestar has issued several OTA updates, but the issue has not improved whatsoever. A quick search of Polestar forums and Reddit threads will confirm that this issue is widespread across the entire Polestar 2 fleet, with many owners reporting the issues described above. One more note: this camera issue has presented itself throughout the 3+ years I’ve owned the vehicle, however it has worsened over time. It is my opinion (and the opinion of many other Polestar owners) that the infotainment computer is seriously underpowered and in this car. Other apps and functions have presented errors and have become sluggish and unreliable (maps, Spotify, etc) and I believe it is because the system is running out of memory or other resources.Read more

At the dealer they gave me a print out from 2019 that states it was a safty recall 19S07 but the dealership said it was only a technical bullet not a safty recall and dealers not responsible for the cost but will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with updated calibration -Requires using IDS software release 113.06A or newer (internet connection needed) -No replacement parts needed—this is a software fix But in truth, this dose not fix the problem. Online research show that in most cases the dealership has to remove main control and replace LEAD FRAME. (Located internally in the transmission) like they did on my SUV as well. The cost is over $1,500 and Ford and Lincoln are down playing the danger and by making customers pay out of pocket since it is not an official safety recall from the nhtsa. This out of pocket cost may lead to people not repairing the faulty system. This could have and could be causing accidents or maybe even deaths..This is crazy not to be a full safty recall...
