Driving on highway at 40mph while towing a trailer the rear tires briefly locked up, then the Check Engine Light came on and vehicle went into limp mode. Dealer confirmed transmission valve body issue. Same problem as recalled on earlier model year vehicles. Seems like 2023-2025 vehicles should be added to the original recall to ensure support and long-term warranty protection.

New 2025 F150 Lariat with 3.5L V-6 Twin-Turbo Full Hybrid. Truck was sitting in garage and off when suddenly a message appeared on the digital speedometer area saying there was a powertrain fault. When my iPhone is connected to Apple CarPlay in my vehicle, a loud static sound occurs during phone calls, and music playing. This static causes the audio to cut in and out, making conversations unintelligible. Because of this, I am unable to safely use the hands-free calling feature, which forces me to either end the call or take my hands off the steering wheel and eyes off the road to put the ca
... ll on the phone’s speaker. The problem is frequent, occurring multiple times per day. The only temporary fix is to physically unplug the CarPlay cable and plug it back in, which is dangerous to do while driving. This is a serious safety issue because it defeats the purpose of hands-free communication, which is required in many states to comply with distracted driving laws. Other owners of the same make and model have reported experiencing the same CarPlay static and call dropouts, suggesting this is not an isolated case but a possible defect. If the vehicle is to be driven safely and legally, the hands-free calling function must work without forcing the driver to take unsafe actions. This issue should be investigated as it creates a significant risk of driver distraction and potential accidents.Read more

In Feb of 2023, my van had no known issues and out of nowhere it started making a terrible noise, every light in the dash came on, my power steering stopped working and then my engine shut off. I had it towed to a mechanic shop, they said it needed an engine. I had it towed to our local KIA dealership. They said it did not need an engine, it only needed a timing chain. That was $8000. We decided t
... o get it done. 4 weeks later exactly from when we picked it up, I was on the interstate and the exact thing happened. I had it towed back to our local KIA. They stated it now needed an engine and it would be a used engine because they do not manufacture the engine anymore. It had over 60K miles on it and it would be $13K not including shipping or labor. We decided not to do this. After further investigation, this should have been under warranty the entire time and we never should have spent any money on it. This has been a terribly unreliable “family car”. I will NEVER buy a KIA again. My family is still suffering from paying $8K+ to have it “fixed”.Read more

The shift cable bushing on my 2015 Ford Escape failed, causing the gear shifter to appear in "Park" when the transmission was actually in a different gear. This posed a significant safety risk, as the vehicle could roll unexpectedly. The problem was diagnosed and confirmed by a certified Ford dealership. They stated the failure was due to a coolant hose leak affecting the bushing, but this seems q
... uestionable since this exact bushing has been recalled previously for premature degradation (Ford recalls 18S20 and 22S25). I experienced the same symptoms reported in the recall: gear position not matching the shifter, difficulty engaging Park, and the potential for the car to roll. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. I had to pay for the repair out of pocket, even though this appears to be the same defect covered in the recall. The part is no longer available for inspection, as it was replaced during the repair.Read more

... s a Horrifying Experience to be driving In traffic and lose control of the vehicle but luckily I was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road to safety without crashing! Although the vehicle was fully powered, it would not move and I had to call AAA in order to get the vehicle towed to the closest AAA Approved facility which was AutoWorks Diagnostics & Repair in Kittery, ME. They observed fluids had leaked out but were unable to locate where the leak was coming from and very Loud Noises that appeared to be coming from in between the Engine and Transmission . After researching online they found that there were Two Recalls involving the welds on the Torque Converter detaching from the engine. They also found a recall on the front brake hoses rupturing & leaking brake fluid as well as a Recall with the steering wheel retaining bolt loosening & detaching while driving which could also have contributed to the issues experienced with the vehicle and the safety concerns associated as I was driving in traffic and lost Total Control of the vehicle which could very likely have caused a Major Accident! Unfortunately None of these recalls have been associated with the VIN connected to this vehicle and the manufacturer; Lincoln, to this point has refused to discuss any of the issues having to do with the four recalls being associated to my specific 2017 Lincoln Hybrid Premier 2.0L gas engine with 6 speed transmission although this specific year, make & model has each of these reported recalls.Read more

I’ve owned my 2012 Lincoln MKS for 3 years. A warning recently appeared saying “Power Steering Assist Fault,” and now the steering is very hard to turn, especially at low speeds. I’ve already paid around $1,800 in the past to fix this issue once, but now I’m experiencing the same or similar problems again. I haven’t had it officially diagnosed this time because both Ford and the dealer
... told me it wouldn’t be covered, since the recall (15S18) is now expired. This is a serious safety issue. The car is difficult to control and unsafe to drive. I’m a full-time worker and a father of two toddlers, and I’m still making payments on this car that I now can’t safely use — or only for short trips while constantly worrying about steering failure. I just found out about this old recall, and the dealership never told me anything about it when I bought the car used. I strongly believe I’m experiencing the same issue Ford previously recalled these vehicles for, and I’m asking NHTSA to investigate or reopen the recall so it can be repaired before me or my family is seriously injured.Read more

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback and the dangerous issue related to its air conditioning (A/C) system — a problem affecting many Civic owners nationwide. I initially brought my vehicle to Honda City Chicago for a Honda “campaign” repair (a term they use instead of calling it a recall) in 2023 and again this year, related to the A/C system. I was told th
... e issue would be resolved. However, after agreeing to an optional transmission oil change they recommended, I was later told the A/C still wasn’t fixed — and that I now needed to pay $400 for a diagnostic. That diagnostic revealed the actual problem: a locked A/C compressor. (Which they knew they just wanted the money) This defect is not just an inconvenience — it’s a serious safety hazard. When the A/C is turned on, the locked compressor causes the engine to shake violently and stall completely. This happened to me at a red light; the car shut off, became unresponsive, and I was stuck blocking traffic. If this had occurred while driving at higher speeds, the consequences could have been catastrophic. Many Civic owners have reported similar compressor failures leading to engine stalls and unsafe driving conditions. Honda is aware of this issue but continues to treat it as isolated rather than a systemic defect. I urge the NHTSA to open a formal investigation into this widespread and dangerous issue involving locked A/C compressors in 2016–2020 Honda Civics. A safety recall is warranted before more drivers are put at risk or harmed due to this known defect.Read more
