AFTER PURCHASINNG MY VEHICLE, I NOTICED A DISTINCT HARD OBJECT JUST UNDER THE SEATING SURFACE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A SEAT ADJUSTMENT SUCH AS A LUMBAR SUPPORT ON THE SEAT BOTTOM, BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE. I WAS, AND STILL AM, SITTING DIRECTLY ON THE MOTOR CONTROLS FOR THE SEAT. HE ASKED ME TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE AND THEY WOULD FIX THE SEAT THE FOLLOWING DAY BY INSTALLING SOME ADDITIONAL PADDING. I TOOK A RENTAL CAR PROVIDED BY THEM BACK TO MY APARTMENT. I WAS CONTACTED THE FOLLOWING DAY BY THE SAME DEALER REP. AND WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THERE WERE NO PREVIOUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS THAT THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE REPAIRS. ON A ROAD TRIP IN 2004 WITH 32000 MILES, THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE DEALER CLAIMED THERE WAS SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE AND FORD WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY. NOW I HAVE TO KEEP THE GEAR SHIFT KNOB REMOVED (WHICH SUBJECTS THE MECHANISM TO ACCIDENTALLY HAVE THE OVERDRIVE BUTTON PUSHED). WITH THE KNOB REMOVED, I CAN LIFT THE ROD TO SHIFT INTO GEAR AND THEN MUST LOWER THE ROD (MANUALLY) TO LOCK IT INTO THE SELECTED LOCATION. FAILURE TO LOWER THE ROD ALLOWS THE SHIFTER TO MOVE FREELY AND ALSO PREVENTS THE KEYS FROM BEING REMOVED ONCE THE SHIFTER IS AGAIN IN PARK. ONE ADDITIONAL PLUG ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE ENGINE WAS ALSO LOOSE AND A POTENTIAL BLOWOUT. THESE PLUGS WERE FACTORY ORIGINAL AND HAVE NOT BEEN CHANGED SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW. THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED AND THE FAILURE SEEMED TO BE REMEDIED
... HOWEVER , THE VEHICLE BEGIN TO BACKFIRE AND DRIVE ABNORMALLY ROUGH ,,IN ADDITION , THE ENGINE WOULD EXHIBIT ABNORMAL NOISES AND AN OVERPOWERING OIL ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS IN FORMED THAT THE HEAD GASKET AND COIL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000 AND THE CURRANT MILEAGE WAS108,000. THE POWER WINDOWS HAVE FAILED TWO TIMES AND THE PAINT IS PEELING. I BOUGHT THIS LINCOLN LS BECAUSE I NEW IT WAS A GOOD CAR BUYING IT FROM THE FORD & MERCURY DEALER . I M SAD TO SAY THEY HAVE LET ME DOWN AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE PAYING DOUBLE FOR IT. I AM A PERSON WHO BELIEVE IN TAKING CARE OF WHAT I LIVE TO PAY FOR.
